It would be pretty cool to be able to have trainers and all that jazz, but there's no way I would have time for it. Not with two kids, cleaning, working, etc. No way. They should have a show where they have the people working out for 1 or 2 hrs a day and eating healthy. Then they spend time with their families, clean, work, etc. Real life situations instead of being stuck at a ranch or whatever it is!
Although, I would absolutely love to have Jillian as a personal trainer! She would do well at getting my lazy @$$ in shape! Bob's pretty freakin cool too.

princess2323 12-08-2008 11:33 PM

that would be a great show aangel--- would totally go for it !

aangel22 12-09-2008 01:04 PM

Too bad the networks would probably thing it is a bad idea! Not enough drama for them. ;)

I started to cut out wheat today. Jelbb was talking about it and she has had success with it, so I figure why not? I know it will work. My mom was doing LA Weightloss years ago and cut out all bread and pasta and lost 50+ lbs. Unfortunately she went off the diet and gained it back, but it does work. You just have to make it a permanent change.

Beautiful Ace 12-09-2008 01:33 PM

I don't eat nearly as much bread as I used to, and pasta... OMG pasta is my absolute favorite, but now instead of pasta, i use cauliflower with all the same pasta sauces and veggies and ground beef, cauliflower doesn't have an over powering taste, so it's still almost as good as pasta with sauce

Maddie89 12-09-2008 03:14 PM

Well, I've decided I'm going to post these pictures, and whenever I feel I can see a change in my body, post new comparison photos. I don't know why I feel the need to do it, I think it's just that it might help motivate me, wanting to show you guys that there's changes being made!

aangel22 12-09-2008 10:57 PM

That's a good idea, Ace! I might be able to bring myself to do this...but not tonight! I have to build some courage up first! ;) It is good to have some pics for motivation. It will be even better when we can post pics of when we have 10, 20, 30+ lbs lost! I know we can do it!
BTW, how were you able to get such a good back shot?

Beautiful Ace 12-09-2008 11:24 PM

I just held my phone over my shoulder and took the pic in the mirror.

QTestRDH 12-09-2008 11:35 PM

Congratulations on getting you're eliptical Ace! You'll have to let us all know how you like it!

I'm trying to build up the courage to take some pictures, I've already lost 18lbs but I'm sure at the end of this I'll be kicking myself if I don't have pictures even if they aren't from the very beginning, to show how hard I've worked and how far I got! I'm just scared to see the pictures, I mean I stare at it everday in the mirror, but there's something a little bit more real about my giant hips and butt when its solidified in a picture!! Haha, or maybe thats just my neurotic thinking!

Beautiful Ace 12-09-2008 11:38 PM

I hear ya girl... it's not the easiest thing to do!!!

Beautiful Ace 12-10-2008 06:57 AM

Weird...... im on my period, and i just weighed in at 304..... does a period ever make somebody lighter? lol

aangel22 12-10-2008 09:10 AM

Ace: you are really losing fast! I'm jealous;) I have never weighed less during a period! Actually I haven't had a period for about 11 months...I got pregnant at the end of December last year, still haven't gotten it back since having our baby in Sept... I'm sure it is going to come any day though, it is just waiting for the worst time to happen!

I only have one mirror in the house and it is the medicine cabinet mirror in our tiny bathroom. It is actually two mirrors(sliding doors), so it may be a little hard for me to use it for pics. I will try though! Maybe later tonight or tomorrow I will have some pics to post.:o

Beautiful Ace 12-10-2008 09:11 AM

if you're using a digi, I'm pretty sure there is a timer on it. you can always set the timer, aim is somewhere, run to get into the picture and SNAP... if you're off on the aim, just go according to which way it needs to go or w.e

princess2323 12-10-2008 04:25 PM

so as i've gained back 2 lbs --- i've decided to cut rice out of my diet=== i ate a lot of rice this week---but still not nearly as much rice as i used to but i did have it for like 3 or 4 times this week--- so byebye rice=== obviously bad for me--- course i still ate OP and didnt eat anything out of the ordinary --- so hopefully this weight will go right back off --- and since i just posted the grades for my courses--- i' am done for the semester and officially on winter break!!!---course that means i won't have a paycheck for almost a month-- so that sucks! but i'll just have to live off of the hubby's paycheck for the time being---lol

Ha, I'm trying the opposite! Rice isn't the problem for me, it's the wheat. So, I'm cutting out all wheat, wheat flour, etc. and replacing it with rice, oats, and rice pasta. I'm interested in seeing how this all will work. Certain foods must do different things with different people! Good luck;)

aangel22 12-10-2008 10:58 PM

BTW, I found a helpful little link with some tips on successful weight loss:
http://www.lose100pounds.org/35-100/02.html

Beautiful Ace 12-11-2008 05:16 AM

You might think this is a weird idea aangel, but why don't you try cauliflower in place of your pasta... make the dishes as you usually would, but use cauliflower instead of pasta... I've only really done this with spaghetti, but it's good. Cauliflower is great with moms spaghetti

Maddie89 12-11-2008 07:33 AM

Ugh my weight is yoyoing like crazy. I'm up loads since the second last weigh in. It just leaves me feeling so annoyed and the weight loss just goes out the window.
I've lost my drive....any advice?

Beautiful Ace 12-11-2008 01:33 PM

I'm not super good at advice but all I can say is, it's not worth giving up. Even if you're not losing weight at the moment, at least you're being healthy.

Beautiful Ace 12-12-2008 01:41 PM

I don't know what's going on but I now weigh 301.... :D

Don't give up! I hate my scale right now. It went up 1.6 lbs and hasn't budged all week. I'm a little depressed and have been eating a few bad things *caramels*, but only like 4 or 6 throughout the day. I'm still within my caloric intake, so I don't know if that is making the difference or not. I know are frustrating it is. I think I am going to just check my weight weekly again instead of daily like this past week. It is just driving me crazy. Stay with us Maddie, you can do it! It won't happen overnight or even in a month, but it has to happen if you are making the right choices!

Ace: Congrats on being down to 301! That is awesome. You are really losing fast! What's your secret?! Also, I tried cauliflower instead of pasta, it was really good. Great idea! I'm not big into eating rice all the time or anything and I only have eaten pasta about once every other month. It was just eating bread and cereal all the time that was getting me. I just decided to try Jelbb's wheat-free diet.

I'm still trying to figure out why I'm not losing weight this week. I can't really cut out anything else in my diet...except the caramels!:o I don't drink soda, eat fast foods, fried foods or wheat anymore? So what the heck is going on??

Beautiful Ace 12-12-2008 02:50 PM

If I knew what my secret was, I would be telling everyone. But I really don't know... I haven't eliminated anything completely from my every day diet. I obviously eat smaller portions and stop when I'm full, eat fruits and veggies, and drink a coffee and a V8 every day. I have not gone near any sort of sweets, or junk food. I turned down a cupcake at school just today! Felt so amazing to be able to say no thank you, and not even want it..

aangel22 12-14-2008 11:36 AM

I have had such a crazy week with my weight! It went up from 212 to 213.6, stayed at that weight for about 4 days. It then went down to 212.6. Yesterday, I felt, I had a horrible day. I didn't get enough calories in the morning, but had two Christmas parties that evening so I figured I would catch up there. I had some veggies, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese at the first party(that was all there really was besides the fried chicken and desserts that I stayed away from!). The last party was for my work and was held at a bar. Our pharmacist, the pharmacy manager, bought appetizers for everybody to share. Nachos, buschetta, hot wings, and some kind of crab stuff. I had a bit of the nachos, half a wing, and the crab stuff. I ordered a toss salad, but only was able to eat half. *We were too busy talking to really eat* BUT, I had a bunch to drink. I drank bacardi and diet coke, which was originally my plan to just stick to that drink. My husband got me three fruity drinks, so I don't even know what kind of calories were in them! By the end of the night, I was really feeling it.:o (I haven't been able to drink like that for about a year!) Anyway, I was really expecting a gain because I went overboard yesterday. I weighed in at 211!!! I had to check my scale about 4 times to make sure it was right. ;) How did that happen?! I'm not complaining too badly though!:D

Beautiful Ace 12-14-2008 03:13 PM

That;s great! Congrats on the loss!!!

