I've got an hour and some change. The last hour always drags on like sixth period use to on Fridays. I cannot wait to get home...and workout of course. ;-)
|
Today is my scheduled day off from the gym (after 5 days in a row I'm saying I deserve it). I can't wait to get home and vegitate in front of my tv for once.
|
hey everyone!!! Hope you all have a great week...
I didn't sleep very good last night..usually Sunday nights I don't...up at 130 and 300..all the water i am drinking :(! and then I had to get up this morning at 6am....I have to be at work for 730...Did my first attempt last night at c25K...worried that I won't get to do it this week because my bf is home tomorrow (he works away for 21 days and then home for 7) and I like to spend as much time with him as possible..but I have to go out there and do it! |
Thanks for the comments everyone!! It's this place that makes me the most determined. The support from it is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!

BIG NSV for me today at work!! (I know, weird place for an NSV...)
Anyway, I was trying to sell a customer some dessert (money hasn't been too great lately and I need people buying as much as possible!), and she said "Sure, you can eat that kind of stuff, you're skinny!" I almost dropped the plates I was holding. ME??? SKINNY???? WHAAAAAAAAT? |

How many of you went for weeks without realizing you just might be robbing your body of some of the nutrients it needs? I think I've been really skimpy on calcium. Whoops!
|
Protein and iron tend to be my issue since I don't really eat meat on a regular basis and I haven't found an adequate substitute just yet. I'm working on it.
|
Yes, protein is the kicker for me, too. I've been pretty religious about weight lifting, so I've had to make an extra effort to get the protein in. Since I'm not a big meat eater, so it usually means a protein shake at some point in the day. They are a nasssttttyyyy way to spend 220 calories, but get the job done.

By the way everybody thanks for the gym encouragement. I asked my best friend if she'd come and she also suffers anxiety so I honastly thought she'd say no, but she's going to join gym too. So we can have our induction together and both workout. I'm pretty excited about it now :D |
I'm nut an eater either. And tofu looks a little iffy for me. I did do protein shakes a couple of years ago and after a while, you get used to the taste, but yick! But I am going to buy some peanut butter.
Meanwhile, I lost last night. I reached right passed the frozen broccoli and had french fries and barbeque sauce. Added up the calories and it was about 800 cals (I only bake my fries so that I can throw them in the over for 45 minute while I do something else), which took me to about 2000 for the day, so I didn't feel too bad. I'll just add a little extra to my workout today. Off topic: but how do people live in Florida? My friend moved to Fort Myers 2 years ago and there hasn't been a serious storm on that side of the state since she has live there. And now there is a tropical storm right over her city. And she had to sit and just wait there for it. If someone told me an earthquake was coming, I wouldn't be able to just sit there and wait to see how it turns out. |
Hi everyone! I finally got with the program and realized that there was a new thread for this week... D'oh! :dizzy:
I'm a vegetarian too! It is pretty hard to make sure that I get enough iron and protein, but I mostly resolve it by having Total cereal for breakfast almost every day (I think of it like a multi-vitamin, but in cereal form ;)) and adding tofu to basically half of my meals. I also eat a lot of beans, and I drink soy milk instead of regular milk. I think I've been getting enough protein, but when I first stopped eating meat (a little over 3 years ago) I definitely didn't think about trying to keep a balance of all the things I ate... I probably ate all carbs and dairy (like cheese) for the first few months! :p |
I like Tofu and soy things, but I'm eat meater for sure!
Someone told me that soy slows down your metabolism. Has anyone heard this before? |
I tried to get my husband to try some soy hot dogs. I even said we could make them chili dogs. He cautiously tried it but just couldn't get behind it. I picked hot dogs because it seemed like the thing he'd most likely be willing to try. At least he tried!
