I just rejoined weight watchers after gaining some weight over the holidays. I gained about 5 pounds since Thanksgiving. I'm hoping I can get this off in the next two weeks.
Is that way too crazy to expect?
Also I know to remember the smaller you are, the harder it is to lose weight. And that the faster you lose, the quicker it can come back.
So, I guess I am just asking what are you satisfied (or super happy) with on your weekly losses?
a pound a week works best for me. if i lose more then that, it usually comes back, probably because i need to deprive myself of something in order to lose so much, so i find a way to 'make amends'.
that, of course, is no rule for other people.
I think it just depends on if the gain was permanent...meaning 3500 additional calories on top of maintenance to gain 1 lb of fat. 3500x5lbs=17,500 additional calories on TOP of what your body needs daily (1300-2000) on average. It could be partially water weight, in which case will come off when you up your protein and lower your carbs and restrict calories to get that big deficit. I really do believe that you'll be able to lose it in 2 weeks...if not I would say at least 3 of the pounds...considering you keep active and really stick to the plan! Weight watchers works..it all comes down to calories.
i forgot how easy weight watchers is. once i committed again (and paid all that money to buy 12 weeks in advance), i somehow find it hard it to get in all the points. we'll see on the weekend
I'd literally be seething with anger if I only lost a pound a week. They say 2lbs a week is safe... personally, I shoot for more and I don't worry about gaining it back because I know myself and I know after all the work I put into it, I never would. Food and I got a divorce and our love affair is quite over, sadly. Healthy weight loss is the key. Just eat good stuff, don't starve, don't go crazy.
I can lose 5 lbs in a week or 5 lbs in a month. If I put on 5 lbs of holiday weight, it's usually fairly easy to take off. If it's more of a gradual and sneaky gain, that can get a little tougher I've noticed.
I lost most of my weight in a fairly short amount of time. I had a lot of "wooshes" where I wouldn't lose and then it would just fall off. the last 15 or so lbs took a lot longer, so you should expect that the smaller you are, the longer it may take.
