Laura - you didn't mention anything about exercising ... are you one of those people that hates to move?!!! I used to be! If you add exercise - or step up what you're doing - maybe it would help those numbers start to move down! As we get older, just cutting down on the calories stops working!

MzPen,
You are right! I am not exercising. Well, I do some for a week or so then quit. I need to stay consistent on that. I used to tell myself wait until you get closer to goal to exercise, but I know that is just an excuse. You do weight lifting right? Maybe I should look into joining one of those ladies gyms nearby. You can sign up for a month or week at a time (no contracts). I know people who have lifetime memberships to Bally's and never even go! So I dont want to be stuck with a contract but a month to month thing might be good. Do you go somewhere or work out at home?

I'm hoping to be around 217, which would be about a 5 pound loss. I am feeling pretty confident that I can do this

Talking already made my new years goal!

I know that nobody will believe this but I have actually lost 7 pounds in 3 days! 3 DAYS!! On Sunday I weighed 250 when I posted this goal. On Monday I was 248, Tuesday, 245.5, and today 243 which was my goal by the end of the month. I keep thinking I will get back on the scale tommorow and it will be back up again. I have been only eating 1400 calories and watching my salt so I know of course most of this has to be fluid lost, but it is exciting to see the scale moving again after a LONG TIME of staying the same!! Part of my recent inspiration to lose has been the new guy in my life. I swear the being in a new relationship after so long has really inspired me to get my rear in gear! I will let you know if reality sets in and the scale moves back up. If it doesnt then maybe I will post a new goal a few pounds less. I am psyched!!

OK, I'm setting a goal that is very little loss, because I really want to make it, and with the Christmas season and all, and all of those cookies and Christmas parties...... So, my goal is 203. That is 3 pounds less than this morning and about one pound a week. I figure that that is pretty doable.

Good luck everyone, and congrats laura! Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the encouragement!!
I really appreciate it. I got on the scale this morning thinking I really dont want to see this since this has to be a fluke or something, but I actually was suprised. I was down another .5!
I promise I am not starving myself. I am however only eating 1400 a day since Sunday. I think my bod is in shock or something! I wonder if I am doing a dis-service though to myself. Maybe some days I should shake things up and eat 1600 or so. I dont want my metabolism to slow on down!

thanks again!!

My goal is to see 5 pounds gone before January 1st. I know I can do it if I keep my water intake up and don't get sidetracked from gym time. I think I'll go drink another 16 oz. just to get myself motivated this morning!

Cheers,
Christy

Angry making a new goal!

Hi everyone!
It appears that the big weight loss was not a fluke as it has been staying steady at 242.5!! Yeah!!
So, I would like to make a new goal=239.
If I make it to 239 that means I will have lost the same amount of weight in 2002 as I did in 2001. I lost 37 pounds last year and if I get to 239 it will be another 37 this year for a grand total of 74!!
Of course getting to 75 sounds so much better though, but I wont push my luck!

I want to lose 8 pounds by New Years Eve. Is it possible? ANYTHING's possible. That would bring me to 259.5. I'm tired of seeing that 6 after the 2. I need to get my butt in motion!

Arrow Another Update!

Well, it's been about 5 days and I said I wanted to get to 239 to make this years weight loss equal to last years and I did it!! (37 last year and this year too) It is almost scary how fast it is coming off right now. I weiged 250 11 days ago and now I weigh 238.5... 11 1/2 pounds!! I know most is water but wow!! I am getting 1400 calories a day and not starving but maybe I need to bump up the calories so it's not coming off too fast. I figure in a week or so it will naturally slow down anyway! I wont make another goal for new years and will be happy to lose whatever I lose this time of year!

My goal has been to be in the 280's by Jan 1 but I'm not sure I'm going to make it. That's okay though... I started this year at about 315 pounds so I'm very proud to have taken so much off my total. I wish I were a faster loser but I'm not and that's okay... as long as I keep going, I will get there.
