tkm, I'm not being "down on shelters". I'm just saying I know this animal is going to a loving home instead of a cramped kennel with an unknown future. I understand shelters do their best. And I'm absolutely disgusted at puppy mills. But in this case, no puppy mill is involved; my friend originally saved their dog from a shelter, not a pet store.
If I was able to save every animal from going to a shelter, I would.
And good news! My friend that's adopting Paisley met her today and totally fell in love! So by the next week or two she goes to her new home!

And what's even greater is that both of my friends know each other...so one gains a new family member and the other can check up on her and know how she's doing.
