If you do child's pose with your knees out to the side, and your feet together, there's plenty of room for your belly and chest.

I love this one to. I started in my 260's. And it will make you sweat! I now do the P90X yoga. My hubby has been doing P90X for a couple of years now and at first he thought yoga was girley and hippie ish but this "aint your mama's yoga" as he likes to say. Yoga is hard. And it is a REAL workout. the one we do is 1.5 hours long and at first I could only do like 20 min. I can now do the whole video minus a few things that are just insane lol.

Don't under estimate yoga as a workout. It makes you feel amazing and helps you in other workouts. Try the Biggest Loser Yoga. It has begginer levels and you can kind of customize your workout. Hope that helps.

I humbly apologize, fawn. I see that my post (about cost and worth, etc) was waaay too brief and abrupt (i was on my way out the door). And I didn't realize you had small children (babysitting, whew! Really expensive!) or that you live in a smallish town (ie, no adult education classes.)

So yes---dvd's and home instruction will get you all the benefits of yoga!

Ha! I personally practice a little-known form of yoga called *bum-knee yoga*, and I have a friend who's just invented *carpal-tunnel wrist yoga*.

basically, what we do is what yoga we can interspersed with our assigned physical therapy exercises.

There is one rule and one rule only: If it hurts you have to stop. Period.

I love yoga, and have done it at all my weights from biggest to smallest. I highly recommend the AM/PM yoga series by Rodney Yee. The AM workout is a very gentle, mellow session that gets you ready for the day, and the PM is more of a wind down. Aside from what it does for the body, it's amazing for the mind (especially for those of us who have constantly spinning brains).

His poses aren't crazy hard, but they still get the job done. Plus, he's not too bad to look at AND! He's got a beautiful, relaxing voice.

YES!! You did!! I love them (when I can find the time that no kids are screaming to actually get something out of them ). Gael's voice is sooo soothing

They are actually what makes me feel like I need more.
