Well I haven't posted in a bit. My daughter is home now from being at my parents for the summer. I'm down to 249.2 and quite pleased. I'm getting a little nervous that I won't be able to keep this up for the long haul. Although when I look at my weight loss chart I'm losing a little more than 2.2 lbs a week which is right on track

I went through my pant the other day and sorted the too small stuff into sizes. Ihave 8 16s and 7 14s and 3 12s. Guess I won't have to shop for pants for awhile. Although I think it will be a different story for tops but I haven't sorted those.

Hi Ainslie! I haven't been on in...years...but am trying to get back on track, again. I've been up and down on the scale, but now really need to keep it going in the down direction! Congratulations on your weight loss! How exciting to be going through your clothes! I'm really happy for you!

Goodness me, I haven't written anything in a while. It has been busy with my daughter coming home and getting her ready for school. I was a little upset when she came home because my mom had overfed her and she gained 9 lbs. She was already overweight for her height and it pushed her into obese. She doesn't look it but she was 100 lbs and only 9 and a half. So at my dovtors appt monday I spoke to her about it. She confirmed that it was ok for me to reduce her calories by about 200-250 a day. This would have her lose about a half pound a week. I have also boosted her activity level and reduced screen time to about 30 min a day. If she wants more screen time then she has to do activities to earn it. So far so good. We have started about a week and a half ago with the extra activity. Since she came home on the 19th of aug she has lost 3 lbs. I hope to get her to 80 lbs by the end of may and if she grows a couple of inches it will put her at the right weight for her height. Currently she is 4' 6".

Anyway enouh about her. It toom me forever to break out of the 250s. I bounced for 2 weeks between 252 and 249. Finally I broke through and recommitting to track everything I put in my mouth. Now I only need to lose 2.2lbs to get to my next mini goal of being 1/4 of the way done. I'm so excited. I feel better, I have more energy and my doctor took me off the bp medicine that she put me on about 9 mths ago. I had told her that I stopped taking them about a month ago cause they were making me really dizzy. When she checked my bp it was 122 /84. We both were pleased. I also told her if I lose enough weight so not to qualify for the lapband not to tell me. I really don't want the surgery and being on the wait list has motivated me to lose the weight. Hopefully I will be at goal before my name would come up. The wait is about 3 yrs and I has been on the list for about 6 mths. I don't know what I'd do if my name came up early though. I really don't like the thought of having my insides rearranged. Anyway ttfn.

Good for you, Ainslie! Over 30 pounds in less than three and a half months...I think that's GREAT! Very inspiring for me....I'm at just about the same point you are, only I'm just beginning.

Sounds like you have a mom like mine...they like to feed those grandkids. Here's hoping and praying that your daughter does well and doesn't have to deal with this for her whole life.

Blessings and keep up the great work!

So I ate chinese yesterday and gained 2 lbs from the salt. My daughter got me at a weak moment. So I danced my butt of last night and will do so again after this post. Drank lots of water and toom extra potassium yesterday and today. Hopefully I will be back to normal soon. I also just start TOM today so that probably put me up too. I'm going to watch my weight but not going to track until monday or until back to 244.2 which ever comes first.

I made homemade pizza for lunch. Yummy. I'm goi g to post the recipe here and in the recipe section.
1 greek pita (220 cal)
25 g turkey pepperoni (40 cal) (130mg sodium)
1/8 c pasta sauce (20 cal)
2/3 c shredded low fat mozzarella (this is double cheese)

Put in toaster oven til cheese is bubbly. Was only 440 cal but with reg cheese amount 360. Just depends what you like.

Ok. So I am 1/4 of the way done. When I put it that way it doesn't seem so long to go. Next mini goal is now 14lbs away which does seem like a long ways away. So I made a list of things to look forward to between now and then. First is to get out of the 240s, then to lose 40 and 45 pounds and I'll get to change my avatar. Then it will be to get out of the 230s and then I will only be about 2 lbs away from my next goal of 50 lbs lost.

