I had a great day! I stayed on plan again! I wanted to go to the gym but where I have not been there in such a long time before this recent improvement in my health I want to just stick to every other day for now. I will go tomorrow.
I ate:
1 pack of low sugar maple brown sugar oatmeal
1 medium banana
1 cup of FF Milk
Roasted Veggies
Salad with 2 tblsp FF dressing
1 Tangelo
1 Bag 94% FF popcorn
1 smart ones santa fe beans and rice
More Roasted Veggies
Fillet of Salmon 6 oz
1 cup of FF SF pudding
Cool Whip Free
I came in at 29 out of 30 points.
Tomorrow I head for the gym and 35 minutes on the treadmill at 3.2 miles per hour.
Well, my high-cal weekend is over, and I ended the week with an average of 1780 calories per day (right about on target with my goal of 1800)
As for today, I brought a yogurt to eat, but I also made a dangerous birthday treat for a party for a coworker (12" round brownie pizza smothered in a chocolate cream cheese frosting covered with fresh sliced banans and strawberries and topped with a bit of chocolate syrup--also brought chocolate cool whip to top with...can you tell the birthday girls loves chocolate? ), so I may have a small piece of that. I'm not even sure what dinner will be since Jeff is going to the dentist today and may end up having a tooth pulled, so He may want something mushy So much for planning my food for the day--I'll have to come back tonight or tomorrow and confess how it all really went
I tailed off again with my posting in last week's thread. I've been staying on track, eating virtually the same foods every day. I've even been out walking and/or biking too.
Keep up the good work, Darlene and Suz!
That sounds like a heart attack pizza, Jill!
This is my basic plan:
Coffee.
Zone Perfect bar.
Cereal, raisins, 0% milk.
2% cottage cheese on w-w toast.
Fresh pineapple, maybe some yogurt.
Some kind of fish with veggies, brown rice/w-w couscous.
I know it doesn't look very exciting, but I'm trying to stick with bland foods to counteract the chest and stomach pains I've been crippled with during the night. It seemed to be helping too, until last night. I'm guessing it's some kind of digestive problem that'll sort itself out if I lay off the rich, spicy stuff. I don't even have a doctor, and I fully intend to keep it that way.

I'm back from my mini-vacation to Niagara Falls and, true to form, all my good intentions about trying to stay "good" evaporated as soon as I sat down at the dinner table. The hotel was beautiful (it was the same one where Marilyn Monroe stayed during the filming of the movie "Niagara") and the view from the hotel Fallsview Restaurant was wonderful, especially when it got dark and all the different coloured lights lit up the Falls (from our vantage point we could see both the American and Horseshoe (Canadian) falls perfectly. The view the next morning was also lovely (and I'm not just talking about the view of the breakfast buffet table). The morning sunlight glistening on the ice around the falls was very pretty. As for the casino, I did behave there in that I didn't drink or have any snacks. G won $125 within 5 seconds of entering the casino and I lost it all in about half an hour. We won, we lost and we won and lost some more and at the end of the night we were down $100, but had a lot of fun!
Saturday Breakfast
Flax cereal with blueberries and 1% milk Enroute to the Falls
Tim Horton's coffee with cream and "fruit explosion" muffin Dinner (warning Food Porn ahead)
french onion soup with swiss cheese and croutons
boneless breast of chicken with bernaise sauce
jacket potatoes
breaded fried zucchini
buttered carrots
fresh, warm, flaky dinner rolls with butter
chocolate brownie sundae with whipped cream
one glass of chardonney
water At Casino
several glasses of diet coke and water Middle of the night - post Casino, back at hotel room
champagne
chocolate covered strawberries
Sunday (more Food Porn ahead) breakfast buffet
coffee with cream, danish pastry, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast with Canadian maple syrup dinner
hummus, olives and pita
pork shaslik with green peppers and onions
water
Exercise: On Saturday we walked from the hotel to the mouth of the Horsehoe Falls (it was very icy) and on Sunday we stopped at Niagara on the Lake on the way home and did a trail walk along the gorge. As for other exercise, well, it was a Niagara Falls "Romance" package deal.
Glad you had a good time, Jilly. That food sounds heavenly. I think just reading about it added to the digestive problems that seem to have taken up residence in my [supposedly] healthier bod! Thanks for your good wishes, but judging by the pain in my chest and tummy I predict another bad night. Hubby's now threatening to make me register with a doc....
"Vicariously", eh, SAPF? Hmm... looks as though you've got some porn of your own going on there with those brownies!
I stuck with my plan, but the gut rot got me anyway....
Monday
Breakfast: Spoonful or two of bland regular oatmeal (yuck!), egg beater veggie omelet, big spoonful of hash browns, small clump of grapes
Snack: 1/2 Clif bar
Lunch: Wendy's small chili and mandarin oranges
Snack: 1/2 Clif bar and small container of peaches in extra light syrup
Dinner: Outback steakhouse, about 5-6 ounces of filet mignon, salad with cheese and croutons and half the honey mustard dressing, 2 slices of bread with butter, and a potato with butter and sour cream on the side
Munching while late at work: Twix bar
Calories: About 2400
So, it's not as horrid as I feared, though I might've underestimated. I was at under 1000 calories until the dinner. Yikes. I was starved by that time, and we worked late. Good points, though:
1. Breakfast was healthy -- didn't succumb to cheese or bacon or gobs of hash browns!
2. Lunch was healthy -- didn't get a burger and fries like everyone else!
3. Snacks (prior to the Twix) were healthy
4. I drank lots of water
5. I got a potato instead of fries at dinner
6. I skipped the cheese fries appetizer (though succumbed to bread)
7. I got everything (sour cream, butter, dressing) on the side
8. I left a few croutons, and a little steak
9. I picked the smallest steak cut
So, could've been worse. I think I'm being healthier. Ah well. Back to the office again, and finally off of work routine disruptions after the past two weeks!
I ate:
1 packet of oatmeal - low sugar maple brown sugar
1 cup of FF milk
1 banana
1 bag of 94% FF Popcorn
1 cup of natural applesauce
1 Smart Ones Lasagna
Green Beans
Salad with FF Dressing
Kimchi
1 cup of Rice
1 tbsp of Olive Oil
8 points worth of lite spam
1 cup of FF SF pudding with Cool Whip Free
I went to the gym before dinner and walked at 3.4 miles per hour for 35 minutes. I was swinging my arms and jamming to Janet Jackson's Rhytym Nation.
I also lost another pound which makes it 3 pounds.
Looks like a pretty good day here.
Thanks everyone for cheering me on!!
Oh man, yesterday was a DISASTER! It was supposed to be a low-cal day for me and ended up being a way high one instead. I just got extremely lazy and lost all will power. Here's my confession:
cool ranch doritos (regular, not even the baked kind!)
piece of the brownie pizza I made
Papa John's pizza--not 1, but 4 slices with pepperoni!
can of regular ginger ale
Per Fitday, total of about 3152. I sure paid for it, though. I felt sick to my stomach--I'm assuming it was mostly from the grease of the pizza. I drank water but still felt ill, so I had a can of ginger ale, which added even more calories, but it made me feel well enough to at least fall asleep. I will use the reminder of feeling so crappy as motivation to make better choices!
Ok, so here's the goal today, since I weigh in tomorrow morning!
B - 2 pieces wheat toast with PB
L - mixed greens with grilled chicken and little bit of feta cheese
D - a few grilled shrimp and some baked squash and zucchini
Snack- 1/2 a candy bar in the am, a few cups of popcorn in the pm
Calorie goal - 1200-1400
Exercise - an hr on elliptical after class tonight

