You've gotten great advice. It sounds as though if you minimize the issue it may go away. Lots of folks have the "project" concept about dieting...it is a start and end thing rather than a change in lifestyle.

I concur that if you don't talk about it, and don't judge they may begin to feel more comfortable. I find sometimes that if folks are really pushing me to eat something taking a very small piece and leaving it on my plate works wonders...just because you have it doesn't mean you have to eat it!

I'd also let your cook friend know that you are excited about being able to taste some of your old favorites...but not all of them at once, and maybe some of them not at all. The idea of engaging her in cooking healthy delicious things is a great one!

I think you may be right, Sandi. I hadn't thought of that...They havent't really had time to accept that this is the way I am...it is all still transitional to them.
I would never presume to tell them how to eat...So it really bothered me that what I do or don't eat affected them so.
I guess my eating habits really were just a part of how I was. They don't know how I am now. I guess that is uncomfortable after all these years. I just have to stick to it till they are comfortable with the new me...YAY! I get to keep my friends!
