YES, I wished I was skinny...but losing weight is HARD WORK...it takes commitment, thoughtfulness, determination, creativity, motivation, and sheer grit. I wasn't willing to put forth that kind of effort...so I REALLY didn't WANT to lose weight....I just wanted to be skinny!

This doesn't suprise me one bit that you understand and can relate. I can tell from your posts.
But yes, those 2 statements are very telling. Though very short phrases and very similiar they tell a heck of a lot. OF COURSE I always wanted to be thin. I just wasn't WILLING to do the work before to get me (and keep me) there. There's no big secret, there's no magic pill to losing weight. It's all about wanting it so, so, so, so much that you give up the high calorie/high volume food and to add in exercise. That you don't give into temptation and your cravings. And boy oh boy, it's not always easy. But it IS absolutely without a doubt doable. It takes a tremendous amount of determination, strength, willpower and commitment, a small price to pay if you ask me.
I still love what Lisamarie said - "Food tastes great - big deal. Being thin is way more enjoyable." I LOVE it. Sorry LisaMarie if I messed up the wording.
