Default it's a start

I walked for 20 minutes, which I know is not much. It's much better than what I have been doing for months-which is NOTHING!

Hopefully I can get myself to walk or ride the exercise bike for twenty minutes a day and work up to doing more gradually. I absolutely hate to exercise (bad memories of being a klutz in gym class)

Has anyone tried the Leslie Sansone walkfit tapes? Mine are gathering dust-I am going to start them soon, though.

Take care,
Sherry

I did my step tape for 30 minutes yesterday.

Sherry - 20 minutes is awesome. Just do 20 minutes a day and you'll be amazed at the results!!

Default exercise for 4/16

Good afternoon everyone-

Thanks for the encouragement. You are all such nice people!

I did ten minutes on the exercise bike this morning. I hope to do ten more minutes after my son goes to bed. It's too hot and humid today for walking.

Take care,
sherry

Walked Sunday and yesterday. I tried a tiny bit of running but my knee would not hold up without pain. so I've decided just to give up the running program idea for a little while. I think once I get some more weight off there will be less force on my knees and then I"ll be able to run.

suzie - think of it this way, if you weren't on your exercise bike what would you be doing for those 10 minutes? Sitting on the couch, talking on the phone, watching tv, washing the dishes, I don't know I'm just throwing these out. 10 minutes on the bike will burn more calories than any of those plus you will still burn more calories for awhile afterwards because you have boosted your metabolism a bit. Hey it's not going to stay boosted but it is better than nothing. Also you have to start small. Like me with this running thing, it isn't working and I am still having a bit of knee pain but I haven't quit exercising I'm just doing something else. Gradually I'll work my way back to running when the time is right.

well so far today, I got in my workout with hubby, plus 40 regular crunches, and 20 three point crunches.... a few squats, and some stretching... I WAS planning on taking advantage of the nice weather, and going out to jump rope for cardio, but wouldn't you know it snowed??? so I'll have to come up with something else...

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Sue. Know this time during the move will be tricky... it's so easy to slide off during upheaval... gotta hang in there cause I don't want to lose any leverage.

Did work on the garage yesterday for hours, that ought to be good for something. Will be doing my power walk today (1/2 hour).

Go for it ladies!
