I wasn't sure exactly where to post my first introduction, but I've been lurking for a couple of weeks now and this seems to be a good place to start.
Hi, all, I'm Lani.
I'm 23, a grad student, and a vegetarian and intensely ready to lose the weight I've been carrying around since I was a little kid. I like my proportionate body, but I'm not exactly thrilled with the proportions I've got, currently.
I'm insanely conscious about the food I buy, cook, and consume, but the exercise part of the deal has never been my strong point. When I resolve myself to the activity, I love it, but it's the getting there that seems to be the worst of it.
But! That said, I'm excited to get started in earnest and to learn what I can from the rest of you fine ladies.
Welcome! I'm pretty much vegetarian myself (I used to eat meat infrequently but have completely cut it out for the past two weeks as part of a "trial run" before taking the plunge permanently). I know what you mean about the proportions too, I never had any particular area that stood out more than the rest, but that didn't make it any better.
I can highly recommend exercise. If you like it once you get going, find a reason to get to the start line. For me it was exercising first thing in the morning before I could think of an excuse to skive. I joined a gym on the way to work and set my alarm early. As I was awake and had to go past it anyway (and I was paying for it) I found myself going in more and more frequently. And it worked.
I hope that you find something that works for you, and welcome again.
to the forum! I too had issues with excercising, but now that I have found what I really love to do, it has made it all the more easier. The good looking coaches are bad either . Once you find what you like to do, it won't become such a chore.
