I can certainly relate to your experience...
I'm a nursing student and last semester I had to do a clinical observing the circulating nurse in the OR. OR has their own locker rooms and special scrubs that everyone who will be in the operating room is required to wear. I wear a size 3x top and 3xlong scrub pants (in the Cherokee brand anyway). I looked through the cabinet of scrubs for my size, and thought I found some to wear.
NOPE!
The 3x top wouldn't even fit across my back for me to get my other arm through... I had to find the nurse working at the desk and she had to find me scrubs from the men's locker room - they barely fit, but at least it worked.

It surprised me that the scrub sizes available were sooo far off from what I was wearing, as Cherokee is a very popular brand for scrubs (that is the brand required for our nursing uniforms).
I just used the experience as one more motivator to get on the path to health and weight loss.

Melody....
I am so sorry that happened to you!!!! I can think of so many times similar things have happened to me. One time....(and this was when I weighed 160 something)....I walked into the OR during my surg tech clinicals....the circulating nurse always pulls the gowns, etc that the scrub team puts on to be in on the case...anyways....she looked at me and said...."can you fit into the regular gowns or do i need to pull an extra large one". It was soooo rude...I couldn't even concentrate on the case...I felt like crying the entire time.
Another time...this was just a year ago or so...I had been thinking about getting a new hairstyle. I really liked the cut on the girl on the front of a catalog that was laying on our desk at work. I say "ooohhh..I like that" and our house supervisor goes "Olivia, I'm sorry you could never, ever pull that off". I'm like "what the heck".......and she must have realized I was talking about the hair and goes "oh..I thought you were talking about the outfit she was wearing...that just wouldn't look good on you". The outfit was like some little capri's and one of those tiny babydoll tops. I went in the bathroom and cried.

I just chop it up to the fact that some people are extremely rude and have no sense of tact whatsoever!!! Anyways...Melody..I feel for you...you are beautiful and wonderful....don't let it get you down.
luv,
Olivia
