I was bitten by a friend's dog Sunday and after several days of avoiding it had to go to the Doc-in-a-Box today and have it looked at. He put me on high dose antibiotics (825mg twice a day for 10 days) so looks like my last week and a half of P1 will likely be a bust. I was really hoping to make goal by the 15th. Man I HATE chihuahas.
That is a serious bummer! I hate little yappy yippy nippy dogs! Someone brought one by the house the other day and the little dog decided to try to take on my 20 lb cat - guess who won that battle?
And I almost forgot to tell - WI yesterday down 5 lbs! I'll take that!
Calcium can prevent antibiotics from being properly absorbed if taken too close to your medication. You should leave a 2-4 hour window on either side of taking your antibiotic before taking calcium.
Just want to say CONGRATS to everyone who has had a reason to celebrate this week (and Lisa - way to break that stall in style!)! I still lurk around the boards a LOT but don't post as much. Between life, work and still fleshing out what my "normal" eating needs to be, it's busy! But I love reading about everyone's journeys - you all keep me pointed in the right direction!
Got to stand up in defense of chihuahua's. My chihuahua/shitzu is NOT a bit yappy - in fact he never even barked until he was nearly a year old and heard someone outside our window during the night. He is going on 5, has never bitten anyone or even snarled. I am sure he never will as he is a lover Point is please don't make generalizations or HATE any breed of dog - or person for that matter. They and we are all individuals.

I'm so sorry your friend has a poorly trained dog and lacked the sense to leave the dog home/keep the dog penned. Has the dog been quarantined yet? Many states/municipalities have tough laws regarding dog bites to protect people from irresponsible dog owners (sorry to dis your friend but a yippy, nippy, biting dog is poorly trained/poorly socialized and that fault is the owner's)
You may be surprised the meds don't completely stall you out, but may just cause a slowdown. Here's hoping for the best & quick healing!
This plan is about the long term. We will get there, even through temporary disappointments.

Ok hate is a pretty strong word - used in the moment of frustration and anger over having to be on anti-bio - but I strongly dislike them and most small breed dogs. I am an animal lover by nature - 4 cats and 3 dogs (large) to prove it.
In defense of the dog (although I still dislike it) I opened the wrong door looking for the bathroom and am sure it was simply protecting what it considered private territory. Unfortunately for the owner the dr has to report all animal bites to the sheriff's dept and they'll be getting a call regarding the incident. All shot records are current so not too worried about anything other than infection at this point. The heat has subsided around the area already but it is tender and there's a lump directly under the puncture area.
Thanks to all regarding the calcium effects. I did not know that and will stagger the pills accordingly.
I am glad to see that shaking things up is working for you.
I know you will do your thing no matter what your coach says - because you are in charge - that attitude is one of my favorite things about you - but
I am curious to know if you have seen your coach since you started cycling, what did you tell her and what was her response - thanks and keep up the good work!

I went in today.
Last week she told me she'd check with IP re: my concerns and get back to me. I never heard from her and she didn't follow up today (she was a bit rushed...scheduling appts too close together). I was waiting for her to bring it up & when she didn't, I decided to leave it alone for now. Nothing she would say or do would change my mind anyway.
The only thing is, I'm paying a LOT of money for IP. If I'm not going to get follow-up, I'm going to consider whether or not I need this clinic/coach anymore. This will be my next decision, which I will also be making without her input.
Hello everyone! I've been MIA for awhile although still sticking with IP. Glad to see familiar faces and see some new ones!
It's been very slow-going for me with the loss lately as I see a few others are struggling with this too. I like the idea of shaking things up a bit myself and learning more about the other phases. I admit I'm getting bored, but also am a little fearful of venturing beyond what's familiar. I like that I don't have to give much thought to it, but I know more meal planning will eventually come into place when I go to other phases/maintenance. I can't be a phase-oner(?) all my life ;-D

I'll discuss it with DH.
I think you wouldn't have any issues at all if you decided not to use a coach anymore. You came up with this phase cycling plan on your own, and it is working. We all know you definitely don't need a coach for accountability!

I seemed to get stuck every 20 lbs or 10 lbs as I got closer to goal. Along with the scale moving slowly during those periods came boredom with phase 1. Mentally I just wanted to get on with the other phases. That boredom passed when I would shake up my food, but still stuck with phase 1. I did do a week of phase 3 to break a 3 week stall.
I didn't have any problems going from phase 1 to phase 3 and back again. I was nervous that it would be hard to go back to phase 1, but it was easy. The planning was pretty simple too. When I made dinner, I would also make my breakfast and lunch for the next day so that made phase 2 & 3 easy. It's a little more complicated than phase 1, but not as difficult as I thought it might be.
Afternoon everyone! Hope you heal up quick M35A2! Congrats on the WI Lisa, nice to know your intuition was correct
WI this morning was down 3 pounds I did have a big C issue last week for WI so 3 is a touch high because of that. I'm glad I listened to my body, I know longer get lightheaded and dizzy, and have way more energy. I'm starting P3 on Sunday, nervous and excited! Thanks for all the support here!
