Hey there everyone......after a year off from WW I'm back and ready to serious action. Now mind you when I say a year off from WW, I don't mean a year off from weight loss.....last October I started in on the ATkins craze, and while I lost 35 lbs from then to now, I grew very tired of it's restrictions and having to say no to everything offered my way. Not to mention the ridicule the program gets from everyone!! My breaking point was when I was staring at a bowl of strawberries and knew they had too many carbs for me that day, but in "point" land they'd only be 1 pt.....that's when I said, That's it....it's back to WW for me.
I've known from experience how well WW works, and having lost on the program before it was time to return. So armed with past journals and materials.....I'm on my way. Smack dab in the middle of week two and still loving it!!! I can't remember feeling this free......free from eggs, meat and cheese.....free to make food choices!!! I love the accountability of journaling and counting points, compared to the free reign on food as long as it had low carbs, when I think of the calories I had put into my body on Atkins, I cringe and truly wonder how I lost at all!!!
We're coming up on summer and I'm loving that I can have fruit and veggies again!!!
So in a nutshell, I'm looking for some cool chickies to be frequent posters with me....so we can support each other on this wonderful journey called life!!! ;) I'm looking for some straight shooters....who aren't afraid to tell it like it is and expect the same from me. I want to hear the good and the bad!!! I check the computer often and want to hear every detail no matter how small you might think it is.....that's how we learn the inside tips and info from each other!!! So if you're up for the challenge and ready to start kickin some butt, why not do it together!!!!

Hi there!
I like your attitude. :D I just rejoined after a year or two off. I can't remember exactly. I was a member for over two years and lost extremely slowly but that was fine by me. For some reason I stopped going when I was only 5 pounds from goal :?: . I kept it off but didn't lose any more on my own. And recently I've put on almost 10 pounds :o , so I rejoined a few weeks ago and plan to go all the way this time. I'm going back today after missing the last few weeks due to having the kids at home two weeks for spring break and four weeks taking turns being sick. Everyone is well now and I'm free to go to a meeting today.
I'd love to give and get support here. :)
I'll check in again after my weigh-in today.

WW Chickie, I know what you mean about Adkins. I tried it also, but find Weight Watchers so much more sensible. You can basically have anything if you watch portions. I lost 50 pounds with ww at one time, but am starting over. I have lost 9 pounds this time and am determined to keep losing! I would be happy to support you and need the same.
Olive2, I seem to be losing slowly this time also. it has taken me six weeks to lose 9.2 pounds. However, I don't really care. I've finally come to the conclusion that I will be doing this the rest of my life, so what't the rush as long as I get there eventually!
Do either of you know how to get the weight loss tracker at the bottom of your post? I'm assuming WW Chickie does as you have one. Thanks in advance.

Hey guys,
Welcome to the beginning of our little group!!! I too am losing more slowly this time and have to keep reminding myself to look at the big picture instead of the weekly or daily( I'm addicted) weigh in!! Not to mention it's been forever since I'd gotten under 200 and stayed there!!! I keep telling myself it's taken me ten years to gain all of this, it won't come off overnight, and that seems to help.
I also think back on how I was the first time I started WW.....I was so dedicated and so true to myself and my points totals and after time find that I have to work harder and harder to keep that spirit. Granted I'm bound to have a few slip ups....that's what flex points are for....and only what there for as far as my own decision. I try not to use them unless absolutely necessary!!! Other people use theirs every week....where do you guys stand on this??
As far as the weight tracker....click on mine....and then follow the directions...when you get to the last step, copy and paste where they tell you to and then paste it to your signature in your cp. Hopefully that helps. Will catch everyone later!!

I would like to join you as well. I've been a member of WW's off and on for about 3 years. The most I have ever lost is 10 years. Last week I determined that I was going back on the program and sticking it this time. I'm at my heaviest and knwo that I have to lose this weight. Last week I lost 2.6 lbs and this week hasn't been that great. I'm a little nervous about going to weigh in because I don't think I have lost any. I should go anyways and just use my no weigh in pass. At the same time I feel I should go and weigh in. Even if I have gained, this week is a new week and I'm going to do better. :) Sorry for rambling.

I use all of my flex points most weeks. I divide them up so I have 5 extra points a day. Unless I have something coming up that will be challenging. Then I may bank them to use.
I found the place to get the weight tracker, but must not have cut & pasted correctly. I'll try again. Thanks! Until then I'm going to make my own.

