Hello, I just recently joined and have decided to lose some weight and get a more healthy body. I'm currently 161lbs standing at 5'9 I've been this weight for several years. I'm 18 so I hope it's not a burden for me to post here. I'm reading through a lot of these threads and they're very inspiring. I just don't know where to begin.. thanks everyone for posting.

Weighed in at 164.0! :carrot: I think this is the lowest # I've seen since I had kids!! :D

KurLEQ 11-09-2009 01:16 AM

lol, just keep swimming You didn't feel any different that week? I'm kidding. I guess it's like asking someone if they feel any older on their birthday.

I had a big surprise this weekend. Firstly, I haven't been exercising. I didn't know why until today... I told ya'll a few weeks ago that we were renovating our bathroom and I've literally been spending all my free time tiling, painting, screwing things into walls, etc. Every time I jumped on the scale it would be lower than expected (I'm fairly good at guess-timating my weight) and then I realized all those things I've been doing ARE exercise. It may not be conventional exercise but I know that when I'm going to bed I'm usually exhausted and when I wake up my muscles ache. Plus, not having a minute to be bored has really cut into my unhealthy snacking!

Another non-scale surprise came when my parents, sisters and I decided to go shopping together on Friday night. We live in an urban area and didn't want to take two cars (lack of parking, gas, etc.) so we all piled into my mom's Tucson. What was once a uncomfortable backseat ride (hips touching, elbows in ribs, knees knocking) with my sisters is now a pretty pleasant experience! Together we have lost 30 pounds since the last time we were all in the car together and this time there was enough room to put my purse next to me on the seat!!:carrot:

Well I better get going! Hope everyone had an awesome weekend. Welcome to the new girlies!

Echo 11-09-2009 11:04 AM

Thats the spirit sweettooth!!! good luck!
oh i hear ya on the procrastination when it comes to exercise i can be like that too!!

:welcome: Brittnoiserz you are so very close to hitting through the 150s! good luck!!!

Amba Dawn, congrations! you're over half way . well done!!! :celebrate:

thats fantastic Kurri that you were losing weight, yah all that hard work is exercise!!

aww thats so cute about there being room in the backseats. aww thats fantastic!! bless !

you're so close to the 150s Kurri! good luck. i want you in the 150s thread with me very soon!!!

---

i had a major binge on doritos yesterday. it was BAD! also had hot chocolate and a cookie. and some other potato chips, ate 1000 calories OVER my limit! so then i had to workout for 2 hours to burn all that crap ! so it wouldnt affect my weigh in today. thankfully it didnt. but boy did i feel sick during my workout at times. its so true, when you eat crap you do feel sick during workouts. boy did i sweat alot and was exhausted, but i'm glad i did it.

because all week i've been working out really hard, and i didnt want 1 stupid binge to throw all my hard work out the window.

but i'm happy to report a 2.2lb loss since last monday :) so i'm a happy bunny :bunny2:

well like i said last week, if i maintained it till monday i would leave the 160s thread and join the 150s. i think its time for me to move forward. and take the plunge, even though i am scared of getting back to the 160s again, but i'm gonna take a gamble on me!

i'm happy to leave the 160s, but i'm sad to leave all you wonderful girls ! you're all are so kind and supportive, i will miss you! and i hope i see you all in the 150s thread VERY SOON!!

good luck everyone! see you on the other side ;)

i'm at 161 and my goal is to be 159 by next week!

EsperanzaBella82 11-09-2009 07:26 PM

165.6 today. I'm trying to be in the 150's by Thanksgiving. Ambitious, yes, but I am determined!

Brittnoiserz 11-09-2009 08:35 PM

I don't know how much I weigh (don't have a scale) but I can literally tell the difference in just two days of working out. This feels great! Thank you!

I finally made it to the 160's, now I'm ready to get the heck outta here, lol.

I've been toggling back between 168 & 169, put I'm PMSing and ate a lot more sodium over the weekend than I normally do, so I'm blaming water gains.

KurLEQ 11-09-2009 09:22 PM

:carrot: Congrats, Echo!! I'm so happy for you! If I don't make it over to the 150s forum this week, I'll meet you there next week!:hug:

Welcome, Nella! We have very similar stats! I hope you breeze through the 160s! I had a hard time getting past 171-168 but it's coming off much quicker now!

sweettooth 11-10-2009 12:54 AM

Oh congratulations ECHO
all you ladies are such an inspiration

Nella 11-10-2009 02:36 PM

Yay Echo!!!

And thanks Kurri! Our SW/GW stats are almost identical, lol. I can't wait to see the lower 160's! If I can get past 168 I'll zoom through. I'm pretty sure it's Pre-TOM water gain combined with my salt over-indulgence that is keeping me here right now. Calories have been OP, so no reason for a gain on that end.

It seems like I was stuck at 178 too. It's like my body likes to hang in on the 8's, lol.

Well Echo, I didn't make it to the 150s this week but with a 2.4 pound loss, I'm pretty darn close at 161.2!!!!! I have now lost 30.8 pounds since July 26, 2008 and 16.2 pounds since September 2, 2009! Today is probably one of the happiest days I've ever had. I even allowed myself a homemade, straight out of the oven, chocolate chip cookie to celebrate!

rainsweptviola 11-12-2009 03:08 AM

Welcome to all the newbies!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ECHO for getting to the 150's thread!!!!!!! I'm so close to joining you, and it won't be long! :-) I finally got back on the treadmill after being off for like two months with a foot injury, which is probably why I've been just maintaining for so long.

I saw 158.6 last Friday morning because I'd been on a liquid diet for two days (doctor ordered). OH it felt so good to see that. I immediately went back up when I ate, but tonight I weighed in at 160.4, and that's at night! If I can see 159.9 or lower every morning for 7 days I'll join the 150's thread - I might make an appearance over there now for motivation. It will be my first "thread change"! :-)

Keep going you guys, seeing your progress is seriously inspiring! :carrot:
