Dec 5 Mon
B= 2 c milk, vits, poptart
L= turkey sand w port wine cheese
D= soup, bread
S= Butterfinger, fruit
S=2 cinnamon bread, 2 c milk
E= 45min pilates/yoga/cardio fusion

Right= exercised, ate fruit when I wanted more sweets

Regret= had a slice of cinnamon bread fresh from the oven, handed it to Hubby, I thought he'd take A bite, he took a few BIG bites, so I felt to get 'my fair share', I HAD to have another slice. I definatly need to work on the fair share thing. buying the Butterfinger

doing the workout really bothering my back ribs on the right side, where I landed. I tried to do 'triangle' leaning to that side, but only got a few inches over before it hurt! I don't have a surface bruise but the area is really sore to the touch and I'm wondering if I didn't bruise or crack a rib. My glute is fine but my hipbone is sore when I leaned on it to stretch. I thought I was almost healed but I'll have to baby myself a while longer.

Hi friends.. I've been reading, just not posting. I am struggling...since Thanksgiving. I have my yearly physical tomorrow - that will be a reality check, I am sure.

Will plan, plan, and plan some more.

Take care.

mj: I tried to write the seitan stuff last night but the comp ate my post.

anyhow, it's very easy to make, google 'seitan o' greatness' that is the best recipe I've found. just bake and freeze or keep in fridge. or half and half. When you go to cook it for a meal afterwards just slice and sautee in a pan with a tiny bit of oil and seasonings. It's very good!

How much you knead it makes a big difference in the texture. if you knead it a little it has a dense meaty texture, if you knead it a lot it ends up more light and fluffy like bread dough. I don't like it quite as much, I think there is a happy medium somewhere I had yet to find. Though I prefer it meaty.

I season it depending on what I'm going to use it for. I generally use the seitan o' greatness recipe as an all purpose, then when I go to use it, I slice and sautte and if I'm using it in a beefy capacity I'll add some steak sauce to it and some onions, if I"m using it in an italian/chicken type recipe I'll add some oil and garlic salt and basil. Depends on what you're using it for.

or, chop it up in a food processor, then sautee, then season with taco seasonings or bbq sauce for a fake taco or 'pulled bbq pork' type of meal.

Well, my ibs has been kickin' for about two weeks now. I'm taking citrucel and miralax both three times a day and it seems something is finally happening. augh.

I'm not eating much today either, because now that it's been so long every time I eat I feel physically ill and bloated, the food has nowhere left to go. Maybe some popcorn later, but I'm not gonna go overboard because I really need to stop feeling like I'll explode if I take a bite.

Anyhow, my bday was okay, not horrible, but the celebration with my friends is this coming saturday. yay.

Hi! I'm awake from my nap (first of many, I'm sure)...surgery went well. I'm tired and a little sore, but ok otherwise. Hubby is being amazing. He is in the kitchen now making us a fabulous dinner (black bean burgers and roasted broccoli). He has the next three days off to take care of me.

patchworkpenguin--Ouch! Take care of yourself and "baby" it if that what it needs.

Beverlyjoy--hugs!!! Good luck at your physical. We are here for you!

lottie--Oh no, sorry to hear you are feeling so icky. Hope you feel better soon. Yea for your party soon!!! Thank you thank you thank you for the seitan tips (sorry your post was 'eaten'...that happened to me the other day).

Tuesday, Dec 6
B= 2 c milk, vits, poptart
L= Rafferty's cup Potato soup, 1/2 BBQ burger
D=homemade Maple Roasted chicken with onion, carrots, potatos, brussel sprouts {Semihomemade with Sandra Lee}
S= ice cream, choc chips + syrup
E= none

Right= ate half burger, more veggies than chicken

Regret= ice cream sundae for snack...could have made a better choice, but that was the last of the ice cream we bought a few weeks ago. Normally ice cream doesn't last that long around the house. Could have exercised.

One of my Bible study friends came to get me, we met some others at the church to set up for our Leader's Christmas luncheon tomorrow. I'm sure the tables/chairs will be set up and there will just be tablecloths, plates, centerpieces and the like. My friend offered to take me to lunch after we set up today. She's discovered my secret "feed me and I'm will help!". She did get some heavy labor out of me, we had to rearrange the tables and chairs but it wasn't bad.

I took some headache asprin and it seems to help my back/butt. yay

Mj, I'm glad you are feeling up to posting and that the surgery went well. Nice of Hubby to take care of you!

Lottie, Hope you feel better soon. Have a great time on Sat!

Beverly, keep trying. You seem to have a lot more good days than bad.

Hi everyone!

Patchworkpenguin--Have fun w/ your friend today. Thanks, my hubby is the BEST! I am very, very lucky

I am pretty sore and tired, but obviously that is to be expected. I will rest and nap, repeat today. I am sooooo bloated from all of the gas and fluids they pumped into me yesterday. Ugh...I'll be happier when that goes away.....Today I am thankful for pain meds and will drink lots of water/tea.

Hubby has a few quick errands to run, which he feels incredibly guilty about...I have told him that I will be absolutely fine for the hour he will be gone, hahaha. As long as he takes the dogs out right before he leaves (which he will), we will probably be in the exact same spot when he gets back home. As soon as he leaves, I will text him to let him know I tucked some extra $ in his wallet so he can treat himself to his favorite chicken bbq place (which is on his way during his errands). Today they cook ribs outside, which are his absolute favorite and something I never learned to cook, so he gets them there whenever he can. He will be SO surprised.

I have lots of books and magazines to read and obviously my laptop, so plenty of things to keep me occupied for the next few days. Saturday I am getting a massage....I almost rescheduled it, but I'll be up to it (and ready) by then.

Have a great day everyone!

Wed Dec 7
B= 2 c milk, vits, poptart
L= luncheon, chicken casserole, salad, green beans, 3 brownies
S= clementine
D= sloppy joes, fries
S= 2 poptarts, 2 c milk
D= cereal
E= none

Right- I had a good morning, ate well at the luncheon, came home happy

Regret- but I had a really bad night. I was in a horrible mood, overate at dinner, then had 2 snacks for the night. Even as I was pouring the cereal I was arguing with myself that I wasn't hungry and didn't need to eat this!!! Why don't I listen to myself????

MJ, glad to hear that you are occupied and getting your rest, and that Hubby is taking good care of you.

Thurs Dec 8
B= 2 c milk, vits
L= Olive Garden Salad, 1 breadstick, chicken & gnoochi soup
D= Olive Garden Chicken Florentine paninni {leftover from lunch}
S=3-4 pinwheel cookies
E= none

Right= didn't eat until I was hungry, didn't overeat at lunch

Regret= only planned 2 pinwheels but ate 4. I"m not going to beat myself up about it.

I've been so tired all day. I ended up taking a hour long nap this afternoon, I just couldn't stay awake any longer; I think my body thinks today is Friday.

Our Bible study is taking our Christmas break, we won't resume until Jan 5. I'm going to try to use the next four weeks to really concentrate on my eating and exercise.

Hi everyone! Slowly but surely getting my strength back (yea!). I am going on a little outing today...can't wait! I haven't been out of the house since Tuesday! Just two quick errands, then back home. One errand is to renew my gym membership (yea!).

Last night I watched Food, Inc. Wow. Very eye opening. Makes me glad that I switched to buying mostly organic a long time ago and most recently decided to seriously transition to vegetarian. So far, so good! I am going to buy (or order if I can't find them) the ingredients to make my own seitan (thanks again lottie!).

Hope you all have a great day.

B= 2 c milk, vits, poptart

S=Cereal
E= 40min LB + 10min yoga

Right= exercised, waited for hunger, shared cereal with April

Regret= skipped lunch, wanted to do some more cardio but didn't.