Hey y'all,
Welcome to the gang sweet lilac and skermie!!! Sweet Lilac can't wait to hear more from you....as you can tell I don't stray far from the puter either...as this is my 3rd post today!! lol
Skermie...as for you girl...hats off for sticking in there! I am an off and on er myself and I think positive thinking has a lot to do with success....not to sound like a happy-go-lucky cheerleader, because trust me I'm as cynical and sarcastic as anyone else, but if you keep telling yourself you can do it, keep up with the positive thinking.....look in that mirror and say 2.5 lbs down......2.5 lbs that you never have to think about again!!! I've finally gotten to the point where I'm not a slave to those three little numbers on the scale.....as long as I know that at the end of each day there's nothing else I could have done better.... I know the scale and tape measure will start reflecting that too!!! Those days of going to weigh in when you think you're going to be up....they're tough....but that takes courage....and you hold your head high....take your medicine and know that no matter what those three little numbers are you're going to do better this next week!!!! You said it yourself!!! Those three numbers don't measure who we are.....we are awesome, and we're doing something!!!! And together we're going to kick some butt....lord knows mine needs it!! lol.
Okay with the rah rah pep talk out of the way....I'll stop preachin' ....
Despite really not wanting to, I just got done with my 45 minute workout....30 minutes on the elliptical...while I watched a taped episode of the Bachelor...lol...and then 15 minutes of resistance training. Now it's time to crash in the recliner, watch American Idol and read my issue of Shape that came in the mail today!! I'm all out of points for the day so it's me and my water mug for the night, and possibly a cup of tea for a bedtime snack!!
Catch y'all later and I'm so glad I started this group...can't wait to get to know everyone better!!!

Hi all. I'm feeling lucky! I just started back on ww too. Today is my first day, and would love to join you guys. I did ww a few years ago with some success. I was able to lose about 35 lbs., and unfortunately have put it all back on. I also found a lot of support on the 3FC's forum, so decided to come back here too. Good luck to you all. I look forward to the support and being supportive.
Could I also join you guys?? I just started WW 3 weeks ago, have lost 5.4 pounds so far. I'm kind of shy when it comes to posting, :o but I would love to participate..

Welcome everyone....the more the merrier!!!
I was down 2lbs this morning....I'm a scale addict in case I didn't mention that before!! lol So I was incredibly happy.....counting points and exercizing works, who'd a thunk it??!!
Last night I went back to my very first WW journal that did almost 3 years ago for grocery list and snacking idea....my I was more creative back then. Lots of 1pt bread and buns and free salads and way more 0 point foods than I'd think of eating now....but I was also very successful back then so I'm taking some of it to heart. Bought a bikini top the other day...a halter that ties, granted by no means am I going to be frequenting the local pool in this get up, but have a great juicy tube dress to wear it under while I'm out in the yard or just around the house.....still it was fun!! Swimsuit season is always such a dirty word around here and this year and 40lbs lighter....I'm not so dreading it!! Can't wait until the END of swimsuit season to see where I'm at then. There's just too many cute clothes these days for me to stay this size....lol gotta keep going just for that! Well better get on with the day....check back later

hey girls, mind if I join.
it sound llike we all have similar stories. I'm back on ww but until goal this time. I hope to be 150 by my 30th b-day whichis in a year and a half. I HAVE to keep motivated. the last time was even under 200 was when I was 18 and I had just lost 50 lbs then. oh why can't I keep it off? no point and getting mad at my self now I just have to make the right choices.
oh an eating out tip. I was journaling last night and I had eatten a Einstin Bros. salad for lunch. I didn't know the points so I had to look it up once I got home. I was floored, it was 12 points for one salad! I won't be getting that again! they have a veggie hummus sandwchich which is 7 points still a lot but not 12. you can't trust a salad you don't make yourself!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome all, this is going to be a great thread, I can tell already.
I weighed in yesterday and was still under my original weight of 6 weeks ago, but only by 2lbs. Better than gaining I guess. But I'm back on track now and am going to journal and exercise. The only way I can lose.
I have always had a problem sticking to my points limit. It's way to small for me, I feel hungry and like I'm on a diet, not a way of life, so with all my years of WW I have found that I can eat up to 38 points and maintain(140), and 31 points and lose 1/2 pound or so a week. Even though that is glacial, I prefer it to being hungry, giving up and eating 45-50pts like I do when I'm totally off program. I just have to make sure I exercise 4x's a week to eat that many points. I'm sure as I lose I'll have to eat fewer. I've never made it under 140 and that is my problem. I'm only 5'2 and would love to get down to 120, my WW goal is 136. So, I need to eat more 0 points food and bring down my points. My goal now is to ave. 28pts a day a week.
jennie934 - stick with us here and we'll keep you motivated. I know you can do it! I know what you mean about restaurant food, even the healthiest thing on the menu ends up 10 or more points. I just have to stay away from them when I'm trying to lose, but that's hard!
WWchickie - Way to go on the 2lbs!!! Yeah, sometimes counting points and exercising does work ;) I go back to my old journals for inspiration too, back when I was good and motivated. Now I'm just a jaded old timer hoping to get back that magic.
jarden - great job on the loss so far!!! Be sure to at least lurk even if you don't feel like posting, it's a great way to stay motivated and get advice. I've always been a major lurker, I'm just going to try posting more now.
macy_b - welcome! I've gotten much support on 3FC too. I've been coming here since Jan 1999 when my firstborn was just a baby and I've gotten sooo much help, knowledge, advice, inspriation, I don't think I'd be where I am now without it.
Skermie17 - glad to have you here! How'd it go at your weigh-in? I've used the pass before. Sometimes I just don't want to see that number when I feel I've had a bad week. I just have to get right back on track.
Hi sweetlilac, welcome and hope to hear from you soon.
BJ3 - I like your attitude about losing slowly, this isn't a race, there is no finish line, just need to make this a part of our lives and our bodies will follow.
Okay, this may be my longest post ever, but I just want to say hi to all and get the conversation going...

Thank you for welcoming me.. Promise to try and de-lurk more.. Lol.. :D
I found your post interesting, since I, on the other hand, have no problem sticking to the points, but I tend to loose steam and that's when I have problems. Im a case of the old all or nothing mentality, so I go from eating super healthy to all the way junk and sugar everyday. I think others can relate to this..
So, I've compromised to not loosing as much as I know I could if i went radical, but rather concentrating in trying to eat what I know I will enjoy so I can enjoy my dietary lifestyle..
Crossing fingers for tonight's weigh in ..

Hey y'all...entry #2 for the day!!! It's so nice out today can't wait until after work so I can go rollerblading for 45 minutes or so!!!
As far as my inside tips on breads and salads: The bread that I get is either D'Italiano light which is 2 pcs for 1 pt, or Village Hearth 1 pt two pcs. Village Hearth also has 1 pt wheat and white buns which are good sized and awesome!!! Then they also have english muffins that are only 1 pt a pc... I can always find them at the local Hyvee or Walmart super store!! As for my salad I take shredded lettuce or spinach or both, cut up some tomato in it, some cucumber, some green pepper and sometimes some onion and sprinkle greek seasoning on it and toss......all are zero pt foods....so I call it my free salad....granted technically if you add up all the calories in it, it's probably more like 1-2 pts....but you can have 5 zero pt foods before you have to count a pt....so I just call it free. Then of course depending on how many pts you want to use...you can add turkey, a egg, some cheese ect....and figure that on top of everything else. It's very filling and I pare it with a turkey sand on my 1 pt bread or bun and it makes a great lunch!! I'm waaaaay more about quantity than quality...hehe. Another fav. snack of mine is 1cup mixed fruit and a ff yogurt (3 pt), it's very filling and satisfying. Or sometime if I have a sweet craving after lunch (afternoons are my toughest time), I'll toast up a 1pt english muffin and have sugar free jam on it(0). When I'm really craving something....I always ask myself, "Am I hungry enough to eat a can of green beans?" and if I am..... I do and the craving usually goes away. ( I buy green beans by the flat!!) or I keep Celery all cut up and handy and mindlessly munch on that....sometimes it's just the fact I need to knaw on something!! There are lots of zero pt popcycles, and if you can't find any....make your own from Crystal light....another thing I buy in bulk. No soda for this gal, so it's crystal light, water, tea or coffee....all decaf and sugar free so they all count as water intake!!!
Another awesome find that I love in the morning is Obrien potatoes with peppers and onions in them....I found a brand that you can have 1 1/2 cups for 1 pt and then you cook it in Pam(0) and have it with 3 egg whites(1) and 2 pcs of toast(1) and you have a 3 pt breakfast that you can hardly finish!!!
Well I suppose I should get back to work, will check back later!
jennie934
04-13-2005, 05:14 PM
Hi ladies,
thanks so much for the welcome and the encouragement.
Chickie, I totally agree with you on the quantity part. I can really season up some veggies so sometimes I'll have this huge plate of food that is really good and its like no point. I ussually give it a point or two just because I know it has calories just good ones. Some times, to stretch a lean cuisine or a soup, I chop up a bunch of cabbage really fine so it almost looks like noodles, then steam it with some adobo or other seasoning and add it into the meal. It makes what would not ussually fill me up into something that is really filling and taste good. But I like cabbage.
I've had a really busy day but I have done really well with my points hopefully I can hold on to this through dinner.
Good luck every one I'll check in tomorrow.

I am doing WW and I am 10 lbs away from goal. I have done everything I can to bust this plateau I am on  I eat really well so I can't do much more on that but I am committing myself to exercising more on a daily basis to see if that will do it. :crossed:

Hi Everyone,
I'm on my second week of WW and I've lost 4.6 pounds so far. I really like being able to eat whatever I want as long as I stay within my points.
I did LAWL for awhile but even though you were able to have all the food groups, I still couldn't stick with it.
But anyway, we will be going to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner one day this week. Does anyone have any points figured out for anything on their menu. I really wish they had a WW menu like Applebee's.
I have been eating a WW (smart ones) meal for dinner every night. I know it has alot of sodium but I do add alot of veggies with it. I think I need to look up the points for 4oz. of chicken just to switch things up a bit.
Well Chicks, any help would be appreciated... Thanks... :D

Well, back from weigh in today.. down another 1.2 pounds..
WW Chickie, How can you stand to watch "The Bachelor"? I'd almost rather watch wrestling. (Will not that bad maybe.) It really does help to watch tv on the treadmil. I find that talking on the phone makes the time go even faster. Please don't use the s-word around this fat chick. I refuse until I lose at least 50 pounds!
Jennie, I agree about the problems eating out. I was shocked that the best ww choice on the "Guilt Free" menu at Chilies had 400 something calories, over 10 fat grams and very little fiber. My ww leader said she just chooses a grilled chicken salad with salsa for dressing if she can't find anything else.
Sweetlilac, Sorry the honor of the oldest probably goes to me. By the way, I'm at cat lover also. I have one sweet Calico and an adorable part Siamese & part grey Tabby that weighed one pound when she appeared on my driveway one day. They both are so fat now that the vet keeps telling me to put them on a diet. I've tried, but just can't. Shouldn't that be one advantage to being an animal?
Jarden, Don't be shy about posting. To quote Nike - Just Do It!
Olive, I'm so envious that you only have 12 pounds to go. I've got about 52. Let us know when you hit goal & we'll send congrats cards!
Macy b, Seems like our recurrant (sp?) theme is starting over. Maybe we will be the "Success the Second (3rd, 4th...) Time Around Club.
Skermie, Don't ever be afraid to go to meetings. Even if you don't lose a pound, you may lose inches, or gain a friend.
Have a great day yall!

I missed some posts somehow. Whoever said they liked O'brian hash browns, have you tried the potatoe soup made with O'brian Hash Browns, vegetable broth, and two packages of fat free Pioneer country gravy mix? It can't be that good for you, but when I really want potato soup it's good and 3 points a cup. Very filling!

Well good Thursday morning to all!!!
I was up .5 lbs today, but deservingly so. While working on putting up our deck we ordered pizza hut delivery and I can't ever say no to those breads sticks...hehe. But I counted and journaled honestly and used all yesterdays activity pts and some flex points to boot, but no worries...still down for the week and official weigh in isn't until Monday morning anyway!
Thanks for the potato soup recipe....once we get into summer I don't like a lot of soup, but will have to keep that in mind for cold weather camping days.
I'm glad we've had a few more people join the group!! Welcome, welcome, welcome!!!!!
I'm feeling my lowcarb friends drifting from me....like we're no longer in the same club. When in reality we're just both trying to lose weight. Anyhoo, maybe it's just me, but she seems like she's been really distant since I revealed switching back to WW a few weeks ago. And tonight we're going out to eat together, that should be interesting. There's alot of stuff I feel guilty eating in front of her because I know she can't have it on her program and it would be stuff she'd love and want....don't know quite what to do about that.
Well I suppose, those dishes and laundry won't do themselves!!!
See ya later!!

Hi All! I've just read all your posts and I'm so excited. I too am a multi-timer with WW and a recovering Atkins dieter. This time around is really going well. I'm on my 3rd week and have lost 8 lbs so far. I'm doing WW on my own using a pda program called WWcalc. I have attended many meetings in the past and really feel like I have the "head-knowledge" I need to be successful. Unfortunately, in the past, I have played little games with my points and was never very successful. I did really well on Atkins and learned that I wasn't eating nearly enough protein, but had too many cravings. So this time, I'm eating a little differently. I used to waste my points on empty carbs and was hungry all the time. Now I plan my meals around protein and eat lots of fruits and veggies and so far, have not run out of points yet. And no hunger, yeast infections, or hypoglycemia woohoo! As for personal info...37, female, 3 kids ages 10-boy 5-girl 3-girl. Husband still annoying eating low carb!

Wow, I'm glad to know I'm not the only mulit-timer. I'm highly motivated this time though. I'm at that point in my life where I feel I'm still young enough to do lots of things, but getting older, so the weight is starting to effect my participation in things. I don't want this to be a continual theme of my life. I want to get rid of the weight now, and maintain a lifestyle where the weight is one thing I won't ever have to worry about again.
;) Everyone sounds so nice. I wish you all luck in the next few days.

jarden

Hi Macy!!! and welcome.. You can find the answer to your tracker question on this thread.. Looking forward to getting to know all of you better..
Good late evening to you all!
I have been around, now and then on this site. I'm just popping in to say thanks to all of you for being here and posting good info for the majority of us that need a little push in the right direction. I have been doing this for a long time, and only just recently have been able to have a decent weight loss. I have been yo-yoing for years, but little by little, I have dropped , as of today, 70#! I owe this all to the people on the boards I "lurk" around, and the great WW plan which allows me to eat anything I want, just not everything I want! LOL!!
I'll try to be more active here if you will allow me to join you!
Thank, you

Hi Ladies, How has the week been?
Finally its friday. Now normally, weekends are when I mess up. I have been journaling all my food all week, working out and drinking my water. I am making this promise to everyone on her, I will not blow it this weekend. My weighins are on Sunday so I really don't have any kind of time to make up a bad day if its a Friday or Saturday. I picked that meeting on purpose because I used to weighin on Thursaday and I got into the habit of pigging out on the weekends then trying to make up for it all week which didn't always work.
Have a good friday everyone.

