Agree with those who say good advice, bad title. My sister has always followed a lot of those routines, and I've never considered her to be effortlessly thin. She's thin, but she works for it. The people I consider effortlessly thin would be people like my friend, Katie, who eats massive quatities of food and never, ever exercises. It's mind-boggling how little effort she puts into her weight. That said, I knew a lot of effortlessly thin girls in grade school. But in adulthood, Katie is really the only person I know who doesn't have to work at her weight.
I have a lot of "effortlessly thin people" who are my friend, and even though those are the rules to follow they really don't. They just have super high metabolism my boyfriend will sit down with a hole large pizza and ranch and chow down wile playing video games all day and NO GAIN A POUND i tell you its depressing.
That was very interesting and I agree with all of them. Those are the 10 things I try to keep myself doing. Eating every three hours goes against what my weight-loss-obsessed mind wants me to do, but I agree it's best to keep the metabolism up.
I weigh every day. If I start seeing a number I don't like, I get back into focus.
I don't see this as a diet; I see it as a life style change.
I am active every day for at least 30 minutes.
I keep away my trigger foods.
I try not to associate my sadness with food.
I eat breakfast every morning.
And I eat 5-6 meals a day.
I definitely agree with the lot - especially the fidgeting one! I have noticed a lot of my slimmer friends can't sit still. They can't fathom the idea of sitting on the couch and watching a whole movie!
I need to work on listening to myself. I am so use to eating something I like until I burst because I feel like I won't EVER EAT IT AGAIN after that night because I am going to wake up and be perfect forever the next morning. WRONG.
I need to be able to enjoy an indulgent meal every so often and realize that I will see this meal again, so I don't have to eat until I burst because even though I am working to lose weight I am also working on a life style that includes some of my favorite meals now and again.
--But anyway-- Yes, great article. Thanks for sharing.
I agree with pretty much everything in the 10 except for the weigh-in which several people have commented on already.
As someone mentioned in their post, I have anxiety so weighing in every week, let alone every day, is NOT a good idea for me. My boyfriend put the scale away because I would come back after weighing in all discouraged and depressed but, again, whatever works for you.
I want to add that I think before pictures and then continually taking pix every once in a while is better than the scale for monitoring progress and seeing results. (Looking at the pix with another person helps you see the progress you've made.)
