I think you're very wise.

Our bodies seek equilibrium and homeostasis. Your body thought it was doing you a great favor storing all of those calories for you. Now that almost half of your body has slipped away in 18 months, I imagine your body needs to catch it's breath, settle into a new normal for a bit, and just catch up with itself for a few minutes. Your body is in a brave new world right now!

180 lbs in 18 months is amazing! I also think your body is just trying to adjust. Enjoy the summer, pamper yourself and celebrate how far you have come!

You are an inspiration!! You are doing such a fabulous job and maybe this maintenance time will be what you need. Wow! 180 pounds in less than 18 months, that is just amazing.

You know what? I think that totally makes sense!!! I think it's a great idea...your body needs time to adjust to it's new self.
I'll bet after a maintenance break, the rest will pour off just like the first 180 did!

Really, really proud of you for allowing yourself this pause!

cfmama, it's takes alot of guts and bravery to make that choice. Most of us would continue to beat our heads against the wall and whine about our lack of progress. You have accomplished an amazing feat! Even if you never lost another pound I would be in awe of your accomplishment! Take this time to practice maintenance. Eat well, exercise and rest. Let your body recalibrate itself. These are all good things! Remember to celebrate how great you feel in this new slimmer body!

Sounds like taking a losing break to maintain will do you good in many ways.

I do hope though, that you will continue to check in here from time to time. We care about you and want to know how you're doing.

Darling friend, you are amazing. I think your idea to maintain over the summer is a great idea. I just spent the last couple of months doing the very same thing. Now I'm back to losing again.

I think you have a very solid plan and I know you will do very well.

I'm so proud of you!

don't get me wrong... I am NOT going anywhere. I'll still check and comment a billion times a day. lol! I CANNOT ever leave this site... even when I enter REAL maintenance. Leaving here would be catastrophic for me in so many ways.

So you'll just have to put up with my "maintenance" updates instead of my whining plateau updates lol!!!

I agree - 180 pounds in 18 months is awesome, but your body probably needs a break. Think of it as a "healthy" break. Before you know it, your next weigh-in will pleasantly surprise you!!
