Darlene, when the show first started there was a lot of people who commented that they were turned off by the show because they felt that the people making the show were focusing on what they called fat shots, like with the contestants getting weighed in wearing their bathing suits so you could see rolls of flab. The comments were that they felt that the show was almost making fun of fat people, that it was exploitive and stereotypical. I disagree because I think they are just showing the plain cold facts. Also doesn't it make a huge impact when you see how amazing they look afterwards??

Thanks, Jen. I didn't think it was disrespectful to fat people, and I'm very sensitive to those kind of things. And, yes, they do look amazing! I wish we could all find the time to work out 3 hours a day!

That was probably the best show they've shown all season. I really liked how it showed that everyone struggles at one point or another and that it is a lot harder when you don't have someone hounding you all the time to eat right and get in your exercise.
I agree that there was something about Ryan that just didn't set too well with me but kudos to them all for all the weight they lost.
I did think of one other factor they could've used to determine the winner. You know how most of us have a goal weight we would like to achieve? For instance, mine is 150. Well I started out at 295 so the total I need to lose is 145. If I take how much I've lsot so far and divide it by how much I'd like to lose you get the percentage of lost to goal (35/145=24%) That way it would've made it more fair to those with not as much to lose as Ryan or even Mo. Just my 2 cents.
I am ready to see how the others did next week.

A couple of dissapointments in the finale is 1) I would like to have known how much weight each lost on their own without having to go back to the website, look it up and do the math and 2) caroline had said their body fat %s were kept a secret until last night, yet they never revealed the "secret." I wanted to know what they all started at and what they had last night.

I hope they do improve it for the next episode.

I went so far as to look at the application for the show but I know at this point on our lives, we could not afford for me to be away from my family for that time unless they paid our bills and such while I was away.

You do get paid a certain amount while you are on the show, I don't know how much. I suppose it is probably a decent sum. I think it would be harder to be away from my little boy and husband for several weeks, depending of course how long you lasted on the show. I've been thinking about it a bit too sending in an application and video. It would be fantastic but I don't think my husband would be happy about me being away.

I agree that all the finalists did a great job. They all looked really good. Although I preferred Gary to Ryan, it didn't really matter who won. (the only one I was really rooting for was Maurice.) However, I think things were stacked against Kelly. Women naturally have more body fat than men and they also lose weight at a slower rate than men. There was no mention that they took this into account in the calculations. I look forward to next week to see how the rest did.

Kelly is from my area and our Medical Director at work is a personal friend of hers and he said the TV doesn't do her justice.. he says she looks totally GREAT! Also, another guy from the show works at the local red robin hamburger joint (Shane maybe or sean-- I can't remember his name) anyway, I bet he wins next week.. he looks awesome!

The guy Kelly went out on the date with was HOTTTTT. So is Aaron, can't wait til next week.

I was disappointed Gary didn't win. But I like how they all were rooting for each other.

They were supposed to have Open Call auditions here in Milwaukee last year, but they never came. If they come, I will go.

Wow - they all just look fantastic.. I hope it shows before/after pictures of them all next week and maybe go into detail to how each of them have done!

I was a little disappointed Kelly didn't win - I love her! I think its cuz I can really relate to her and a lot of the times when she says something.. i'm like "that's me" "that's me"!
She looks incredible!

SAPF - You'd better go if they have them.. I would love to watch you on the Biggest Loser! LOL! Not to mention, I would then know someone on TV! jk Seriously though, good luck with that honey!