It's funny how we all worry about the same things! Pigging out on the weekend, starting over for the 2nd, 3rd, ...time. Anyone want to play a quick game? Favorite 1-2-or 3 point snacks to get us through the weekend:
Weight Watchers Carrot or Chocolate Cake - 1 point
Weight Watchers Vannila Puffed Wheat Cereal, 1 cup with 1/2 c skim milk - 2 points
Weight Watchers Cheddar Twists - 2 points
I sound like a Weight Watchers salesman.
Baby Carrots with 2 T. Hidden Valley Ranch Fat Free Dressing - 1 point

I have 3 in the house one is a black cat female, a female tabby and a orange and white long hair male. I have 3 out side no sorry. I have two I had to put one down last night, :stress:. He was a yellow tom cat I had since his birth. He was hit by a car. He was my 5 yr old sons cat. It ws hard telling him that he wasnt coming back. :( . The other one is a back and white long hair male that the neibors found on the side of the road and brought home and forgot abt him. He now is mine. and last one in a balck cat that is male, but he little he is a year old and looks like he is 3 - 4 mths old. This mother is the same way.
U will have to give us the recipe for the soup is sound great.

Sweetlilac, So sorry about your son's cat! I only have two inside cats (and a yellow lab) However at my old house I fed all of the feral cats in the neighborhood. There were two "cat ladies" at opposite ends of the block on the same street who both did the same. We had some fat feral cats in that neighborhood. My new neighborhood has no feral cats - some times I miss them although it's a sad situation.

Hi everyone! Welcome all newcomers!
This thread is only a few days old and is getting so long. It's great! Reading your posts and knowing we're all in similar situations really helps keep me motivated. I lost my first 20lbs by coming here and joining a thread of short term goals, we'd post what we want to lose in 5 week goals and there were some really great people with lots of good advice. That's how I decided to join WW. Well, that was 6 years ago and that thread is long gone, but this one is great so far. Let's just make sure we're here when we're good and especially when we're bad, that's when we need help the most, to not give up.
I haven't been doing great so far this week, but it could be worse. I've had 35, 41, 28 point days so far, and three days of exercise, so, we'll see. I'll do better this weekend even though it's when I typically give up and say, I'll start over Monday. Well, no more! I promise to post low point days on Monday :)
I'm so sorry about your cat sweetlilac :( but that's great that you didn't turn to emotional eating. That's something I'm trying to conquer too.
BJ3 - my favorite low point snack right now is baby carrots dipped in Trader Joes fat free spicy pinto bean dip, 1pt for 1/4c. It's really filling.
I also love cut up pineapple, strawberries, or any fruit really dipped in ff light lemon yogart. The yogart just makes fruit taste so much better. Sometimes for 1 more pt. I add wheat germ which goes really well with it.
chevygirl - welcome! come join the fun. Is your name after the car or the restaurant? I could eat a weeks worth of points in one sitting at Chevy's. :dizzy:
jennie - I'm with you on that promise! I'm going to stay on program this weekend and get in lots of exercise.
Hi Carole, welcome to the group! Wow, 70lbs is awesome! Please stay and share some tips on how you've done it so far.
Hi macy, welcome to the group!
welcome davebecca! I hope you're missing the meetings because you're playing baseball and softball and not just watching them on TV ;)
And welcome Lisa! The more multis the merrier
And hello to everyone else, have a great on program day!

Hey everyone,
Sorry I'm was so MIA over the weekend....it's was nice around here so we're in the middle of many projects!! Just finishing up our new deck, and the hubby and neighbors started roofing our house over the weekend. I myself played gofer and ran errands here and there and got all my flower beds raked and dug out in between.
Well it's Monday, and y'all know what that means for me....official weigh in!!! I was down another glorious 2lbs for the week!! wooooohoooo!!! another 2 lbs gone for life!! Did a little bit of shopping over the weekend and got three new pairs of capris size16, 17,and 18! (Last years clothes were all 22's) So I'm in heaven.
Will have to catch you all later!!!

thanks for the encouragement sweetlilac, I know those one pounds add up as long as a stick with it. I've lost 13 so far but none of my clothes are feeling any loser. I think I'll have to hit the 20lb mark to start to fit back into my summer clothes from last year and have my jeans be less tight. I wish it would happen already!!! !!
chickie, 2 pound is so good.:bravo: I can't wait until I can go out and buy some smaller clothes or actually just pull the smaller ones out of my chest of drawers. I promised my self after my last go round at ww that I wouldn't allow my self to buy the next size so I had to make my self lost weight. Well 20 pound later, I was only barely squeezing into 2 pairs of jeans and the rest have been sitting in the drawer waiting till I shed those pounds. So my first goal is to get back into those summer clothes, goal 2, guy one size smaller.
Olive2, I kept my promise, I stayed with in my points and I excersied. Saturday I did pillates at home which is better than nothing right, Sunday I did a super work out at the gym, ellyptical and jogging.
How did every one else do this weekend. Hope to see every one back this week! :strong:

Has anyone ever had this prolem too: I lost weight everywhere but in my belly and hip and butt. I willl lose weight in my feet, anklesm, bust and wrist before i wil see it leave my stomach area.

