Gaga! On non-running days I dance to her music for 30 min.

I listen to a lot of hip hop at the gym but my Ipod is like 600 songs of crazy mix ups. I have a lot of Japanese stuff on there which is usually high octane pop-ish but I also have a lot of rock and rap and such. Also have a lot of Dave Matthews. I like a ton of music.

Oh, 2 legit 2 quit is an EXCELLENT idea. I'm adding that to my playlist right now. I'm also going to download Kanye's New Workout Plan. Kanye's Stronger is a must on my workout playlists. I like the literal.

I am SO GLAD this topic came up, because my five-year-old iPod just kicked the bucket AND all my music disappeared! And the music was stored on my old, defunct computer! Awful, I know. But as I rebuild my music library, I will refer to this thread very often.

Here are some of the songs on my old (*wistful sigh*) workout playlist:

Work It - Missy Elliot
We Run This - Missy Elliot
Love on the Rocks - Sara Bareilles (not superfast-paced, but a great steady rhythm)
The Dentist Song - Little Shop of Horrors
Do Right - Jimmy's Chicken Shack
Brackish - Kittie

Pointer Sisters are good. Cheesy 90s music is good. Upbeat, festive world music songs from traditional happy-type ceremonies (like weddings) are good. Bollywood music is great! Big band music is good too.

I find that nothing beats Lady Gaga for getting me pumped and in the mood to exercise. Whenever I start a workout I have Poker Face and Just Dance back to back and I always listen to them first.

I also love All Star and Walking on the Sun by Smash Mouth, Gimme Sympathy by Metric, Down Under by Men at Work, and We Didn't Start the Fire by Billy Joel.

Normally when I listen to music I just let my playlist go and take it as it comes, but when I'm working out I'm always skipping ahead to the highest-energy songs I can find.

I have to admit, Gaga is also my go to girl for working out as well.

My workout mix changes a lot. It's mostly fast paced stuff, like Girl Talk's Night Ripper album.

There are a few songs that are guaranteed to be on my playlist though:

Eminem - Lose Yourself (this song makes me push extra hard)
Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath
Annie - Me Plus One
Fergie - Glamourous

Lately I like:

Muse - Uprising (for my warmups. Soooo motivating.)
Misstress Barbara - I'm Running
Metric - Help, I'm Alive
Sinead O'Connor - No Man's Woman
All-American Rejects - Move Along
Belly - Pressure
Destiny's Child - Survivor
Divide & Kreate - Hardcore Gossip
Placebo - Running up that Hill
Linkin Park - In the End (BeeKay Remix)

It must of been you who suggested this quite a long time ago...Thank you!!!!!!! I ended up downloading a bunch of Girl Talk stuff. I love it! It is what I listened to when I first started working out in the gym (helped me not feel so intimidated for some odd reason)! It is still my go to when nothing else seems to keep me motivated