After having a really tough time w/TOM last week, I seem to have extra energy to workout this week...
Today, when I was finishing up my crunches on the big ball, I look up and PT is standing over me. I said "what's up", apparently there was this meeting and all of the gym employees went, so there was no one downstairs, no one working out we were totally alone. I'm not sure why he was telling me this, but it definitely took my mind off my crunches for a few minutes. Then he left, I guess to the meeting as well. I know I say this all the time, men are strange aren't they?! Anyway, I've have two really good workouts this week.
Here's my food from yesterday...
2 - coffee
1 - egg whites
3 - luna bar
1 - yogurt
2 - banana
1 - coffee
2- 1/2 luna bar
7 - lc chicken
1 - cookie
2 - ww bread 2 - 2 - 1pt cakes
24 points (out of 24)
Exercise: 30 mins ARC (395 cals) + 10 min elipitical (120 cals) = 515 cals, abs, upper body
Well, at least he's talking about being alone, even if he's not taking the opportunity to do anything while its happening, Beth! Yes, men can be very, very strange.
I'll leave your health up to you, Ali, but I think a visit to a walk-in clinic at least is in order if this keeps up!
Well, Jilly Jr., you've now given me the perfect word to describe those times when I can't be bothered to put thought into doing what I need to do to stay on plan. "LAZY". I've never really thought of it that way before, but of course you're right. Well, now that we know what to call it, let's just do our best to avoid it, deal?
Tuesday Morning
fat-free cottage cheese (4) - I had more than usual
frozen blueberries (1)
mug of tea
bottled water Afternoon
vegetable, barley, beef soup (3)
1/2 of a multi-grain bagel (2)
mineola orange (1)
bottled water Evening
baked ham (6)
small portion of mashed potato (3)
baby carrots (1)
bottled water Late evening
6 jujubes (2)
light hot chocolate (1)

I was so happy when I went downstairs to my gym to weigh myself - I lost 6 lbs this week! woo-hoo! I was on TOM last week and only lost a little bit, so this felt really good.
In any case, here's my plan for the day:
B - 1/2 c scrambled eggs with 2 pieces of bacon and 2 small chicken sausage patties
L - 1.5 c of cuban black bean soup and small chicken breast
D - probably a subway ham and cheese deli sandwich and bag of baked lays before practice
Snack after practice - orange
Exercise - 2 hrs of rugby practice tonight
Good job and good luck today everyone!
