Just wanted to come on and update everyone along with doing some personals. I've lost another 1.1 pounds today now I can officially celebrate leaving the 270's behind . I've been very busy with my college classes (math is so rough on me ) luckily I only have two more weeks of class then it's spring break for me . My husband and I are seeing about getting away without the kids for a weekend after my classes finish, but that only depends if we can find something affordable as well as nearby (or at least in state). Right now I'm trying to finish up my classes for the week so that I can have the weekend free (almost done btw ). Which means it's an all day job and I haven't exercised today.

Auty - Seems like you have a lot on your plate right now. Also sounds like you have a big heart to go out and put up posters your town for that young woman. I'm sure every little bit helps it's so sad to hear about stuff like that happening. You must be very proud of your husband a Master's is nothing to sneeze at my own husband got his as well a few years back. Him doing so is what made me want to go back to college. I do know how you feel though when things get hectic and jumbled up so much so that you don't know how everything is going to work out. The good thing is that most of the time it does, then other times you can only hang on and hope for the best .

Hi everyone -- I have good news -- I got back on track today and didn't binge. I had some sugar shakes from withdrawal, but feel I'm positively getting back on track.

Looking forward to hearing how the central park marathon went.....

Hi! I'm Sarah and am hoping I can use this thread to keep me accountable with my exercise goals. I recently "got back on the horse." Literally! After 12 years of NOT riding, I started lessons just this last Friday. I. am. so. sore. When I for got on, NOTHING felt right. I recalled loving riding and feel so at home in the saddle. But after about 20 mins, I got my form somewhat back and by the end of the lesson I had properly posted for maybe 15secs. I'll be taking lessons once a week for a month, and once I gain my confidence again, I'll head out to the stables more often to ride independently. Riding has been the only exercise that I'll happily and excitedly do, so I'm really glad its back in my life.

In addition to riding, my husband recently got me an elliptical machine. Now, I've just got to come up with a way to incorporate using it into my life that becomes "non-negotiable!"

MJ - Those photos are SOOO inspirational. Thanks for posting them. What I really love is that your personality just seems to shine through on the fitter photo. And that is my biggest goal. Just for me to look MORE like me - with less of me actually being there.

Auty - I use to live in Alaska! And my husband was born and raised there. We were married in Palmer and lived in Anchorage. My sister came up for a visit and never left! That girl who went missing, that coffee stand was RIGHT by my sister apartment. So upsetting. As a recent graduate (and we moved on top of THAT stress) I really get the over eating. I gained 30lbs from the weight I had lost after having my baby. I decided school was my top priority and to deal with the stress, I stuffed myself. I too am trying to learn to deal with stress in a healthier way. But it sounds like you are moving in the right direction but choosing some healthier choices.

Hi everyone! I'm baaaaaaaaack! We had a FANTASTIC time during our 10K! There were 11,000 people who participated. The atmosphere was incredible. This was my first race, but not my last! We walked most of it, but jogged some. We had a 14:43 pace, which considering we walked most of it was good. Then we walked around the City for a while and headed back to my friends house. I was SO caught up in the race, I didn't get pics, but the race website will have some up soon that I will share. We are already making plans to do it again next year and improve our time!

Auty--Phew! First, no need to apologize. We all need to get that kind of stuff out. You have a LOT going on. Do your best, one day at a time. This isn't a sprint, it's lifestyle changes. Challenges are going to present themselves along the way and it's how we learn from them that metters. You've got this! Thank you!!!

Jinxy--CONGRATS on another loss!!!

Elizabeth779--That is EXCELLENT news!

SarahFairhope--Welcome!!! I think it is great that you are riding again! Thank you

Yesterday I tried some running. I did a quick 2 miles, running for a min and walking for a min. I was on a trail near my house and it felt great!

Today is a full body workout at the gym, a quick trip to the outlet mall (I need smaller shirts!), then study time!!!

Have a great day everyone!!!!

TGIMonday! Glad the huge temptations are gone. I've given away most of the food. Soon the extra pie will be trashed. (DH said he'd take it to the neighbor.. he didn't, so in the trash it goes with a good squirt of liquid dish soap.) It's better in the trash than me.

I have my journal and will plan out a healthy food day.

I hope everyone is doing well today.

If you ate extra over the weekend... well, that's over and done. You must forgive yourself and hop right back on your plan.

Have a GREAT day.

MJ- What a great experience! I hear 10ks are like tattoos. Once you do one, youre hooked.

BeverlyJoy - Nice, cleaning the house of the temptations! I think I'll follow suit.

My friends from back in Utah (I recently just moved to New England) want to meet me in Las Vegas. Looks like they will probably want to do something in August. I also have a wedding to go to in August. I'm dedicating myself to 1hr of cardio every morning until I leave for Vegas. I don't think I'm going to care how fast I go, I just want to take this time to develop the habit of doing it everyday.

