Schmoodle - something I've done in the past when someone has given me an alcoholic drink and I don't really want it is saying that I am taking some medicine and I can't drink alcohol with it. Folks don't usually ask what the medicine is. But even tylenol - your not suppose to drink alcohol - they say. Seems like folks are more willing to accept us not drinking (or eating) something if it has to do with medicine or a specific health concern (diabetes, etc.)

I've gone to parties and said I'd only have a tiny taste of cake or none because I say I am pre-diabetic and am watching my sugar.

Now the real reason is my food plan - but, folks are just not as willing to accept healthy eating as a "real" health condition. It is what it is. Folks are just that way.

I am surprised your friend, also doing SB, would do this. Ya never know.

Forgive yourself and carry on!

Good Morning!

Beverlyjoy--Good for you for trying to figure out why you are overeating at night. I have been trying to clean my office at work for sooooooooo long! In two weeks my supervisor will be on vacation and I am going to try to find some time while she is gone to get it done. It's pretty gross!

Schmoodle--Don't apologize! You have 'listened' to me go on and on...about stuff more than once! Unfortunately, I probably would have drank it too, even if I didn't really want it--for the same reasons you said and just moved on today. BUT, next time I went over, I would say something ahead of time so she didn't have a drink ready and waiting. Like you said--today is a new day! We are trying to de-clutter too, but sometimes you can find some treasures! Plus, I have been spending too much $ on books, (or local library is really small and can't keep up w/ me!), so I try to buy lots in the summer.

After reading about Lyn's dinner w/ squash and pasta, I sauteed some zucchini and yellow squash in a little olive oil and garlic then added some diced tomatoes and served it over whole wheat pasta w/ a little grated Romano. It was SO good!!! (Thanks Lyn!)

I can't wait for the party this afternoon--should be a lot of fun.

Have a great on plan day!

Hi everyone,

Positive news: Weight wise, I've already dropped some lbs. which I'll wait to post for my official weigh-in!

Negative news: My back is bothering me and it's killing me to see the house so upside-down and not be able to actually do anything about it. It's not just that I can't exercise, but it's also that I can't clean the house or do the dishes. And while GOD_BLESS_HIM my DH has been occupying the kids all weekend so that I can rest my back and get better sooner...he is no multi-tasker. The bad news too is, once my back does feel better, guess who's going to be spending some major time trying to clean up (and hopefully not hurt herself again!).

I think too, I am feeling a bit housebound. I'm itching to go out and I can't.

Thanks for all the great welcoming messages. Schmoodle, MJ5, Beverlyjoy and everyone else, thanks!

Cheers,
Ginger
