Default 4 packets a day???

I was reading a previous thread that recommended anyone over 200 have an extra packet a day? I am on week 3, my first week i had a 6 pound loss. I see my coach every 2 weeks so I havent had a second weigh in. I feel content with only 3 packets a day though I am over 200. By the info I read, if my weigh in shows no loss I should start consuming an extra packet?? im soo nervous about weight loss... ive worked my butt off since having my baby and I lost only 10lbs in about 4 months. I have all hope on this IP diet!!

I started off at 388 and only have had 3 packets a day, never had I had 4. I have read that some add a packet if they exercise or if they get really hungry. Maybe someone else will chime in to help you.

I had asked my coach about this because I was curious. I am only 5'1" and have 20 more pounds to lose. I wondered why I was eating the same amount as men and others much taller and larger. She said anyone over 200 pounds eats 4 packets a day.

Right now, if you are content with 3 and are still losing weight, don't change it. If you find yourself in a stall, then try adding the extra packet to kick yourself out of the stall. Not everyone over 200# HAS to have a 4th packet. I believe the original poster of that was experiencing slow losses and was trying to kick start her metabolism to achieve better losses.

If you are so inclined, after the end of the 3rd week, you can start to add in exercise and then you can also add a 4th packet if you wish. You by no means have to do this, I am just suggesting it.

Don't worry about the program working. If you are sticking to it 100% it will work for you. Also, don't hit the panic button until there is a reason to. Wait until you have had your 2nd WI and take it from there.

Pat - thats weird because Taylor never recommended I eat a 4th pkg a day and I started well above 200....

I have been on 4 packs a day from day 1. I have been losing very well, untill 3 weeks ago I lowered myself to 3 packs and low and behold I put on 5 pounds with no explanation. I talked to my coach, my first mistake(which I should have known better) I use the treadmill 7 days a week for 45-60 mins on an incline, so of course I should be having the 4 packs. Secondly, she put me on the Alternative IP plan and thirdly had me do the cleanse again. Well, needless to say something worked. I lost the 5 pound gain plus another 3 and that's in 5 days. Very happy here, was getting extremely scared and discouraged. I adore my coach so much, she just seems to know exactly what to do.

In my case I think she wasn't thinking it though on an individual basis as it didn't really apply to me. But it still seems strange to me at 5'1' I am eating the same as much bigger people. The theory of course would be if it ain't broke don't fix it. I know she is monitoring carefully what is happening with each person individually.

I do know I won't have the big weekly drops many larger people have, so it's not nearly as exciting.
I actually weighed 204 ten years age so it's been a long road even before IP.

I started above 200 and they started me on 3 packets. I was told the only time I could have a 4th packet was if I was super hungry the first week, the idea being to keep me from resorting to a donut. Interesting the different advice people are given from their coaches.
