Default running question..

So.. For the C25K I am on W3D1 and it says to run 400 yards or 3 minutes. Well is it whichever comes first? Like if I run 400 yards faster than 3 minutes, it is safe to assume to start the 400 yard walk? If I don't run the 400 yards do I stop at 3 minutes? I usually run at a 5.5 pace so I don't know if I could get to 400 yards in 3 minutes.. Also I did the calculation and 400 yards is .22 miles. Would I do the same thing with the 90 second/ 200 yards thing too? TIA

In the explanation above the schedule, they say to choose whichever works best for you. (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml) I run outside, where it's hard to guess distances, so I just go by time.

What mayness said - btw hi mayness! I've missed you since the old c25k thread. Glad to see you are still running.

Anyway, I think of it like this - I don't run as fast as some, so at the end of my c25k training I wasn't EXACTLY running a 5k, but I was sure doing a heck of a lot more than I could before. For me, time is way more convenient, and if you have any interest in the podcasts, he does his prompts on time.

Good luck and way to get running!

Thanks girls! I just did the distance and it worked out. I just hope I can keep the same running speed as I was in the beginning. Congrats Amarie2pt0 on the 70 lb loss!