I'm not weighing in until tomorrow, but am not happy with my effort over the weekend. I also got out in the yard and weeded and spring cleaned. But I had a birthday party and family dinner. I did pretty good, but ate above my points all weekend. Enough that I probably won't lose any. I don't think I'll gain either, but am disappointed in my kick-off week. I have all the materials from my previous experience with WW, so I didn't go in and official join again. I'm thinking I'm going to have to hand over my money to someone to motivate me more. Knowing I have to pay someone to weigh me keeps me honest. I think I'll give it one more week. If I don't stay OP, I'll bite the bullet.
Everyone have a great day. And to those of you who lost - great job!!

Hey there everyone,
Well it's a dreary rainy day Tuesday around here....and I was up slightly today....but just for today...it won't be for the week!! It's almost that time, so I'm feeling a little bloated....although I put on my favorite pair of shorts that I've had forever and they slid down my hips, so sadly I think I'll have to put them in the goodwill pile! Will have to find a new favorite pair, I guess.
With all this rain a pouring down, it looks like I got my hosta, and other plants transplanted in the nick of time. Was hoping to do some rollerblading this week, but doesn't look like Mother Nature is going to cooperate! Will have to stick indoors and log some milage on the elliptical instead. I find that the more my working out slows down or if I skip a few days the losing weight slows down as well no matter how well I count every point. You'd think I'd learn to just not skip...lol...but sometimes you're just a tad too tired...I know, I know....excuses, excuses!!
I'm glad our little group has grown and we have such frequent posters....I look forward each day to loggin on and seeing what's up.
I'm still refusing to go to actual meetings, although I have $40 saved in my jar from 4 weeks of WWering it at home! I've decided that each time I achieve a goal, I get to spend it! So my official goal right now is to get to 190 even....I'm teetering between 194 and 196 depending on what day I weigh....lol....so when I get to 190 it's getting spent....then I'll do the same til 180 ...etc... I'd like to be to a solid 190 by June 1st which is extremely realistic and if I get lower than that so be it...it's a win/win situation!!
Been chowing alot of fruit...can't get enough, and my afternoon binges have been replaced with a can of green beans or some celery.... I've also rediscovered Healthy Choice Soups.....you can have whole cans for anywhere from 3-5 pts depending on the kind and they're very filling!! Good with a 1pt bun turkey sand for dinner! I've done well at staying away from all the diet candies, ice cream treats and cakes.... would like to develop better habits before I start with all of that stuff again....I'd rather get the most out of my points I guess....who knows...that could change next week, but for now I'm being a good girl! lol
Camping season is soon approaching and that's always a hard time for me....around everyone else with food everywhere....smores, chips, pasta salads...etc.....arghhhh....wilpower tested to the fullest. It's already been that way in the last few weekends with neighborhood cookouts. I need to learn when I'm out with people to use as good of restraint as I do all week long at home.
Well better get going...check in later!
Take care y'all!!!

Ok, I see that you eat green beans and even though this isn't a recipe thread, I have to share. For those of you who enjoy the green beans from Chinese restaurants, you'll love this: 1 lb of frozen or fresh green beans (microwave cook and salt to taste, as directed on package). 1 T butter (sorry, you have to count it and it won't taste right if you don't use butter) 4 cloves of garlic, 3 packets of splenda or 2 T sugar. Melt the butter in a saute pan, then add garlic, beans and splenda. Stir fry for a few minutes and serve! I could eat the entire pound myself!

Well, I knew I wouldn't do great with my weigh in, I lost 1lb., which considering my weekend was good. But...I usually do much better on my first week back OP. So I am recommiting myself and doing better this week. My husband and kids are going camping for a few days (boy scouts), so I'll be alone. This will give me a chance to catch up on things, and hopefully since I won't have to cook, get a good jump start. Unless of course I call one of my friends and go out.
Thanks Sweetlilac for your encouragement. :D WE can do this.
Everyone have a great day. :grouphug:

Hi ladies,
I am having a really good week! All week I was saying I just want to see 224 and today it was even lower. I got on the scale this morning and it read 223.8!! I was so excitied, I'm not counting this because my official weigh in is on Sunday but I'm so exctied.
Last night I kind of threw a fit, I was going to eat with my parents and my dad decided to get Chinese food which is good if you pick the right things but he got pork/chick/shrimp fried rice, I dont' even want to think about the points in that, and beef w/broccoli. I have never known him to order either of those we always get veggies or chicken w/broc or something fairly healthy. I feel like he is subconsciencely trying to sabatoge my diet. He was like oh I thought it sounded good. I'm sure it does but it so many calories I probably could have had a 1/4c of each and that would be it for my points. So in my frustration, I offered to take us out to eat and they could save the chinese. So we went to Applebee's I dont' ussaully eat there but they have the WW selections so I figured I'd try. I got the talapia w/mango salsa and it was so good and very filling for only 5 points. I had enough points left to get the WW desert which though small, as it should be, it tasted very good. My meal was satisfying enought that Ididn't need to reachover and nibble on my son's!
chickie-I can't wait until I'm teatering in the 190's, I think you have set a good goal and I'm sure you'll get there.
macy-I only lost a pound last WI buy it has totally kicked me in the butt and I know I'm gonna lose more this week.
For all the rest od us trying to fit into those summer clothes(heehee youknow who you are) let do it!
have a good day and talk to you soon.