Wow, to write it out it seems like a huge goal. I guess it is. Its like losing a small child. Time to go lift some weights. I alway get so hungry after. Anyone else? I don't get like that after cardio. Funny. TTFN

Okay. So along with hotdogs and baloney I can't bring homemade bread I to my house. I ate the whole thing except for 4 slices. Its a horrible trigger food. But it was sooooo good. I bought it from a local bakery. Logged the calories though. Ii don't have too many left for the rest of the day. Looks like I'm going to have to dance my butt off this afternoon to make up for it.

Normally my cardio days are mon, wed, and fri as I have just completed my first week of learn to run. Yes I started this earlier but I was too heavy and it hurt me knees to the point where I almost couldn't walk. So decided to try again when I got to 240. I do strength traing on tues, thurs and sat. And sunday is a rest day but I still do my dancing in the am with my daughter. It's the equivalent to 30 min of running and I do it every day.

I don't eat back the calories from dancing or my scheduled excerise. I do eat back the calories from extra exercise. It's like a little bonus. I also don't want to stall my weight loss by not eating enough. So goes the battle.

Thought I'd also put my whole list of mini goals and corresponding weight so I won't have to calulate each time. I have some in my siggy but there is more. I don't want to overwhelm myself (and others) by listing them all there. I will keep 2-3 ones I'm aiming for in there and add more as a reach each one. Ok so after the 20% loss (of start weight), we have :

1/2 way done (207.6)
75 lbs gone (202.6)
Lost 30% (194.5)
No longer obese (191)
100 lbs gone (177.6)
3/4 way done (172)
Lost 40% (166.8)
No longer overweight (159)
125 lbs gone (152.6)
Lost 50% (138.8)

I know I've got a couple of large gaps. The mini goal ae not spread evenly so I also look forward to changing my avatar every 5 lbs. In fact I'm in one of those gaps now. But 2lbs before I can change my chick.

Driven, that was the total cost for elite subscription to the RunKeeper and ShapeUp apps. Love runkeeper - tracks time pace and distance for walks/runs/biking etc. Will give you training plans for different running goals and uploads cal burned to shape up. I like shape up too. Tracks weight and imches lost on a graph. The elite lets you plan meals in advance and adjust nurtion like carbs, protien salt and fibre. Only thing I don't like is the barcode scanner only has about 50% of the stuff I buy. But hey I can add it. I find both apps great. Between the apps and this site I have done better than any other plan I tried - ww, herbal magic, low carb, simply for life, whatever. Costs less, no meetings, friendly competition, and some one who has already been what I'm going through and has gotten past it. Love this site.

Well my nice long list of goals was all ffor nought. I calculated my lean body mass today and it is 138.55. You know the weight we be at if we had no fat at all. So I guess my goal weight of 135 will be physically unattainable unless I also drop about 30 lbs of muscle. Something I don't really want to do. So I have to set a new goal and once I get closer I'll check to make sure I'm on track. My goal of 21% body fat is more important to me than the number on the scale.

So here is are the formulas
Lean body mass = current weight - (current weight x bf %)
Weight at goal bf% = LBM/(1- goal bf%)

But I am going for

Sorry couldn't scroll back down. Based on that my ideal weight is 175 lbs. Guess I will update my profile and ticker. That will still be a lose of 102 lbs. I was going to say once I hit onderland I will re-evalute but since I take my bf % every month I guess it will be on a monthly basis. But since I use a handheld analyzer I think I will see if I can get it done using the water displacement test once my machine says I'm at goal. Then I will know for sure.

Guess I will have to take some time and update my mini goals.

Ok. So I have alot of math to do. I'm going to write it all out first and then post it and re-evaluate. Reason being is that when I started I was 277.6 with a body fat percentage of 46.6 putting my LBM at about 148 so for ever lb of fat I lose .25 lb of muscle. Will have to sit down with a pen and figure it all out.

Ok. So after much wailing and knashi g of teeth I think I figured out my goal weight. For every 4 lbs I lose 3 are fat and one is muscle. If I lose 100 lbs at the same ratio, it will put me at about 140 with about 21% bf. This is my new goal. Will be updating ticker yet again.
