Misa222 You can't not drink alcohol. It's important (to me anyway) not to cut anything out completely, or else one day you'll just go crazy and binge on it. I believe in keeping everything in moderation, and enjoying your life. If you can't enjoy your life while dieting, then you have to re-evaluate your diet. Be sure you're eating healthy and exercising, but you can fit in a treat here and there also Just save extra calories, or do a bit more exercise. Everything in moderation!
Hi girls! I just joined this forum, I'm excited to get to know you all.
New Years is traditionally a disaster for me lol (the theme: either I get lost or my stuff does...), this year is meant to be an exception! My boyfriend and I are going to my parent's house to spend time with some more of my family who is flying in from PA (very strict non-partiers, non-drinkers...). So that will really help with my calories lol - no drinking!! Then the next day I'm driving the kid part of that family to Chicago (about 2 hours from where I live) and we're going to walk around the city, etc. It'll be fun, much lower key that I was hoping but they decided to come last minute and I hardly ever get to see them.
Garstar - Thanks for the input. Its true that most things are okay in moderation. I guess I had just read so many articles that said to avoid alcohol, that I thought I would feel guilty if I had a drink. But you're right, I could save calories or exercise a little extra. I've just always struggled around my friends bc none of them are dieting. Thanks for the encourgagement though! I know I can handle it!
Oooh, stellarosa, I love love LOVE your shoes! I think both outfits are cute, but the blue dress shows off your curves very well and the color looks so nice on you!
Since I'm a waitress, I'll be working on NYE, but I really don't mind that much. I actually requested to work it, haha. It's a good shift for money, and it means I spend a night being active (if you've ever waited tables you know what I mean!) instead of having a calorie binge.
Also, NYE has never been a big holiday for me, but i know it is for many others. I know I'm a really good waitress and it makes me feel really good to make someone's holiday really fun, especially when it's large group of people getting together to celebrate.
So if you all are going out on NYE, remember to be kind to your servers and tip well, hahaha.
Me, hubby, and our 5-year old will be going to a friends house in TN on NYE. I'm sure some drinking will be involved, but no overdoing it for me. I'm not nervous about it at all actually.
See the dress I don't wear for NYE is the dress I'm wearing for my birthday.
Garstar - Thank you I'm with you, I always see NYE as a "BLACK" event, but I kinda want to stand out and everyone wears black. But the black one definately shows off my legs, where the blue one shoes off the curves...I may just bring both along with me...
The shoes I got at Macy's. They're BCBGeneration. I'm usually a big shoe-sale kind of girl, but omg I fell in love with them so I paid full price. And it wasn't a small price But I got the dresses on sale so it makes up for it, I guess.
Stella- Love the dresses and the shoes are ADORABLE. I have been looking for some similiar shoes myself but with wearing a size 12 shoe its kinda hard to be a "shoe person"
How do you guys go out in the freezing cold in dresses? Ive never had this problem until being here in Chicago for NYE and I bought a sleeveless short dress. I feel like such a cold weather noob haha. I dont even own a scarf or gloves or anything "warm" I have no idea how to pull off a dress in the freezing cold... HELP lol