Hey y'all....good wed. morning to everyone
D56....will have to try that green bean recipe....it's funny that everyone's talking chinese food on here...lol
Macy B....1 lbs is still 1lb....any loss is better than going up!!! and they all add up! Way to go!!!
Jennie I have the same problem eating out with friends and neighbors....seems like everyone we know is overweight and doesn't give a darn...so it makes things even harder....I just try to stay focussed and remind myself that there are no "bad" foods...just have to keep my portions in check and if I'm weak, which everyone is sometimes...I dust myself off....and either start fresh or workout and earn some activity points to help balance it out!! As hard as it's been, I keep telling myself...it's not everyone else putting it in my mouth and no matter what kind of yummy thing is sitting in front of me, I'm the only one that controls it!!! It works for me about 95% of the time!! lol
I'm sick of this rainy weather and in some desperate need of some sunshine!!! Hate being trapped indoors, especially this time of year. Got the itch to get out in the garden and do some bike riding and rollerblading!!
I just recently discovered that I like that 98% fat free kettle corn....3 pts for a whole bag...and very crunchy and filling!! I don't like the plain, but the kettle corn and the caramel apple are good....the caramel apple is 5 pts a bag though!!
Well better get another load of clothes done and I hear the dishes calling my name!! Will check back later!!
Hope everyone else is doing well...can't wait to hear from ya!!

Hey there.... The kettle corn that I love is Jolly time Healthy pop....it's 94% fat free...it figures to a point per serving... 90 cal 2 fat 8 fiber, and there's 2.5 servings in a bag so I figure it at three per big bag....it's sooooo yummy. The caramel apple popcorn that I talked about is from the same company and brand and they of course also have just plain "buttered" too. Hope this helps...

Hi all!
It sounds like everyone is doing great. Lots of losses. I'll be weighing in on Fri this week. My usual meeting is Tuesday but I couldn't make that one. I think I'll see a very small loss if any. I didn't do well over the weekend like I had planned, but so far so good this week.
I'm going to make a mini goal for myself, I usually do better when I set those. I'd like to lose 5lbs by May 6th. I want to step on that WW scale and see 144. We are going on a weekend trip to San Jose CA that weekend for my Granny-in-Law's 90th Birthday and I want something in my closet to fit! I threw out almost all my big clothes and now what I have is tight and unflattering, just 5lbs and most will fit again.
That green bean recipe sounds really good. I bought some green beans yesterday so I'll think I'll make it tomorrow. I checked a couple of cookbooks out of the library last weekend and one looks really great - it's called Almost From Scratch and has recipes using ready-made sauces and pestos, and food you find at Trader Joes so they're quick but better than the stuff you make with Campbells soups.
Keep up the good work everyone

I'll have to try that kettle corn. I love kettle corn. The fresh kind they sell at festivals and what not omg, it is so good. I have to steer clear or I will eat the whole bag. But the microwave one for 3 points sounds good. I'm gonna look fot it next time I shop. Along with the green beans. I love fresh green beans. yummmm. Another good idea is if you toss garlic on aspargus, and then roast it in the oven. its tasty and so easy.
I didn't get a chance to excersise today. Thurday is my long day at work and I just couldn't get motivated to go to the gym on my break. I will tomorrow, in the AM.
I am doing well counting my point and journaling. Even though I dont' feel the workout excitiment, I'm trying to stay optamistic.

As usual my Wal-mart does not carry the kettlecorn. We have this tiny little crowded Wal-mart in the middle of a very large D.C.-Baltimore suburb. I avoid it at all costs, but actually made the trip this morning, only to be disappointed...poor me. Anyway, I have finally decided on a goal for myself. When I hit the 50lbs lost mark, I'm getting the little tattoo I have wanted forever, right on the small of my back. The only reason I haven't gotten it before is that it would look ridiculous on my big a**. At this point, wouldn't want to draw any more attention to my oversized derrier. Please keep up this thread, it's been so encouraging for me to have this little group to chat with.

Hi everyone, I had an awfull night last night. I did really well all day, I worked out in the am, had soup for lunch and an apple, really good. But I let my self get to hungry and get swayed into something I am not quite ready for. Ussually on friday after my son's baseball practie, we go out to eat. His favorite is Chinese, chicken with Brocolli. We ussally just share the one dish so its not that much. I still get bloated but I can't really over eat since he eats a lot of the food. Well a friend wanted to come along and so she ordered more food and I couldn't stop. I ate so much more than I should have. None of it was fried or anything, it was mostly veggies but, I feel so gross today and when I got on the scale, I was up 3 pounds. Its got to be water weight. today I am going to flush my system with as much water and as much heath food as I can. I worked so hard all week and my weigh in is tomorrow and now the dang sodium in a chinesse food binge took me over the edge:mad: I did eat way more than I should have sodium or not. I wish I had that power to fill my plate once and eat just that. ahhhh....I will report back after the weigh in. I hope its OK.
d56- I avoid Wallmart at all cost too. If I find that popcorn anywhere else, I'll let you know. I'm on a mission.

