Default Apples and Pears...

Just wondering what your bodyshape is? And where exactly you lose weight from first/gain weight first! Also if you have had any success in somewhat changing your body shape slightly...

I am very much a pear shape. The place I think I lose weight first (oddly enough) is my hands. I'm hoping as I lose more weight in my hips.

I too am a pear shape, or at least I used to be until the last 25 lbs. The last 25 lbs I gained went almost exclusively to my stomach, and now I just look like a lump.

I'm more of an apple than a pear. The little extra I have is in my boobs and belly. The first place I noticed losing was in my face (chin).

I have wide enough shoulders that I am probably a pear that is close to hourglass. But I lose weight first up top. Its just lovely to be able to wear an XL in some tops and still need a 22 for my hips, butt and belly. I don't think I can lose much more up top before my bottom gets the point.

I have the same thing going on as whyme55. I always gain first in my chest, then my stomach. I don't know if thats an apple or a pear but my friends and I joke that I'm just a real life barbie. You know, proportioned to fall over.

That's exactly me too. And, the 25 lbs that went to my tummy happened much faster than the 25 that went to my thighs. I used to hate my pear shape, but I very much look forward to going back to being a pear.

Boo urns. I hate how you can't lose weight from specific areas. Your body just... burns fat and decides for itself where you're gonna lose it from.
I'm a firm believer that I lose weight from my boobs first and gain it there last. My thighs are GINORMOUS right now, and I've been getting quite the belly going on. Also, my lovehandles are working on getting their own zipcode at the moment, which makes the resulting stretchmarks justifiable... boo!

But I'm usually a pear. A bit leaner on top, but big hips and my tummy fat usually goes to my lower abdomen. (Tummy fat that I'm trying to nip in the bud lest I get front-butt.)

Definitely a pear here!

I carry little weight on my upper body and I tend to lose it there first as well...my collar bones are always protruding and at the moment you can see the points of my shoulder blades at the top and the top chest bones slightly and the muscles in my chest/arms/back are always defined.

I have wide hips...always have! and a little waist...the ratio has always stayed roughly the same. When I was 80kgs (176 pounds) I was 41" hips with 29" waist and at 138 pounds (currently) I'm 37" hips with 25" waist. Same proportions!

I even had a bad time where I dropped to 110 pounds...mostly because I refused to believe my hips wouldn't shrink :P and ended up being 35" hips and a 22" waist lol. Stick insect ugliness though! Blergh!

Oh...and regardless of what my weight is doing...I have NEVER had boobs lol. Small breasted family...ah wells.

I'm neither I'm afraid. I'm a rectangle. Boobs and hips are the exact same 35" and waist is 27". I wish I was an hour glass, but sadly that's not to be.

Have any of you guys looked at the trinny and sussanah website? it's awesome as giving you tips on what clothes to wear for certain "problem areas" which can be especially useful as you begin to lose weight and want to buy nice clothees but aren't quite there yet!

By dressing appropriately you can make youself look much slimmer!

Im a pear but with small bones...my hipbones are tiny as is my waist but my damn thighs just won't budge! Ive managed to lose almost all of my love handles now tho! Which is a trully awesome feeling!
