For those of us that live in Canada: I just found out that points listed for McD's may not be accurate. Seems that the US fare is higher points than here. Go to the mcdonalds.ca site to get nutritional info. the US food seems to have more fat and cals than the stuff they make here in Canada. Not that I eat at mcd's a whole lot but I"ve been getting the happy meals so I can get the Lilo and Stitch toys

OK, Jen, I'm coming up there! There is a big 'thing' down here right now about how the US proportions at restaurants are out of line. CONGRATULATIONS on the 18...I can't even imagine wearing an 18! Someday, though!!!

Jeanne, I sure hope your arm starts feeling better soon...we'll miss you, but understand your not wanting to to type one handed!

BA, your goals are excellent! You'll be back on track before you know it. Congrats for sticking with it. How is Oreo...happy, I'll bet!

Sakk, aawww, come on in! The water's fine! I love to swim. But, I don't do it very often. There are some lakes here, but I hate public beaches and pools. It was much nicer when we camped at a small lake and the beach was only 100 ft away!! In the fall, our new community center is opening and I will be swimming there.

Dana, that Sara is a DOLL!!! And I agree with Jennelle, that strawberry is HUGE!

2ofme, I'll take up that challenge for Sat night!!...MAYBE. I AM going out, and if I have enough calories saved, AND, enough $$, I just might order one!!

Hi to all! See ya later.

Love, Gayle

Jen: Great job on the size 18 swim suit. Maybe you should try the pants in 18. Seems that the swimsuit would be sized smaller just because there is so much less fabric involved (or at least priced smaller!) * Here in the US, we can buy just the toys for $1.98 or something - saves calories.

Still hot here in the Midwest. Was "supposed" to rain through all of last weekend. Nothing but heat. It "supposed" to rain tonight, tomorrow, and tomorrow night. Should I believe them? (Wish there was a hot or perspiring smilie.)

Have a buttload of chores to do when I get off work. Having mom's 78th b'day on Sunday. About 40 people are coming. Gotta make it look good for my mom. I'm considering it all exercise. Okay, so that's the easy way out. I'll do the biking thing next week.

Still gotta get that Dr. Phil info off the other thread. If I remember correctly it was all of Bella's hard work and I'm going to take full use of it. That Tuesday he was on, I had my whole day planned out so I could watch it, then I got a call to go to the funeral home. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Phil isn't more important, it's just that I appreciate the info that I missed. Lord only knows that I need all the help I can get.

slimdown: Loved the oreos comment. (I think that was ME you saw with the bag. )

Hi to everyone else. (I'm avoiding the swimsuit topic.

Hope this finds you all well.

Happy Wednesday!
Yesterday I had a really good day.. I stayed OP .. well almost.. I broke down and bought the family DQ.. I had no idea how much a med. chocolate cone was in calories/fat until I looked it up last night on the net.. YIKES If I had known I would have gotten a small
I also did ALOT of moving.. got my workout in.. took my daughter and my niece to the beach ..grilled chicken breasts for dinner and then we headed to the woods for a nice little hike. My body is sooooo sore today.. but otherwise I'm feeling great!

BA Great goals! I should really set up a list of everyday ones myself and stick to them no matter. Maybe it will help keep the motivation going.

Velvet - WOO HOO 3 more pounds!! You are shrinkin girl! Keep up the excellent work

Jen - Size 18!!!!! Wowee.. I would LOVE to be a size 18 ANYTHING!! Especially a swim suit...

Final words: HUMIDITY SUCKS!
Have a good one all

I did SO good yesterday, I am so proud of myself. I met or exceeded all of my goals. YAY! I even gave myself a "points window" and didn't even use it!

Here's my goals for today:
1. Stay within my points
2. Drink 96 oz of Water
3. Go for a 30 minute walk
4. Journal every bite
5. Take vitamin
6. Be at least 80% OP.

I know I can do it!

Velvet- Glad to see you back!

Zap- Great job on yesterday, and I don't know ANYONE who could resist DQ. Next time get the small.. or only eat half a blizzard... there are lots of things you could do to control yourself at DQ. I'm getting better and better, and can actually let myself go there now, amazingly! I'm sure that all your walking and stuff definately helped!

To everyone else - I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Hi, folks. Today is good so far. I got up and went to mom's apt downstairs for my dry toast and coffee. Then, came back up to my own place and took a shower and am now lying in front of the fan!! That's my plan for the day! I had a lean cuisine for lunch and mom is marinating chicken breasts to grill for supper. We'll have baked potatoes, too ff so cream, of course. Don't know what veggie and don't care...love 'em all!

BA, great job staying to your plan. I knew you'd be back on track. You are doing a great job. Keep it up!

Zap...I second that...humidity does indeed suck!!! But I still think it's better than snow! You did fine at DQ. Next time, now that you know the numbers, you can go there and stay OP! Every summer, at least once, DQ is on my plan. You're doing great, too.

Hi to everyone.

