Let's see...a long time ago, when I was fifteen..I had a super-duper bad-*** butthead of an abusive boyfriend. He took me away from my Mom to a Native reserve in Kamloops. I was pregnant (miscarriages are sometimes meant to be) We were fighting and I was trying to run away from him. He ground my face in the dirt at the side of the Trans-Canada highway..when I got up..I broke his eardrum..I don't feel too bad about it..
And so you shouldn't. The one I hit was similar, he was abusive too, I don't just go around hitting people, but when you fear for your life it is such a different thing. Good job fighting for your life! Thank God you are still here to tell about it.

Thanks FSC!

That whole time in my life now feels like a dream (nightmare) when I think about it.

I CANNOT fathom how that little girl let someone treat her so badly.
Today, at 27 I've learned many lessons in life and if my husband ever raised a hand to me..it would be for the first and last time!

Thank goodness I don't have to even consider the thought.

Congratulations to you, too..for making it through the tough times in your own life...and thank God you're still here to tell about it as well

Linda - it's odd, for some reason I thought you were older than me, I mean, you are, but only by a year. You are very wise and kind for your age I'm very happy to hear that you wouldn't let a man hit you, I'd love to teach all the young girls out there that very thing..

Marge - you are too nice! And I am available in two sizes, 500ml and 1 L, heh.. uhm wait, that wasn't funny...

Aww, Aimee...thank you!

I'm just so thankful that my own son and daughter will NEVER have to witness such a thing..they will always have a Mom and Dad who can show her what a respectful relationship looks like (not a perfect relationship...but always respectful, and never any yelling..silence would be more of a problem in that area!)

Rudy and I just celebrated our 11th anniversary since we first got together, and will hit our 10th wedding anniversary next summer...that HAS to count for some wisdom..doesn't it? Or maybe the opposite...getting married at 18...how INSANE is that????

Thanks, Aimee...you made my day

Linda PS (you know we're only a 1.5 hr. ferry ride away from each-other, right?)

Linda - I've never been on that Ferry before! Sad, eh? I know for myself I needed to explore myself before I was ready for a relationship, it took be until I was 20. Even now I'm not always ready to compromise in arguements.. I'm so stubborn! It's interesting, I was a raised by a feminist single mother, she's always taught me that I am whole without a relationship.. it's amazing how many people don't know that.. Glad that I could make your day
