I bought a George Foreman Grill yesterday, and tried it today! I posted some pics here on this thread.

Hi everyone! It has been a crazy mad week for me. I am sooo looking for summer to be done with... sad but true!

My SL have been great this week. I have actually been able to reduce my meds and my levels have still stayed just great.

Monet - I hope you get to feeling better really soon!

Kim - Congrats on the baby girl - looking forward to getting to know you!

Meowee - Sorry to hear about your parade and I am keeping fingers crossed for your weigh in - -- positive thoughts going your "weigh".

Thin - Glad that you found a dress and did well at the function. Take heart - most people are blind to the obvious until they get hit in the head with it.... take a rolling pin to the next function.

Kitty - Good job at the Olive Garden - that place used to be a death trap for me.... hopefully - if I ever get the nerve to go back - hopefully - I will do as well as you.... the food there is awesome!

Rosey - Hope your MIL is doing better.... how are you doing with the grandkids?

Soiley - Good luck with the tumbleweeds......

This week is just going to be crazy too - - - between work, kids activities and getting ready for our weekend trip, I think I am going to be half nuts by the time Friday gets here and I may just send everyone off and stay home by myself, locked in my room with a big bottle of wine.....LOL

Howdy everyone...

My blood sugars DO fluctuate a bit at my TOM... and I just got mine yesterday. Luckily, I think I'm only retaining TWO pounds, as opposed to 5+... yay! Orrrr MAYBE, I LOST two pounds and am retaining four... I guess I'll find out when my TOM is over, huh?

You know, it must be a type 1 vs. type 2 thing, but for me, 150 is a fine number! I don't really consider it to be high. Anything below 170, in my opinion, is considered good. Then again, if you've seen numbers ranging from 50 all the way to 500, anything in the 100's is passable!

In other news, I stopped carb detox because I'm broke until Tuesday and the only good food left in my house right now is stuff with carbs in it. I had to pay my rent and bills, you see, and I can't very well go to my landlord and say, "Sorry... can't make rent... I have to carb detox! Hopefully next month..."

THIN: I HATE HATE HATE HATE when I've lost weight and people don't notice, but sadly, they often don't notice unless you've lost a REALLY DRASTIC amount. Some weight conscious people will notice, but other more oblivious people won't see it until you've lost a very monumental amount. It's quite sad, eh? I always notice when people lose weight... but most of 'em are just not that observant.

Morning all!

Rosey - how did the capes come out?

Hope everyone is doing okay today....

My levels were a little bit high - but I snacked a little bit last night.... so I can just figure why they were a little high.

On the upside - I got on the scales - I managed to lose another pound...

Now that is the way to start a Monday!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning . . .

Another rather cool and rather dull day in Atlantic Canada. Lobster Carnival is over for another year and as usual the weather could have been a lot kinder.

My BGL could hve been a lot kinder this morning, too -- 7.1 (128) when I got up -- definitely higher than when I went to bed. Oh well. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. Still think I'm having too many nighttime lows. Going to increase the amount of insulin I take in my morning shot and decrease the amount in the bedtime one by about 50% and see if it makes a difference.

Here's another informative article about the many forms of Neuropathy that plague Diabetics . . . http://www.everydayhealth.com/public...dd65cddf48&p=1 . . .

So . . . question for today . . . How many (if any) types of neuropathy have you noticed . . . For me the answer is (unfortunately) quite a few -- definitely have some shooting, tingling types of pains in my feet and some mild numbness in a couple of fingers -- also have some difficulties with sluggish digestion and bladder emptying -- and some periods of profuse sweating (my doctor seems to think they are leftover from menopause, but I tend to disagree - it's a good ten years since my last period ).

Okay, gang I've got places to go and things to do. Hope you all have a great moving and shaking kind of day ahead of you. See you later . . .

Good morning everyone. This will be a busy week for me, getting ready for weekend guests. My 14 yo dgd "cleaning lady" (she is also my "yard man") will be coming over Thurs to mop for me. I just can't manage that. Gives her a chance to earn some money, and gets my floors clean without me doing it.

Rosey - hope your mil is better and that you are feeling better too. Monet- so sorry that pesky cold is hanging on so long. Shane - it's not just a type1 thing about high bsl. Mine range that way too sometimes. I personally am highly affected by stress, both mental & physical. This time of year when the weather is so hot, I can count on mine being 50-100 higher than they usually are. I guess everyone is different. I'm just happy when mine stay in the 100's.

As to neuropathy. I have some peripheral. I have some autonomic symptoms, but neuro's can't say whether it is from diabetes or the effects of having had polio as a kid, and post polio now. The symtoms are the same, and so is treatment (or lack of it in some cases). If I'm in tight control, I call it post polio - if my sugars are bouncing around, I call it diabetes.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start.

Hello everyone! The cold is a bit better. I am wondering if it has morphed into a sinus infection now. I am keeping busy in the studio trying to make a few new things. I experimented with dogwood flowers and orchids and I am liking what I am working on. I also wedged up about 30 pounds of clay from the slop bucket.

I kind of fell at church last night while carrying the leftovers from communion downstairs to clean them up. I ache all over from the fall!

My bg was 129 this morning- a tad high, but coming down at last.

Just wanted to fly by and say hello. Take care everyone!

Hi everyone -

My life sucks so bad......

First things first -

Judy - good luck with your craft show.

Monet - sorry to hear about your fall - feel better soon!

Jeanne - SLOW DOWN - Your doing too much

Rosey - Keeping your mil in my thoughts

Okay so why does my life suck - turns out my identity was STOLEN - got a letter from a debt collector - went round and round - and apparently there are more coming my way. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS - I am pretty close to going completely MENTAL. There are some many things that you have to do to prove that you are innocent and not responsible for these accounts.

Take care everyone!

Identity theft is a huge problem, you are not alone in having it happen to you.

I'm so sorry you are going through this, Penney
