Scale gave me a big present today. I knew it had to be coming as I know I'm creating a big deficit, but for whatever reason I was holding onto water. Not any more! 1.9 drop on the scale this morning!

Someone did notice yesterday. How? Probably illusion, but I think my face is slimming down. It usually shows first. I'll be interested when Dh notices. I haven't even told him I'm back on plan! (though if he paid attention, he'd notice).

Went to Body Pump this morning. Kicked my butt big time. I was shaky by the time we got to the abs at the end. Not sure why it was tough, but good workout. I went running last night and that was good. At the gym, on the treadmill, but I might be able to be outside on Friday. It is supposed to be a little cooler. We'll see!

So, good news. I've been getting on the scale every day this week and I'm back down to what I was before the big gain last week. I think it wasn't real weight gain, just from being off track, not eating what I normally eat, and not running like usual. Oh and TOM is here. I have been hitting it pretty hard this week with being on track food wise and working out, but I do think it was a variety of factors, not just putting on pounds. I feel better being back in the 2 teens. I'll wait until Monday to change anything on my ticker or on myfitnesspal.

Mandy!!! A boy! How fun for you. I have a son and a daughter. Never had any boys in the family until he was born, and he is just a joy. I'm sure you are happy to know now!

BerryBlonde: Glad that someone noticed! I'm sure that makes you feel good! Had to laugh, though. Sometimes husbands can be awfully clueless!!

Paulitens: Glad you had a loss. That helps!

Jenni: You're so right. It is so painfully hard to get back on track, that it makes you wonder why you ever let yourself do it! I think that's the key, to be mindful and not just ignore it until you are way off track.

FeraFilia 06-04-2015 12:38 PM

:D

I am thrilled. I am assuming I'd be thrilled either way, but I've been thinking of this baby as a boy from the beginning so it was nice to have it confirmed.

BTW, the top photo is of my husband opening a gift with "It's a boy!" balloons, because yesterday was his birthday. :)

MissLoud 06-04-2015 11:57 PM

:woohoo: A boy Mandy!! Yay!!

Diane you rock the workouts its no wonder you and an inspiration! And also cool you are back in the teens again. I share your worries with regards to maintenance, I'm sure everyone in here does being regainers and all, I guess all we can do is not ignore it when we go off plan and don't worry if the scale go up as long as we get right back on the wagon. I realise this thing is a lifelong problem for me but if I can catch it in weeks rather than months its going to be okay.

Yay for someone noticing berryblonde, not that you do it for anyone else but recognition where its due is awesome.

Right so I'm on day 10 of staying on track, I had a high calorie day on sunday but still kept it under 1800 calories ... and I logged it so look at me go lol. I've had some really good numbers on the scale the last couple of days, like 228 so even if it goes up with TOM I know if I stick to it it will fall off the next week. Definitely was eating just that little bit too much, so logging my food intake is key I think. Was excited to see alot of NZ products in myfitnesspal my favorite yoghurt (the collective diary date and cacao) was in it! But eating that as a snack means I'm just having veges for tea lol it was worth it ;)

Paulitens 06-05-2015 11:33 AM

Wahooooo!! Boys are the awesome! Congratulations! (Congratulations either way, but you know what I mean).

Yesterday my husband, three kids and I went to Cold Stone to celebrate the end of the school year and although I otherwise ate really well all day, that totally did a number on me. But it's about the experience. We're going to start a new family tradition with this. I was 192.0 this morning. Booo! Here's to trying to have a great, healthy day... AGAIN!

jenjenangel027 06-05-2015 11:36 AM

Congrats Mandy....my first was a boy now he is 16 treasure every minute!!!!

Slashnl 06-05-2015 12:20 PM

Went to spin this morning. Good workout. I checked the scale again, and still under 220. I'd love to change my numbers on my signature, but I have rules about that... So, hopefully by Monday, I'll have good news. I have a little bit of running around to do this afternoon, but then I'll go running later. I thought I was going to be able to run outside, but it is raining a lot right now, so I think I'll just go to the gym.

Paulitens: Love Cold Stone! That sounds like a fun tradition to have, so I think you can justify those calories!

MissLoud: I'm constantly amazed at what is already listed on myfitnesspal. It seems like there are quite a few people on there from NZ. It's always good to now have to put it in yourself!

Mandy: I'm sure you would have been excited either way, but it is fun to know. Now you can picture this little guy and coming up with names is a little easier!

Paulitens 06-07-2015 02:09 PM

I was 194 yesterday morning. I need to stop celebrating the beginning of Summer!

Good thing is, I was 191.6 this morning and I'm back on track.

MissLoud 06-07-2015 04:32 PM

Lol Paulitens maybe I've been celebrating the joys of winter too much!! Red wine and roasts mmmm. Actually my 12 days of on track seem to be paying off finally :) looking forward to my weigh in this week (okay I've been naughty and jumped on the scales a couple of times) seen some good numbers. Little annoyed as we had a surprise invite to my MIL tonight, if I had of known in advance I would have done my fasting day yesterday, now it kind of mucks up my week! (So selfish) so going to stick to my guns, no wine, no dessert. My BIL little girlfriend does body sculpting so is on a full on diet, so me missing dessert shouldn't be too weird. I don't think my MIL has noticed my weight loss.

Roll on 220s baby ;)

Paulitens 06-07-2015 07:49 PM

I don't blame you, MissLoud! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WINTER (Fall more than Winter but I just love the colder seasons). I'm originally from Patagonia, the southernmost part of Argentina and winters there are harsh--in some ways the landscape and weather may resemble that of parts of NZ). We don't get much snow where I used to live but moving from that kind of weather to the subtropical, sticky, and humid Texas was definitely a change. And before I lived in Texas I lived in two other states where the weather was cold and awesome and snowy in winter. :) So I miss it. A LOT. And I lock myself up in my air conditioned house and pretend it's cold outside.

I'm trying to learn to enjoy summer mostly for my kids, but I know a lot of it has always had to do with my weight, with covering up, with feeling self-conscious, etc. It was like that most of my life. Plus I was always broke to do anything fun in the summer like going to the beach or the outdoor pool. A lot of things kind of predisposed me to hate the hotter months. And sometimes I wonder if I were thinner, would I like summer better? When I was down to 132 I think I was less afraid or less intimidated by it. I still hated the heat but feeling comfortable wearing a fewer layers definitely made a difference. I'm hoping for that if we're sticking around Texas for the long haul.

Harjap 06-07-2015 07:53 PM

hi diane - with your workouts you are truly an inspiration...

LaurieDawn 06-08-2015 10:36 AM

I'm just going to do a quick check-in. I have not yet found my way. But I have not yet given up the search. That's good enough for today.

Scale - 232.4. Ugh. A full 40 pounds up from February.

I am going to try a full 7 days on plan, culminating with a reward at the end. I need to put some thought into the reward - a small one, of course, but something meaningful.

And I am going to try to give up refined sugar for those seven days - which will be defined as: candy, cookies, cake, cupcakes, donuts, pie, pancakes, bread, soda, ice cream. I am not going to worry about the sugar in sauces I use, so A-1 is still a viable option. I will allow myself cereal, if I want it, but no Froot Loops, etc. More in the area of shredded wheat.

Day 1. No sugar. I left my Fitbit at home, so I am going to say 4 miles of intentional exercise.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hi all. Well, had a pretty good week last week, and whatever that huge jump in weight was last Monday is virtually gone. 220 likes me a lot, and I didn't have an official weigh in back to the 2 teens, so I'll have to keep on it this week. I was there on Saturday, but I think just a little too much relaxation and indulgences over the weekend bumped it back up in to 220. That's the price you pay!

I was proud of the whole week, so I need to be much more mindful on the weekend. I am tired of being somewhat stalled here. It's on me, for sure! Just need to keep on it and not lose so much time and effort. I really would like to get to onederland this year, and it is going to take extreme effort. So, went to spin this morning, and I'll go run tonight. Then.... need to watch the food plan, my biggest hurdle.

Laurie: Keep with it! Keep posting!!!! You'll get there.

Harjap: Thanks, my workouts are going well. Now just need to match that with discipline on the food plan! How are things going for you?

Paulitens: Boy we are polar opposites on the cold/hot weather issue! For 8 years I lived at 10,000 feet elevation here in Colorado, and it was snowy and cold for what seemed like forever, and then you'd have about two months of decent weather... we called it summer, but it never got above 80 or so. So, I love having warm weather. Even if it is hot, I'm ok!!!

MissLoud: Good job on the 12 days!