Hi Chickie...
Your story is very similiar to mine. I lost over 15 lbs doing South beach diet. However, I couldnt deal with the whole restrictions. I would do great then have to go back to not eating bread and cereal. Eventually i stopped and gained everything that i lost back. So Im in the same boat you are.
I recently started WW and looking forward to losing that stubborn weight.
Hope to hear from you.

Haven't been around much, but weighed in today and lost 1 lb., :D just like Sweetlilac. We just got back from spring break, and going back to work has been a bummer. (I work in a Junior High School.) I haven't slept well (spring allergies), so motivating myself to work out hasn't been happening. I did get up and work out for the first time in a week today. Sounds like everyone else is still doing good, and being committed. Hopefully, now that I'm getting back into a routine I'll do better. ;)

Hi Ladies,
I know, what happened, its like every one deserted. I know I have been sooo busy lately I havn't even been checking email or anything. I squeezed in work outs so I am feeling better but still kind of bloated and gross. I don't know that I will lose this week but we'll see.
Sweetlilac, I hear a lot about walk away the pounds. do you walk in place or do you do other things? I ussally do the ellyptical or the treadmill at the gym. I used to go to kickboxing but I can't fit it in so now I'm stuck doing tapes and stuff at home.....
Macy and Jarden, good loss, any loss is a good loss right! keep it up.
Hope you are all doing well keep me posted.

This week has been soooooooooo long. I have had so much to do, I haven't had time to check my mail or anything else. But it's the weekend and I'm glad. We went out twice this week for lunch at work. That never happens, but ... We went Chinese once and those :nono: cheese cream wontons called my name and I answered. I'm going to have to be really good this weekend or come Tuesday weigh-in those wontons will have me singing the blues. Everyone have a great weekend, but by the look of this forum everyone is already gone.... :smug:

Hi girls,
I just found you guys and thought I join you. I had been a member of Weight Watchers at least a million times in my life  . I just joined a little over a week ago and I have 6.6 lbs gone so far. I need to weigh in again Tuesday coming. I hope it's down again. Been following the program to the T and drinking my water and exercising so I'll see how it goes then. I'll let you know on Tuesday.

I've been doing pretty well after a few weeks of maintaining and some gains. Last week I lost 1.4 and the week before I lost 1.6. I got that Denise Austin DVD on Boosting Metabolism and using Kathy Smith's Lift Weights to Lose Weights. Things are starting to look up for me. Thank goodness. Good luck with everyone else!! :D

I blew this weekend, again!! I'll do good today, but I'm afraid it's going to take actually going in and paying someone to weigh me to keep me honest. I was hoping to succeed on my own, but after 3 weeks, I'm not getting the job done. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Hi WW chickie and all!
I would like to join, too! Wow, it sure helps to have encouragement, hey?
I've been in WW 5 weeks, and gone down 9.4 ! :cp:
Went down 3.4 at WI last night...just 0.6 short of my 10-pound ribbon.
I go with my hubby, he actually convinced me we should do this. He's lost more than me though. Our leader says that men are almost always more successful at this than women. NO FAIR. Guess they don't crave chocolate as much.

Okay, I am inviting myself into your group!! i love ready everyones posts and just had to become part of the group myself. Ya'll can either introduce yourself or I will just stick my nose in and find out about you! :D
This is my third time on program and I really feel like I am going to do it this time. I am on my 6th week.
Here is my question: Do you guys do meetings, at home, online or just on your own? Seems like a lot of people on this site just have the materials and are doing it on their own. Just curious.....I do the meetings........

Hey all. I finally broke down and joined again. Working the program on my own wasn't working, so I went in and paid the money :barf: and will start going to meetings. I also wanted to find out about their core plan. Not sure it's for me. I like the options of eating anything and counting the points. I have been really good since Wednesday when I joined. I'm looking forward to weighing in next week, and after Mother's Day, and seeing a difference. Welcome Sherry and Allie, hope everyone else comes back and let us know how it's going.

Did everyone have a good Mother's Day? Did you stay on program? I sorta did. Ofcourse, if I wasn't even attempting WW I would have consumed enough calories for 3 people. I did turn down cherry pie with BREYERS vanilla ice cream (my favorite) for a jello dessert. So good for me!

Congratulations Sherry on picking Jell-o! I bet you never thought that someone would congratulate you on "choosing Jell-o". But it's amazing how winning all the little, seemingly insignificant battles adds up to winning the war! Keep it up! :cheer:
I spent my Mother's Day going bird-watching. My mom and dad went to visit my mom's parents (far away from me), so I couldn't see her. I have no idea how many AP's I got for bird-watching...I was on my feet on all sorts of trails for about 6 hours, but it's pretty low intensity. Walk a bit, stand and look at a bird, walk a bit, look at another bird...etc. So I didn't count AP's, but I ate a burger and only counted it for five points as a trade-off. I think I'm doing o.k. this week anyway. :burger:
