Heya Miriam....

I'll try not to blather on and on. You really want to know? I feel bad cluttering the challenge thread with my lengthy chitchat!

When I first started I had no idea on how to proceed, because I had so much weight to lose. So, what I did was look through every diet plan I could think of, and what successful losers had done. I mosh-poshed it all together and made the FB plan! I count calories, eat really clean, focus on proteins and get my carbohydrates from their 'natural' state (like veggies, grains, legumes), avoiding carbohydrates that are refined. My problem was crap food - doughnuts, hotwings, chips, candy. This way of eating doesn't include those, but I don't miss it because I feel so much better without it.

I paid attention to what the lean mean bodybuilders at my gym were doing, so later on I upped the protein even more (usually seafood and poultry) and the healthy fats. I don't think I'm on a low carbohydrate diet, because I don't concern myself a ton with counting carbs, the way I eat just eliminates the junky ones.

I eat about 6 small meals a day, comes out to 1500 calories. I also put in my cardio and weightlifting time. Ultimately I'd like to be a dangerous, lean, mean fighting machine myself!

I think the reason I'm doing okay is because I've never taken a day off, I stick to my plan regardless. Also, that I've made all of my own 'rules' - so with my diet there's nothing truly off limits. I'm glad I've been able to stay so focused (or obsessed as my husband likes to say) or I don't think I could have come so far this year.

HTH!

By the way, thanks everyone for the shoutouts! Love these challenges and you girls, so supportive!

Confession, I didn't weigh in today for the FIRST time this year. The first time! I was rushing out the door to get to a shoot and forgot. Oh well, right? I figured it wasn't a bad thing, since I'll be mental if I've lost even more.

Julie, it's reassuring to hear that your mom lost quickly too. It makes me feel 100% better.

FB: You 'FB' program sounds a lot like my 'fauxtini' program! I read lots of books.. lots of protein, foods in theier natural state .. carbs that are not refined... veggies up the wazooo! cut back sodium, refined sugars. I don't eat after dinner.. except for an occasional tea/decaf. I try to at least get a casual walk in if I can't get to the gym
I weigh in every morning, i write down what i eat, i challenge myself.

I still read lots of books about all around health, physically, emotionally, mentally. I don't let myself lose focus. it's either all or nothing and I can't imagine the 'nothing ' side of things. lol

I only eat food that will benifit my body. ( except pepercorn ranch on my openfaced sandwiches at lunch ) The joys of creating my own health plan is that i can make something that works for me and never feel like i'm suffering or losing out or something.

I ever feel hungry.. and I feel like a WHOLE other person now. There's no crap in this body anymore! hehe

Sorry i went into a tangent about myself... i've just never succsesfully lost before.. and this is working miracles on me!

I ENJOy what i eat.. I love creating visually/tasty, exciting foods and look forward to creating my meals.

and this place.. i couldn't do it without 3FC.. and I mean it! Im onhere everyday!

Sounds good, FB and Faux, so FB - if you're losing that well on that much food - sounds great to me! I'd take it! Hehe
