Default Eating and exercising

Hi guys, just a quick question.

At the moment I'm hitting the gym in the morning before I head to work. I have time to eat either before or after. My question is - when is the best time to eat in relation to exercise. Everything I've read seems to contradict itself.

Does anyone have any info/ experience they'd like to share?

eat whenever is most comfortable for you. Some people get naseaus if they eat before, some peopledont have energy if they dont eat before. As long as you are eating within an hour window (in either direction) you will still get the benefits of nutritional recovery

Ditto^ in the grand scheme if you're not a pro athlete, it really doesn't matter.

If I'm working out in the am I rarely eat unless I wake up starving and my performance is usually good. For pm workouts, I usually need a snack to get me through or I get light headed and week during my workout.

I'll faint/passout during morning exercise without food in my belly. It's like everyone else already said....it's different for everyone. Depends on how you feel. One thing though...I agree w/Mkroyer, I would NOT workout until at least 1 hr before or after eating. I tried this and it wasn't very fun running and upchucking all at the same time.

Sorry for tmi

I eat both before and after. I tried to exercise first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and it made me throw up. Now, I have my coffee, a yogurt and piece of fruit about 20 minutes before I leave for the gym, and then I'm usually starving by the time I get to work so I'll have another small thing (another yogurt, oatmeal, or a vitamuffin).

I usually eat a little something before and after exercising I get hungry about 30 min-1 h and then I eat a proper meal.

As some people already mentioned, it's up to you what you feel works best for you

i had tried using protein shakes in my exercise plan and diet aswel i had a satisfactory result in a reasonably short time which am happy for. Protica brand should be tried in my opinion
