Talking Just Beginning...Again!

Hello everyone!

The name of this thread is just beginning...again which is what I am doing. I am so discouraged and unmotivated but I am going to try again for what seems like the millionth time to lose this weight for good. I guess I was just hoping maybe to extract some motivation from all of you so if you have any good stories or words of encouragement, I sure would appreciate them! Thank you so much!

Hello CaScarlett,

I would like that very much. It just seems like a never-ending cycle that I cannot seem to break loose from. Any words of encouragement would be most welcome. My husband is a cook and so it is very hard sometimes when he bakes such as the cookies he made last night! I am starting tomorrow since I have already blown it today. After all...tomorrow is another day!

Hi ladies...I'm fairly new here, too. I've found it to be a very supportive place, though. I started out needing to lose 102.5 lbs. to goal. Now I'm down to about 94 lbs. Still, it's a lot!

A small piece of unsolicited advice: Be careful with the "tomorrow" trap. If you "blow it," don't use it as a reason to binge for the rest of the day. Pick yourself up and start again the very minute you realize you've fallen off track. Trust me - the reason I'm 94 lbs. overweight is because there were WAY too many "tomorrows!"

Default Tomorrow trap

Wow! I thought I was the only one who did that whole binging because I blew it today thing! I guess we are all creatures of habit...good ones and bad ones. Cascarlett, it is great having someone to help motivate you. Thank you. So far, today is my first day and I am doing relatively well. I tried one of the salad dressing recipes on this site and it is pretty good. My husband is going to pick up a stop watch for me so I can time my walks. I want to see how long it takes me to do 4 miles. I will try and get a little faster each week.

Well, I will talk to you again!

I would first like to welcome you to our little group. Feel free to post all you like.

I am kinda starting over again as well. I was doing the slimfast thing and that wasn't working. So I have started a low carb diet. I'm Summersizing. We'll see how it works.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you can come up with and reply to any and all posts that you read.

Talking

I must say...I feel better already! I have lost 4 lbs. and walked 3.5 miles yesterday. My goal was 4 miles but it's a start! It was in the upper 90's and will probably be in the 100's this week so maybe it is a good thing I didn't push 4 miles. Anyway, I am happy so far. How are all of you doing? I hope everyone is doing well.

Bella23, I did that slimfast thing last year and let me tell you I lost a little more than just weight...I lost hair, my monthly cycle was completely out of whack, and I was in generally poor health. I did it for 3 months and followed it to the letter (exactly the way they said I should). Maybe this doesn't happen to everyone, but it did to me and I was even taking vitamins & supplements.

I am trying mainly just reducing my portions, soda, salt, fat, and calories and I don't feel like I am starving. I started Saturday.

Love to all of you,

Bonsies!

Hi there girls!!! slow and steady is the way to go. it did not get there overnight so do not expect it to go off that fast.

I have been here for what seems like ages but it has not been really that long in comparison I know that if it was not for this site i would not have lost any weight. I am currently comming out of a slump!!! (Jennifer if you are reading) I have slowly gained almost 20 of the 65 I had lost so i am struguling to get it off. I know that some of it is water but still!!! I am ready to kick butt!!!!! so now is the time to get ready and go for it.

Just remember if you blow it do not compound the damage and continue to eat for the rest of the day ghet back OP immediatly it is much easier. the more you stuff your faqce the harder it is to stop!!! vicious cycle as it makes you depressed so you eat then you eat cus you are depressed and then you are depressed cus you ate and well you get the picture. if you are having a ahrd time staying Op then find out your trouble time and then stay good for all the time till the trouble time. after that find out what you can do during the trouble time that can stp you from eating.

then think of this. hold your hands outlike you have orages in them. one holds your pride and the other holds your husbands cookies. which is more important to you. if youeat the cookies then that will taste good for only about 10 min then the taste is gone, then think of the pride.. that is with you forever, in 20 min which will mean more tto you the cookies or your pride.

HEY!!! the answer was the pride not the cookies!!!

welcome to the group!!!

Wink I lost another pound!

Well girls,

I have lost another pound for a total of 5 lbs. I only have 95 to go! Gosh will I ever get there? Anyway, I have been staying away from soda pop. Would you believe I used to drink a 12 pack in two days? That's regular Coke. Now I am drinking water and iced tea, no sugar. I have found that it quenches my thirst much better than soda and I can't even imagine how much sugar I have dumped with that small change in diet! I feel better already and I have only lost water weight I am sure. Well, gotta go for now. I wish you all good luck and God bless.

Yay for Bonsies!!

I used to drink diet Coke like that...I could go through a 12 pack in a day! Now, if I drink more than four or five, I get a funny aftertaste in my mouth that sticks with me no matter how many times I brush my teeth.

You go, girl

Woohooo! Congrats to you. Your hard work is certainly paying off. And the soda? Good riddens. Soda is horrible for our bodies, nomatter what. But I know too well how addicting it is.

have to agree with you all on the soda!! I was drinking 3-6 cans of reg dr. pepper! I loved that stuff - and naturally chips went so well with it

I have been off regular soda for about a month and I feel great! I still do have about 1 can of diet cherry coke every 2 or 3 days.

I think about 80% of my weight loss is no chips and no soda! the other 20% is limit fast food ( I now get salads at wendy's, mcdonalds - I have a 2 year - I had to make it work!)

Welcome to both of you! It is a long journey - the first two weeks are the hardest - after time it will start becoming your lifestyle. YOU ARE WORTH IT! Treat your body as a castle!

I forget who said it - but way to go on the 3.5 mile walk. I did 3 last week and just about died! Remember baby steps - (didn't you just love that movie - what about bob?!!)

Dana
235/219/212 10% mini goal - due date 4th of July!! I CAN DO IT!

Bonsies.......
Please be aware that as you lose weight you will hit a place where it will stop for a time in order to allow your body to adjust you have started out beautifully but don't set yourself up to fail by thinking it is fast enough or it is taking so long....... This is not a short term thing.... it is a life changing process and once you have met goal staying there. It takes a new mentality, a new way of looking at life and food, a new way of dealing with life. Keep going no matter what and I can promise you , you will be so proud of yourself in the end and your quality of life .....GLORIOUS!!!!!!!!!
