when I was little I HATED pizza, ice cream, cake.. ugh I still wish I hated all of those things, I would be a twig!
Now, I think the only food I really really hate is peanut butter. I have only tried it once but I'm pretty sure I almost threw up. How anyone could eat creamy nuts on white bread.. I can't even think about it! And the smell?
On the other hand, I could probably LIVE off sushi. I'm actually going out to dinner tonight for it, can't WAIT. It's healthy too, yay!
I hate fish unless it is breaded and deep fried and slathered in the malt vinegar....I hate most nuts...and i really, really hate coconut. I can never manage to get all of the coconut out of my mouth....YUCK!! same with most nuts...they just never seem to completely disappear.
Hummus and tahini, both of which my husband loves, so they are always in the house...too bad cause I'm a vegetarian, and hummus would be a great protein source...i
haha, looks like sushi gets no love from the featherweights -- too bad, 'cause I LOVE 'em.
Olives (most of 'em anyways) are what grosses me out, though I do like olive oil.
I also don't care much for lamb either, it has a gamey taste I find off-putting (even more so than rarer meats like buffalo or ostrich, which I can deal with).
Any and all seafood. Can't stand the sight or smell of it. Shrimp look like fat worms to me and lobster looks like a big tarantula. The only fish I ever ate was tuna and I gave that up a long time ago.
I really really wanted to love sushi. Went through a long period where I thought if I just kept eating it, I'd eventually get over the texture issues. The concept is fascinating to me and I have no problems with the raw fish thing or the flavors...there is just something about the texture of raw fish as prepared in sushi that my mouth can't handle.
My DH loves poutine with brown gravy - barf, barb BARF
Tofu is not a favorite and, has anyone tried the dessert tofu? Sweetened slime!
Not a fan of any canned veggies either - another DH family favorite that I have to smile and eat at all holidays when his sister is cooking.
Funny story. At last Thanksgiving I took a fresh veggie tray and dip, at her request, along as my contribution. She had also made a "healthy" veggie dish especially for me - broccoli with bacon, cream cheese (full fat) and oil and herb dressing. Luckily they have a labrador who will eat anything, including broccoli. She means well
OMG . . . yes I remember trying some coffee-flavoured pseudo ice cream tofu bars . . . I had a couple of bites . . . kept saving them (I hate to waste), but luckily my fridge went on the fritz and they all melted . . . too bad, so sad. . .
