How often do you weigh yourself?
And do you always do it in the morning "nekkid" ?
I vary from doing it once a week to every day... I know I should only do it once a week but sometimes it's hard to not get a lil obsessed with the scale. Of course when I'm not trying to lose weight, I don't look at the scale at all for months. Middle ground... need middle ground! |

I dont unless I have a doctors appt.I know this is not a great rule to follow.I have "issues" with the scale.

I know I would be better off weighing-in once a week, but I can't help myself--its the first thing I do when I get up in the morning. And the weird thing is, if I like what I see I am totally motivated and have a good day, but if I don't like what I see I tend to eat too much and blow off my workout. You'd think it would be the other way around.

I weigh myself everday just to kind of keep myself on track however I only count one day a week as my official weightloss and thats what I keep track of here.

I'm every morning as well..but it's really awkward, the max i can have on when i do it is a bra and underwear (preferably naked), but my suitemates get pissed when I lock the bathroom door in the morning for even a minute, so I have to be really stealthy about it lol.

I weigh myself every morning, after potty and w/o clothes. BUT I only count the average weight, and only worry if that goes up. I've been using The Hacker's Diet (http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/e4/) and the online chart to track my average. Now I can indulge my scale-related OCD without getting too wrapped up in the day-to-day numbers. :D

I've been averaging a few times a week, after I go to the bathroom, naked.
And if I go to the bathroom again, within an hour, I do it again. I wouldn't say I'm OCD, I just want accurage numbers :) :) |
Every day... I enter it in physicsdiet.com which makes a pretty graph for me of my recent average weight.

I do it every day in the morning, after I go to the washroom. I'm a little OCD but I don't think I'm even the slightest bit capable of an eating disorder :)
I stepped on the scale today, and I was missing a whopping 4.5 pounds. But then again I'm on my period. I think that's totally foul, hehe. |
Every day, in the morning. I weigh in on Fridays but I can't help but weigh everyday... for me, it's very frustrating because it's always up/down/up/down no matter what.

I'm bad; I weigh myself every time I go to the bathroom. BUT, the number I record for my weight for the day is the one I get immediately after using the bathroom first thing in the morning.

I weigh myself every morning, naked, after I've used the bathroom. However, I only count my Friday weight. Much like almost everyone commenting in this thread, I feel I use the scale too much, so I'm trying to cut back to 3-4 times a week. =b

I used to do weekly then recently switched to daily, but I'm going back to weekly (in the morning, naked), as I think the everyday thing is making me neurotic. And I keep expecting to see a loss and then I don't and then I feel crappy. I guess if I do it weekly and still see no loss, I'll still feel crappy, but at least only once a week!

I only weigh in "officially" once a week on Sunday. "Unofficially" I weigh in daily after I go to the bathroom in the morning. It's obsessive but this is the first time I have been truly committed to my weight loss.

I weigh after I've pottied and showered in the mornin, In the kitchen (that's where the scale is, it fits better in the kitchen than in the bathroom), naked, a few days a week.
I too, have noticed that if I've had a great weigh-in, I have a GREAT eating day. If it's a bad morning weigh-in, I tend to just care a little less. I've started tracking my period through an iphone app though, so now I know what days I can blame my bad weigh-ins on that, to help deter the over-eating a little. (It's sad sounding, but if I know it's not my "fault" that it's a bad weigh in, I'm better at staying OP) There's a whole LOT of analyzing I could do on myself based on those few sentences, and it doesn't look good...but it's honest! |
I weigh myself every morning after I pee in my undies! I only count Monday weigh-ins as my official weight though.
It doesn't bother me at all to weigh in everyday. If I'm up oh well, knowing me its prbly due to lack of sleep or too much salt. Anyways I pretty much know what cause little fluctuations. Its when I don't that I start to freak out! |
Yeah... I guess I started this thread for two reasons:
1) Just honestly wanted to know what others were doing :) 2) Remind people to relax if they can about it. I had already found myself starting to drift into this thinking myself as a "number" ideology. Mentally it's been a few years since I've been in that mindset... but it can really get you down!! |
I usually weight 2x a day. Once in the morning and once at night. It helps keep me motivated:carrot:

ugh i ate 3 times the amount of salt I was supposed to today (while somehow staying under 1400 cals lol)...i'm sooo terrified about water retention ruining things when I weigh in tomorow. I can't decide whether to just suck it up and weigh in or skip tomorow and weigh in on friday.

I weigh myself: when I first wake up, after I use the toilet, when I come home from work and before I go to bed. I am definitely obsessed but sometimes it encourages me...like after a big piece of pizza.
I think my obsession comes from not noticing how big I had gotten over the course of a few years because I refused to step on a scale. Last week I stayed with my cousin's kids for four day while she was on vacation and couldn't find her scale. I was pleasantly surprised when I weighed myself after the weekend and it went down! I was SO expecting a gain! |
Except to check it to start posting here, I haven't weighed myself since the beginning of July. It is a new thing I am trying. I am results obsessed, so when I don't see the scale moving I tend to get discouraged and quit dieting/exercising/whatever I am doing to lose weight. This way, I am observing physical differences in how I look, how my clothes fit, and how I feel, and I guess that is what is most important anyway. But just talking about it makes me really curious, and glad I am at work, sans scale!

When I'm losing weight, I weigh too often. When I am gaining weight, not often enough!

Whenever I feel like it (anywhere from once a day to whenever I go to the bathroom), but it does typically end up just being after I pee, since that's when I'm in the bathroom anyway. I... don't take any clothes off, except for shoes. I'm happy as long as the needle is between 165 and 170.
But that's actually kind of a good point. I got a 10 dollar ANALOG scale from Walmart and the numbers are so small that I can't read them without taking a picture of it with my camera while standing on it and zooming in afterwards. So... I only have an official weigh-in once every 2 weeks, when I do that. That's the only time I change my weight here. Other than that it's like a sort of... eye-balling it. Like oh I'm still around 165 (not sure of the exact number)... that's good. I'm not going to SEE things like that I'm up .2 pounds, so I never even have to worry about that kind of thing bothering me. :D And I ONLY weighed once every 2 weeks PERIOD until I was actually happy with my weight. Because before then if I WAS up a few pounds I'd get depressed, but now it doesn't bother me, as long as I'm still in the 160's, since I'm happy here. So basically... GO ANALOG SCALE! |

LOL I thnk 85% of us are scale obsessed! I used to weigh myself everyday....but of course youre not going to loose 2-3lbs overnight. Sometimes you'll weigh in heavier than the day before and when that happens I get depressed than dont care all day and eat badly/dont workout. So I now only weigh myself once a week (tuesdays) in the morning, after I go pee, naked. I get on and off 3 times to make sure it's right lol. But its better to weigh once a week because you usually loose 2-3lbs a week and youll be SO HAPPY, I think it'll motivate you more to do it only once a week!

I used to do it daily....think I need to go back to that. It keeps me a little more accountable.
