Default any college students out there? =)

Hey everyone, I've been a fan of 3fatchicks for a while and finally mustered up the motivation to join their forums. So I'm 20 years old, a college sophomore and I have about 75 pounds more to lose before I get to my goal weight of 145. I've battled with my weight for most of my life, and now I am finally coming to terms with the fact that I need to love myself as I am before I can hope to make changes.

I'm just curious to see if there are other college/grad students out there who are going through the same thing because we all know - it's tough. My last few weeks have had definite mishaps, but as they say, take it one day at a time. I do have a wordpress blog tracking my progress, reviews of weight loss products, and recipes. The wordpress username is the same as mine here. Feel free to check it out!

Also: If this is of interest, I recently reviewed the Dorm Room Diet by Daphne Oz and I am working on reviewing Secrets of A Former Fat Chick.

Good luck to you all! I've been reading through quite a few posts and I'm so encouraged by all of you.

Hi! I'm a university student. I'm 19, so not quite a 20-something yet, but I will be in April Good luck to you! I am doing this on my own (I'm doing Weight Watchers but not going to meetings or anything) and 3FC has been my biggest support group and motivation to keep going. I think you'll really like it here!

hey fasttime!!
I hope you're well.
It definately is tough, especially when you're at college. I'm from the Uk and I'm 20 years old as well (wow thats so scary to say) and am in my second year of college over here. THERE are fast food restaurants everywhere, and all my friends are skinny-mini's so when we go out for dinner they can go where they want and eat what they want, while I have to be selective. As tough as it is - it means I still have a social life, and thats totally worth it.
What are you studying? I'm studying English (language and literature).

Ha, I'm in grad school for English.

(er, btw, DON'T GO TO GRAD SCHOOL FOR ENGLISH UNLESS YOU'RE 100% SURE IT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO DO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. ... so says my experience. I came to grad school cos I didn't know what else to do after undergrad and it's basically ****. I can't wait to be done this term.)

....Anyyyway.

Welcome, you'll find that there are tons of college/grad students in this forum in particular, many of whom can relate to your dorm eating problem. Glad to see you here, good luck!

I'm an English major too. This weight loss journey has been a bit hard for me. My family members could be more supportive.
