Sue and LuLu, sorry y’all are going through that with comments from family. Even family sometimes doesn’t think about how their words impact those around them. Just know both of you ladies are amazing, doing amazing, and are a huge inspiration to me and many others on here and elsewhere in your lives I’m sure! So when someone, no matter who says something to get you down, remember that!

Sorry about your Mom Pam. It’s nice to still have that encouragement though, what a great thing she left you with!

Monte, loss of appetite, not a stupid problem. I get it! It’s hard to eat when not hungry and then if you don’t eat you don’t lose – I know. I wish I had advice for you, but as I’m in that struggle now, I have no idea. Is this a new problem or something you always struggled with? If new, see if you can figure out the why and that may help.

So in addition to the weight loss here are my other goals:
•Drink a minimum of 80 oz of water a day
•Eat a minimum of 1200 calories per day
•Get back to tracking my foods in MFP
•Stay on track with my daily 2 mile walk
•Starting a 30 day exercise program with FitnessBlender today – stick with it!

SW: 317.4
GW: 298.0
Total lbs to lose: 19.4
Total Achieved: 5.2
07/09 317.4
07/16 312.2

Water - I'm still struggling, it's a bit hit and miss, but more days at this then not now so I will keep improving
Tracking - I have tracked my foods every day
Walking - I have not walked every day, weather has been an issue, lots of rain
FitnessBlender - I have stayed on track with my workouts.

yesterday was a bad day. I gave in to some sugar cookies at the school cafe when I was buying a drink right before class. Not sure if there was a trigger, other that they looked so dang good, but it could have been stress. Class had a test yesterday, I felt 1000% ready but I didn't study much because I felt I knew it, but at the last minute idk I was sorta worried. It didn't seem enough to be a trigger but who knows. (I think I did well on the test BTW)

After class my mom called, my grandmother has been in a nursing home, she has been fading mentally for a couple years, in the last few months she has been sleeping most of the time and doesn't recognize anyone when she is awake. Anyways, she has apparently had a turn for the worse, my mom wasn't sure exactly what happened but I'm guessing slipped into a coma from what my aunt told my mom. The doctors seem to think that she had a stroke in her sleep night before last. They were having a hospice doctor come evaluate her and see if moving her to hospice is needed. It upset me, but not dramatically, as it has been obviously heading that way for a couple years now; either way, I got home and had a bunch more food I shouldn't be eating, chips, cheesey bread, chicken, and chocolate lava cakes from dominos.

*sigh* so back to it today, I am also going to try to not eat out for a couple weeks as that has been what has slowed me down again I think.

You are all such an inspiration to me, when I see where you started and where you are now it helps me to know I too can do this and maybe some day inspire a newbe... it has become easier to resist temptations and even made it through the weekend without cheating!!!!

pnkrckpixikat, im sorry to hear that I recently went through something similar and my heart goes out to you

Ali06, I understand the not being hungry part and trust me I have paid the days I skipped a meal :-( you seem to be on top of it and are heading back down again

I get "hungry" but nothing sounds good...lol. I also get the munchies at night (after dinner), but while not being hungry. Old carby habits die hard. Thank God I did not have any suggary items that I normaly gravitate to. I just cannot keep the stuff in the house. If I do, it calls to me in my brain - know what I mean?? I settled on a handful of peanuts and went to bed.

I think I will set a modest goal for Labor day. I want to be at 179 by that date. That's about 6 more pounds, which I think is doable. If I go below that, it's a bonus!!

I don't remember my daily weigh in's past Monday, so I'll post here:
7/14 186.8
7/15 185.8
7/16 185.4

Sorry about your g-ma pnkrckpixikat. As I mentioned, I lost my mom last Nov. She was 94 and doing pretty well with the help of my 92 yo Dad. Also had some dimentia, but not bad with him around. She also had a stroke and 2 days later, slipped into a coma. She was placed in hospice on a Wednesday and never really regained conciousness. She would make noises a little and open her eyes, but I'm told that is normal. By Friday evening, there was no more movement and her vitals began declining. It got to the point that her body was there and her heart and breathing were on auto-pilot from her brain. Then on Sunday, she slipped away quietly while we (the family) were in the room watching a Rams game. I looked up from my laptop and noticed her chest was no longer going up and down. I was such as sad moment for all of us. Be prepared for the process. It can be 1 day to about a week. Prayers for your family. Your grandma will be going home soon and the joy that it brings.

Pam

Pixi... I am so very sorry about your Grandmother.. Oh I give you a big hug! Even knowing that this was happening hurts so much (Yesterday was the anniversary of my sisters death 9 years ago and I still hurt! and miss her!) Just like Pam's mom I am sure your grandmother is surrounding you all with love!

Antonia.. you are so close to getting back to your low weight! Good for you!
Ali..you are down on that scale too!... Have you tried walking around inside your house? I have made up a path of 120 steps and Sunday got 3 miles in LOL Poor poor carpet getting treaded on.. but it works!
Jessie.. Good to see you on the Down Down dance too! Keep it going!
Pam.. I think your goal is very doable! and I bet you make it to that weight before labor day... I do!

Hope you all don't mind if I join you. I have several months to go, but my horse is in trianing until OCt 5th, and I want to lose as much as possible by then. If I fit in my show outfit, I will take him to a few shows this fall, something I have wanted to do forever, but have been too fat!
I started low carb (Atkins based) just trying to eat as few carbs as possible each day, and work out. My start date was 7/2 at 238. Yesterday I was 234 and had lost 3 inches. I don't weigh everyday.
I will join the next challenge, for now just wanted to say hi!

Pixicat - sometimes husbands just don't get it..lol. Pizza always maked me thirsty, so I'm not surprized about your thirst! I ate pretty good yesterday. Had my FAVORITE carb smart toffee ice cream bar after dinner and still lost 1 pound yesterday!! Loving this diet!! If you are not on inductions, go get a box!!!

Got busy this morning and had to stop at McD's for breakfast. I got a sausage/egg biscuit and took 1/3 the english muffin off, tore it up and threw it to the birds. I figure what was left was about 14 carbs, not bad. Having a left over pork chop for lunch...maybe a salad later. Just not very hungry.

It may be a tough weekend. We are going to the Angel's game in Anaheim and then the next day to some Tequilla festival near home. Ugh- I'm hoping there will be some legal choices for me!!

I had a in work training day where we all went out to lunch together, I brought my own salad dressing and at the restraint while everyone around me was eating fries and sandwiches I had a bacon Amish cheese burger no bun with mustard and a side salad with olive oil and vinegar and then when they ALL ordered pie 5 pieces and passed them around the table (2 were my favorite) I politely denied and didn't even die inside
I am just trying to remember that the yoyo is ok and daily it does not reflect a weekly change 3.2 in a week is not bad i'll take it

Lost 1.4 pounds last week Over all I have lost 3.8 pounds since "Operation Finland" started two weeks ago. If I keep this up, I could be close to goal by the time my trip rolls around.
