Cali- I don't know if it's a proven. Actually from what I've heard most people gain weight with alcohol b/c they end up eating things they shouldn't and are not in their right state of mind so to speak. When I was a drinker, I was just that a drinker and didn't eat other stuff. I believe that alcohol is pretty much pure sugar once it's digested, not sure so it could spike up your blood sugar. It was just my experience. On the making time for food thing, I've learned that I cook a lot of Sunday. I pretty much cook for the week for my lunch and some dinners. Like I'll cook a big pan of baked chicken and put it in individual baggies so I can grab and go through out the week. I even make my breakfast the night before so I can zap it real quick and go. Maybe that will work for you.

Thanks, Silver.

My goal is to keep cutting back, re-join the land of the healthy eating, get my butt on that elliptical and really focus on my studying. Zero smoking will come in time but for now it's progression and not perfection.

WOW, that must have been so difficult to tackle so many things at once! Bravo to you just for trying... For me, it takes me forever to bite the bullet and actually start something because I keep telling myself I have to start everything all at the same time. I.e. I've wanted to lose weight for forever but I've always told myself I would start on x and from that day on I would eat healthy, no junk whatsoever, exercise every single day, etc and that would be the only way I'd lose weight... Needless to say it is really freaking hard to work up the courage to do that! I always had some reason why it wasn't the right time to start. I'm glad that I finally figured out that I could take baby steps towards a healthier lifestyle and still lose weight. ;)

Cal, I lost alot of weight when I was about 15 and I was drinking heavily on a regular basis - but back then I also didn't eat much. I'm hoping my scale doesnt reflect in a few days time! Dont worry I'm sure you'll have dropped a lb! Even if you dont, i bet it'll come down in a day or two.

Here we go How fantastically are you doing? :D Inspirational!

Bella Hope you both have a wonderful B/day! is it jut me or were half of 3FC born in August? :dizzy:

 Thanks Spoz.

Honestly, I think I conquered a fear that I had about eating. Like eating = weight or even bad.

Now, I'm eating more, losing weight, FEEL better, and not scared to eat. A couple weeks ago or even last week, I was afraid to move from 1400 cal to 1800 now I'm comfortable at 1800-2000 and I'm ok and not over eating. I am eating more and more often, but it's ok. I appreciate y'all being there because I'm single and I don't have a "weight loss support system"

I heart you guys!!! We can all so do this! Everyone of you are amazing!

I hear ya! A few days ago I had one of those 'enlightening' moments where I thought ... how much easier would the weight loss journey be if we were just positive? Really when you think about it, we're all doing something fantastic for ourselves...we're being healthy and giving our bodies and minds what they deserve.

Very logical but sometimes those thoughts just smack you in the face and you realized you missed them all along.

I have to bang my head against the same dang brick wall a million times before I go "a ha! This maybe why I have a headache!"

That is so funny! I'm right there with you. I may have to invest in a helmet... I'm just kidding! Not trying to pick on people with helmets.

Oh what a day! lol *insert foot in mouth here* _____

I hear ya! I'm trying to make myself a more positive person. I noticed that a gal I work with veiw the world through negative eyes, every single aspect of it. She never has anything nice to say and she is the unhappiest person I've ever met. I decided I will do the opposite of everything she does. If she critisizes something, I immedialty jump in with a positive view of the situation. Now why didn't I think of doing that with weight loss yet?

Ghost- what does she do when you do this? I'm sure you're her favorite person.

*grumble* so I work every other Friday and it's no secret that after 6 hours at work, I'm hungry. My friends know this. So I get a call, like "What time do you get off?" and I'm like (suspicious) "Why?" And she's like, "We're going to get something to eat." But I'm focused. I HAVE to drop a pound this week or I’ll be going head first into a deep depression spiral that will result in me inhaling a bacon cheese burger. So I'm like, "Can't. I'm broke. You know I have a $200 hair appointment this weekend." And she says, "Don't worry about it. We got you. We're going to Kincaids..."

Which made my mouth water because they have this open face crab sandwich with cheese on a baguette and...It’s sooooo good. Plus it comes with fries--and you guys know how I am about fries. But I was like, "I'll pass." and she wants to know why...Like I haven't been watching my weight religiously for the last 6 months!

Do you guys remember that study a few months back that was telling skinny folks to watch out around their fat friends because we could cause them to become obese? That is soooo ridiculous. My friends are driving me crazy with this mess. I know they aren’t purposely trying to sabotage me, but I'm going to stop answering my phone soon.

^ Bummer about friends trying to push food on you, heh. I've definitely been there, though my friends have no idea that I'm trying to lose weight (or at least, I haven't told them yet) so I know that they're not doing it on purpose... Sounds like your friends probably aren't either. But I've been using the same excuse--I'm going to Disney World in a couple weeks, so all summer if I wanted to pass on some food-related item, I'd just say "Sorry guys, I'm still saving for Disney," etc. It works pretty well until someone offers to pay for me! Lol then it gets harder to come up with reasons not to go grab food... I'm sure they're getting sick of me saying "I had a really big dinner," "no thanks, I'm good," "I'm not really hungry," etc. Haha! But a round of applause to you for saying no!! French fries are one of my biggest weaknesses for sure, so I know how hard that can be. ;)

I'm excited because I'm going to see "The House Bunny" with a bunch of my friends in a little bit! It's one of those movies that looks so incredibly dumb that no one will admit that they secretly really want to see it, hehe. Though it's kind of bittersweet, since almost all of my closest friends are leaving for school tomorrow, so it's kind of our last outing together, the last time I'll see them until Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, I'll be stuck at home for another month while they're off having fun at school. (My school is on quarters, not semesters, so it starts way later than most schools). I'm going to be sooo bored. Luckily I'll have 3FC to keep me occupied! Heh. :D