I made myself really proud last night at a party, there was chips everywhere and I didn't eat any. I drank a full big a$$ bottle of wine though.. ahaha Then later some of us walked to the corner store, and I got a smart pop, small bag, 270 cals, and in my drunken state bought a chocolate bar, but then decided not to eat it. Just gave it to my mom today.

shaunabear 12-14-2008 05:39 PM

Ugh..this week sucked. Somehow I gained weight, like a pound and a half. I was 188.4 last weigh in now I'm at 189.9. Wtf? I don't know what I did wrong.

Oh and Ace, the cauliflower idea to replace pasta was WONDERFUL. It was awesome, I just tried out like 30 minutes ago and I loooooved it. Thanks for the idea. =)

Beautiful Ace 12-14-2008 06:51 PM

You're welcome shauna! I'll tell my mom you said so:P

chunckymonkey 12-14-2008 07:33 PM

Hi everyone, sorry about last week - I put in really long hours and tried to get my holiday shopping finished -which is the reason I didn't post - I wasn't home...

Anyway, I wish all of you a wonderful holiday and hopefully you'll be able to spend it with your families. My children are grown and in the military (Army) - Son is in Germany and Daughter in Seattle. They will be deploying around August and I will be raising my two grandbabies-Autumn 3 and the newly arrived Teagan Winter (born on Wed) for 12 to 18 mths. I was fortunate to be there for Autumn's birth - and not being there for Teagan is - well, let's just say - pics are not cutting it. This is the first holiday where it will be just my husband and myself...I know it's not a bad thing but ... I just want you all to know how important you are to your parents. It doesn't matter how old you are - it's the warm, bright light feeling we parents feel every time our children enter the room...no one else but you can bring that light to us...YOU ARE THE MOST SPECIAL, WONDERFUL, MIRACULOUS, Spirits on earth...

My wish for you all would be that you always know how important you are to someone - just because your YOU!

Here's my stats...

Oh, I really want to believe that...my parents really don't want anything to do with me. This is the second Christmas that we will be missing with them. Mainly my mom wants nothing to do with me, but my dad sticks by her. They return cards, hang up on phone calls, or plain just don't answer. My mom doesn't even want to meet our younger son, and he is only 3 months old. All this because she doesn't like who I married, and he is a wonderful person. She didn't even come to our wedding... So I really want to believe that I and my children, at least, are important to them...but their actions speak for themselves.:(

As long as my babies and husband love me, that is all I really need. Although, it would be nice for my parents to let go of this grudge and we can be a normal family!

is there such a thing? Sorry to hear that. That must be really hard:hug: but you are lucky to have a wonderful husband and babies by your side.

chunckymonkey 12-14-2008 09:54 PM

Oh Aangel, I am so sorry to hear that...my mom feels that way about my husband for we don't have a big house and alot of monetary things, at least compared to other family members... alas, we also have the most fun and the least amount of debt. Some people you can not change only accept...but should your children ever go against your will when their heart leads them somewhere else...You Will Support Them Anyway which will make you the Best Mom In the Whole World In Their Eyes". Be Proud of Yourself...I feel that way about you for I read your posts!

Aw, thanks chunckymonkey! I always felt that a parent would love and support their children unconditionally, so it doesn't make sense to me that they act the way they do. I know that I could never do that to my two boys. It would kill me!
