Brenda, there's two types of low-carbers in the marketplace: Genuine WOLers like you and I (and the peeps on this board!) then there are the *fad dieters* - the people who jump onto Atkins, South Beach etc because they heard it's a quick fix...this second market is the one Coca-Cola is aiming for with their C2 product. People that don't have a clue, couldn't be bothered reading the book, and are suckers for anything labelled "low-carb", regardless of what the nutritional panel says.
Well, God willing I'll be on this "craze" for the rest of my life. Unless there's a medical necessity (or I can't make my own food anymore) that I have to eat carbs I see no reason this WOE can't be a lifetime commitment.
*and this is where we all say "I do" and "if anyone objects..shut your mouth!"*
Don't people realize it's a "no sugar" thing??? Not just low carb...jeez how pathetic - Next thing you know they'll be advertising low carb Krispy Kreme donuts...only half the sugar and carbs.
We need a "promotional offer" - free atkins book with every dozen - READ IT!
Yeah, I read that too. I thought the same thing....diet coke has no carbs so why would I buy a can of coke with 13 nasty ones? Talk about preying on the desperate. It's really an insult to your intelligence. How stupid does coke think the American public is? Apparently, they think we're VERY stupid. Nice!
As the token Aussie, I'd have to agree there...nothing personal against any of you wonderful chicas, but the general opinion out here in the "rest of the world" is that the American public is (collectively) dumb as a box of hammers.
Of course, I know my share of not-so-bright people, but note that they're launching it first in Japan! So maybe we dumb Americans will be spared the insult of having them try to market it to us.
Does that mean we're "slow" to react also? Jeez, they already say that Japan is smarter than us. Or does that just mean we're pickier about our products??