Love, Gayle

Summer's really here too! Hard to stay focussed in this humidity. Doing fairly well so far today (not great), doing well on the water but still seem somewhat swollen. Spent last two days with my almost 86 year old Mom which threw me off my "routine". Didn't do really bad - Mom's a diabetic and there's little in the temptation line there. But we did go out to breakfast after her doctor's appt yesterday. Well, it was her breakfast - I had had a slimfast bar out of her sight as she had to fast. So "breakfast" was closer to lunch time. Then I had some fruit before I left in mid afternoon. By the time I got home, I was too bushed to feel like eating so that saved me from the MISERY of going out to eat.

Just ate some smallish things as I felt like it. Feel like I'm starving dh. (There's that putting yourself first thing again.) Anyway, this afternoon I'm being strongly tempted so thought I'd come on-site and work the temptation out by reading about all your OP successes (and not). It really helps.

Enjoying some of the bathing suit stories and congrats on a size 18 anything. Have lots of those waiting in the closet for a little success here. Somehow I seem to have skipped totally over size 20 on the way up, don't have those waiting. Have bathing suits though as I do water wellness stuff. Used to go 2/3 times a week but dropped back to one a week the last two months as
I was trying to build up my walking (on land). With heat this way, I think I'll head back to pool exercising 3 times a week. No way can I walk in this humidity. Also plan to think about rewards, always figured losing would be reward enough but little goodies might help me persevere.

Thanks for helping me (so far) over the rough spot this afternoon. Some of the gooey cake in the freezer has been calling to me and now I hear your voices saying "no, don't".

Poo...Poo.... and WAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

I have no idea what I did, but my achilles tendon and the kinda soft-ish hollow spot on my ankle is all swollen, and I think strained, I didn't even do anything that I can remember to have hurt it, instead of a workout video yesterday, I went walking, watched some TV with hubby, and went to bed.... woke up... couldn't walk Anyways, for all that were worrying with me about the swelling, I think I've found the answer... I wasn't totally done with the rotovirus, it hit me again last night, for what I hope was it's last strike... I was AWFULLY sick, but it was fast and brutal, and that was the way both Johnny's and Ravyn's ended....

Well, Johnny is waiting for me to come watch a movie, gonna break out the ice pack take some advil, and cuddle with my hunny

Hey ladies! Today is probably my last post for about 10 days. We're leaving on Friday to go to CA to visit my family, so tomorrow I will be busy packing, etc. I will be going to WW weigh in on Friday morning before we leave, so I hope to be able to hop on the computer long enough to post my loss. (The power of positive thinking... ) After that, we're on the road for 2 1/2 days, then staying with my technologically-challenged (i.e., nothing more sophisticated than her 10-year old VCR!) mom.

I will have my list of coping skills with me, thanks to all of you wonderful people out there! As the trip gets closer, I am feeling more confident about how I will handle food issues, family perceptions of me, etc. Also, since we're making this trip on a limited budget, we're bringing a cooler of sandwich stuff and fruit to each for lunches on the road. That will save me from the Fast Food Monster! (I usually do okay, but I get REALLY sick of always having to order a plain hamburger and a side salad!)

You guys rock! I will miss you when I'm gone!

It's a wonderfully sunny morning here in the Mid-West, though the heat and humidity aren't my friends.

I recently decided to start over (again). I'm going to try my hand at WW at home, but only weighing in at the doctor's once a month, just close enough to know where I am and keep me motivated but far enough to avoid jumping on it every hour. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it. The very first plan I have is to commit to exercising on my bike. I used to love to walk, but have been having troubles with one foot and my knees aren't what they used to be. It's my hope that I can lose enough on the bike to start walking any distance by fall (my time of year). Of course, getting in all the water is always a challenge, though it's easier in the summer. And once I get this party past me for my mom, I'll start journalling again.

Am I the only one who feels like there is just sooo much to think about with losing weight? I start whining about why this has to be a problem for me. Then I snap myself out of it by being thankful that this is the ONLY health problem I have. (Although coming into this 40 year age bracket has found me surprised that things "ain't what they used to be" or WHERE they used to be!!

PNG: What the heck are you doing to yourself? Now you have things going wrong at night, too. Girl, you've got to be kinder and gentler to yourself. BTW, YOU are my inspiration, especially lately. I've sat here like a bump on a log finding excuses not to do what needs to be done. Then I read one of your posts about how sick you've been. The next minute, you're talking about doing this, that, and the other. I find myself asking, "So, if PNG can do it, why can't I? What kind of an excuse am I making? Not a very justifiable one". Thank you.

anagram: I'm proud of you substituting posting for eating. That tells me that YOU are in control and that you are dedicated.

jennelle: I prefer the packed lunches. After a while one can get pretty tired of fast food. Fresh always tastes better. That's a great money saver and strategy. Have a safe trip. Fill us in on the details.

gayle: Great job on that 3# loss. Must be that dry toast.

zap: DQ is hard to resist in the summer. Consider it a wonderful treat and don't beat yourself up about it.

BA99TJ: Your daily goals show your determination and it gives me something to think about. For example, I'll read your water goal and think, "Hey, I can do that".

