We've tried them all- ordered off line... I cook with the italian and the balsamic, my "favorite" is the thousand island but in all honesty they all have a funky after/ under taste.... I end up just using cider vinegar and olive oil.......

Default Cucumber Noodles

Found this today. Not sure how i'm going to cut the cucumbers but I sure do want to try this!

Cucumber Noodles
Serves4 (side dish)

Active time:25 min
Start to finish:25 min

Cooking cucumbers takes them out of the salad realm, transforming them into a side dish that's perfect with fish or white meat. Perked up with mint and lemon, they're as refreshing as ever.

3 seedless cucumbers (usually plastic-wrapped; 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 lb total), peeled
2 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil
2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh mint
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon finely grated fresh lemon zest
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Special equipment:
an adjustable-blade slicer with 1/4-inch julienne blade

Adjust blade of slicer to 1/8-inch-thick setting. Using slicer, cut each cucumber lengthwise into long 1/8-inch-thick julienne strips, slicing until you reach core, then rotate cucumber a quarter turn and continue slicing and rotating until left with nothing but core. Blanch cucumber "noodles" in a 4-quart pot of boiling salted water 1 minute, then drain in a colander. Immerse colander with cucumbers in a large bowl of ice and cold water to stop cooking, about 2 minutes. Drain cucumbers, then transfer to a clean kitchen towel and pat cucumbers dry.
Heat butter in a 10-inch heavy skillet over moderate heat until foam subsides, then cook cucumbers, mint, salt, pepper, zest, and lemon juice, tossing to coat, until just heated through, about 1 minute.

Default IP "Clam Chowder" (using potato puree)

With apologies to New Englanders, here is a clam chowder I came up with today:

1 c. celery, chopped
1 c. leeks, chopped
"saute" with cooking spray and some water until tender.
add
1/2 can clams and liquid, Mrs. Dash garlic and herb mix
stir in
IP potato puree mixed with 3 - 4 oz. water
top with butter spray or sprinkles and sea salt

this counts as veggies, one packet and 2 oz of seafood. Very chunky and very filling.

Feel free to play around with it and add your suggestions.

Has anyone come up with an equivalent recipe for the oatmeal? I'm thinking that if I combine unflavored isolate whey protein and real oatmeal it might work.

You may already know about this website, but I just found it. Has some recipes...http://www.reginaidealprotein.com/recipes.php

Also, I've been going through the hardcover IP recipe book and it has some nice flavor combinations and ideas.

Yes, it is allowed if you follow the serving size on the label. I think it is 2T. I have been using more throughout the day and it has not caused me any problems but I am only on week 2. Even though I lost over 8 lbs. last week, my doctor saw that I was having the dressing several times a day and he did say my weight loss would be lower if I continued this.

I really like the Sesame Ginger, Raspberry Vin. and Ketchup. The taste for these really vary.....many can't stand the taste. I hope I can move to olive oil and some sasonings for my salads.

I just made up a wonderful lunch recipe and thought I would share. I like the IP Leek soup as a base but am always doctoring it up with a few extras to tone down the taste a bit. Today I hit a winner.

IP Leek soup package
Mix with the desired water, I usually use about 12 oz when mixing vegetables into my soup
1 cup spinach leaves
a small handful of fresh parsely
a few fresh mint leaves
a few hot banana peppers
Heat and blend together.
Nice combination of heat and fresh herbs.

For the rest of my lunch I had a WF Caesar salad with romaine lettuce and a few kale chips crumbled over top. I made the kale chips with a tex-mex style spice mix. It was a nice alteration to a plain salad.

Thanks for the site Sewmam. The recipes are the favorite part of the forum for me. Keeps me from getting bored with the same old things.

I make the cereal pancake every morning. I use
1/4 cup egg whites
1/4 tsp baking powder
sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg
1pkg crushed IP crispy cereal
1 or 2 oz of water to make it not quite so thick

Makes 3 pancakes ( or 1 very big one lol)