Beverlyjoy--Good for you getting the food out of the house!

SarahFairhope--Sounds like an awesome plan! You can totally do that!!! Yes, I have heard that as well....I am doing a 5K w/ my cousin next month. She can't run do to an ankle injury, so we will be walking this one as well. Someday, I would like to be able to run one

Tomorrow night I have Zumba and Body Fit. Can't wait to see my friends and tell them about the 10k!

Hope everyone had a good holiday!

My eating has been pretty good even though I'm down home. I brought a bunch of my own food to cook since gluten free/vegan is too hard for my mom right now.

Anyhow, doing well. hope everyone else is too.

Bah, my little guys was up all night. Which made getting up before 6am to work out just not something I was willing to do. But I haven't given up on getting that cardio in!! When my husband gets home, I'm hopping on that elliptical!

Hi everyone -- MJ5 -- glad to hear you had a great time in NYC at the martathon. I tried zumba once at 297 and loved it....will try it again after i lose some more.

Beverylyjoy -- your house had "pie"???? PERK!!

I had a tough day of challenges at work, I made a mistake and it caused some problems and i stayed over for 1 hour until 3:00 a.m. to get everything fixed....and on the way home on the freeway i was stressed thinking about what might happen about the mistakes, etc ....and was so wanting to get off the freeway, and eat my weight in pancakes.....but instead i came home and had some milk with a tiny bit of splenda, warmed it up, and then a tiny bit of vanilla in it.....oh it was nice -- tasted like warm ice cream....so that was my nonscale victory for the day,.....

hope you all have a great day!!!

Hi everyone! I wanted to go to the gym after my hair appt tonight, but my knee had other plans. It was really sore, so I came home and am resting and put ice on it. If it feels better, I will go to the gym and do my workout.

lottie--Hi! Glad to hear you are doing well! I have found that it is a lot easier to bring my own food when I travel, well....not so much easier as it is better for me, haha. great job!

SarahFairhope--Yikes, hope your little guy slept for you!

Elizabeth779--thanks! It was a 10k...sooo not ready (and probably never will be) for a marathon. sorry to hear about your tough day at work. It happens. Great job on your snack!!!

We are actually celebrating Easter this weekend w/ my family. I can't wait to see my niece! She is 6 and we have SO much fun together! I will take my own food. My family still doesn't "get" the whole vegetarian thing, but that's ok, they don't have to. It's my choice. Besides, by taking my own food...I know exactly what I am eating

Hello all,

I hope everyone is doing well. I am enjoying my coffee this glorious, relaxing, work-free morning and later on today we are going to my favourite place in the world, our summer house.
This weekend is our Easter and that means tons of food. It is tradition to eat lamb and 'kokoretsi' and 'mageiritsa' - not for the sqeamish!(and definitely not for vegetarians, sorry about that). However, this is good food meaning that we'll have barbecued meat and salads with lovely spring vegetables. I am sure I will indulge but I am planning to take long walks and move as much as I can to compensate. It won't be hard to motivate myself as you can see from the attached photo. This is the fence of the house.

Thank you for your super kind words concerning my effort to quit smoking. One whole month smoke free!
Elizabeth - I hope the politics you mentioned are over now, what a delicious NSV!
Lotie - nice you are here - cedar point sounds awesome!
Mj - yeah for your walk, yeah for needing new smaller shirts, yeah for studying and learning new interesting things!
Auty - oh, so many things happening, I hope you are coping well, I am sending - The end or an era only means the beginning of a new one!
Jinxy - yeah for leaving 270 and brilliant for spring break!
Sarah - Horse riding sounds great and an elliptical at home, you have the tools for success
Beverlyjoy - You reminded me of the scene from Sex and the city - when Miranda put the chocolate cake in the bin and (after eating some) squirted washing liquid on it. Nice you resisted temptation!

And since yesterday I was at a funeral I thought of this magnificent poem by Dylan Thomas to share with you today, so here's the first verse

And death shall have no dominion.
Dead mean naked they shall be one
With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
They shall have stars at elbow and foot;
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

Take care everybody!

Hi! I am so excited about the birth of my granddaughter. We will drive there tomorrow to meet her. Then drive back for me to catch a flight to LA where I'll be with my sister for 8 days helping her... she had a surgery. Then, I"ll be back home and then go back to where my son/dil/gs/&gd live. Lots of running around. Whewww

I've packed my Beck book and have my other reading materials in regards to healthy and sane eating. I ordered a low calorie meal for the plane. (I didn't even think they fed folks anymore)

It's going to be a busy next two weeks.

I need to be careful and thinking about making wise choices. I will plan the best I can.

I will have to use other people's computers while I am gone. I hope I can check in.

Have a GREAT day.