This is a lot longer than I had planned. I should get to work now. Have a wonderful day.

annie

OK - So yesterday wasn't a perfect day. But I did discover that when I am mad or stressed, I eat. I could NOT find the hub I have for my computer at home ANYWHERE, and I was getting SO frustrated, because I wanted to get it set up so I can use my laptop, (I need a piece of equipment to "share" my internet connection so that my laptop and the home PC can both be online - no insult, just explaining if you don't understand what a hub is.) ANYWAY, What did I do? I made myself some quesedillas. I carefully measured out the cheese. BUT I forgot to write it down. SO, I ended up being 10 points over yesterday. BUT EVERY ONE OF THOSE 10 POINTS IS WRITTEN DOWN IN MY JOURNAL. Then, I wasn't allowed to go for a walk by my doctor. This heat and humidity is making my nose bleed. Unless I'm in A/C, it bleeds. SO, no walking for a few days per the doc. ARGH! I attempted to do my fat-burning Yoga video, but I'm still not QUITE flexible enough to pull that off. But I did earn some extra credit points...

So, since I did at least MOVE more than usual, (heavy lifting, moving furniture, unpacking and repacking Jocelyn's room about 10 times, attempting the video, extra credit) I'm going to give myself credit for my exercise goal.

I got 5 of the 6 accomplished. So Hooray for me. I drank about 108 oz of water, I exercised, I journaled every bite, I took my vitamin, and according to the 10 points of being OP, I was 85% OP yesterday.

Goals for today:
1. Stay Within Points.
2. Drink 124 oz of water (gee whiz I better get cracking!)
3. Move somehow. (Do crunches, or whatever).
4. Journal Every Bite.
5. Take Vitamin
6. Be at least 80% OP.

At least I won't be home alone this afternoon like I was yesterday, so that should keep me from any temptations.

Gayle - I hope you're managing to stay cool! It's killer here too.. thank goodness for the A/C at work and home, or I think I'd die!

Anagram - its amazing how you can distract yourself and conquer the food monster, isn't it? I hope you are having another good day!! I'm sure your dh isn't starving... Mine finds ways to eat when he needs to.. but for the most part, he likes eating what I'm eating!

PNG - Dear Lord girl, what are you doing to yourself??? STOP IT!! I hope you feel better right quick!

Jennelle - have a FAB vacation, I will miss you!!

Annie - read my quote below! Good luck with WW at home, I did pretty well with it, but have found I really need that accountability every week.. But everyone is different! I'm glad that my goals are inspiring you.. That's why I post as much as I do, figuring maybe I can help others.

Have a great day to everyone else!
Lots of Love

Hi all,

It's been a while since my last post. For the next couple weeks I'll be in and out. Just letting you know.

Well I went to the doctors today and gained 1.25lbs. But the nurse said that since I'm in the middle of TOM, I probably actually lost a lb. or so because I guess a lot weigh in at more then that. So I'm not worried. I kinda can't wait to go next week after my monthly friend is gone.

I have been not so OP over teh last couple days. My sister and I have been cheating. Sorry girls. I stay OP all day but then let my self give a little in the evening for icecream and popcorn. So it's not that bad.

Well you all have a great few days untill I can get back on.

OK, here goes my second attempt at posting... oi, lost the other one when I was halfway done with it earlier...

My ankle is somewhat better today, not as sore, and I haven't even iced it yetI'm still clueless as to how it happened, I guess I really am a clutz, like hubby said... other than picking on me about my lack of grace, he's so good to me, he stayed up last night to do some deep cleaning for me, so I wouldn't have to do it when I got up, which also gave me an extra hour's worth of sleep...whooohoo...my other swelling is WAY down, thank goodness, now I just have to get started on my water for the day to keep it off... I'm going to do a light sitting workout in a bit here, maybe try to get some crunched out, even though without my ball, I won't be able to do the full range I usually, do, because of my back... I actually grabbed a diet plan book from the library, I haven't read much of it yet, but it seems to have been written especially FOR me, hopefully it's not some drastic plan that can't be lived with....

Annie, nice to know I can inspire someone...lol, now if only being your inspiration inspires me to work harder, we have the perfect balance!

Beth Anne, 5 out of 6 ain't bad...lol I have beginners AM and PM yoga tapes, the PM tears me up, but I love the am

I have but one goal for the day... don't kill any kids...LOL, God help me, I was looking forward to being free until Monday, and poof, got suckered into watching one of the kids today...Ok, well, I'm out of here for now, gonna finish mail, and get the heck away form this computer again for a few hours... or at least do something constructive on it

Default I AM READY

Hi Friends
I stopped in to let you all know how I am doing. so far it is not good. I am not sick or anything like that. BUT I failed at my challenge to lose 10 pounds for this 6 week challenge. BUT I did make some progress in these.
Walking 3-4 days a week
Exercise/Tae bo 1 day a week
Water 7 days

Ok due to my slacking and my weight support group having their scale recalibrated my new starting weight is 278. BUT now I am at 276.50 due to a 1 1/2 pounds loss. Yes it's a start in the right direction.

So I am off to another 10 week challenge.
I will see you all lighter.
JOANNE

Hmm I can't seem to find my profile/info on the other thread? Did I get excluded?
