Congratulations!!! That's an important milestone, and a huge accomplishment. I've been maintaining about a year and half now. I wasn't quite as giddy on the one-year mark as I was when I hit goal, but I knew that in the grand scheme of things, maintaining for a year was a bigger deal than the loss itself.

And on an unrelated note, let me say I heart Newfoundland! My husband and I went on vacation there in July, and we had absolutely the best time. We rented a car and drove all over everywhere--St John's, Cape St. Mary's, Gros Morne, St Anthony, Twillingate. We saw puffins, whales, moose, icebergs. Wow. It was just fabulous. You live in a pretty spectacular place.

May I ask how many days or minutes you exercise a week? Was there anything you would recommend for someone trying to maintain?

Best wishes for continued health.

Congratulations! The thought of maintenance is such a far off idea for me, but to have been there for a whole year, wow. Nice work!

Continga So glad you enjoyed Newfoundland!! Yes it is an amazing place to visit...Newfies have their own little culture! Did you visit Terra Nova National Park? My hometown is Glovertown which is really closeby. Sometimes it's so easy to forget what we have here in our own backyards. When I go to Cape Spear or Signal Hill I still get that "awwweeee" feeling!

Better health I try..try being the key word, lol..to work out for at least 4 times a week...sometimes I don't get to..sometimes it may be a little more. Last week I hardly got to work out because my bf went away to work for at least 2.5-3 months so I wanted to spend as much time w/ him as possible. I usually take the classes at my gym which are an hour long....Aqua aerobics/ Zumba/ or 20/20/20 (20 mins each of step/toning and abs).

I think the thing to remember about maintaining is to not let it go to your head that you've lost all the weight. Also remember that you still have to work as hard or even harder to maintain. Do NOT reach your goal and give up on the healthy eating and exercise. Also remember that if you do gain a few lbs it's not the end of the world..it's just a reminder that you're slacking off and need to work a little harder...two weeks ago I weighed 149 and I was almost starting to panic..Then I took a look at what I was doing and what I needed to change. Another thing I realized is that I may maintain within a certain range...say 140-145....my weight will not be one specific number...I found this really hard to get used to..the ups and downs on the scale.

Hope some of this helped!

Thank you ladies for your support..you are amazing!
