I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong area, but I am looking for some advice. My wife has lost almost 100lbs and I want to do something special for her to mark the occasion. By my calculations she will hit the 100lb mark before the end of the week, and I am all out of ideas. Do any of you have a great one? The best idea I have had so far was to have 100 roses delivered to her at work, but that is mighty expensive. I would love to say that money is no object but I have to be realistic. $200 or less is all I am able to afford for this occasion.
First of all let me just say that your wife has made an amazing accomplishment and that I think it is terrific that you are reaching out to think of something amazing to reward her with.
I can think of something that would cost too much money, if it is possible for you to get out of work for a day without her knowing.
You could clean the house, do laundry and dishes, so there is nothing she needs too do. Get just enough flowers to make a petal trail to the bathroom. In the bathroom, set up aroma therapy candles and draw her a bubble bath. After the bath, give her a message with a calming oil. Make or order a healthy dinner for the two of you. If you have children, get a babysitter. Rent her favorite movie or if she's not the movie type, take her dancing or something like that. Just make sure that she doesn't open her own door or pour her own drink or anything all night.
Tell her that you know how hard she's work to get to where she is and that tonight is her night off, she's not going to do anything but be pampered like the queen she is in your heart.
I'm a total sap and I would just cry if my guy did that for me.
It is memorable and not expensive, but very touching.
Thanks guys. Tiki, I did think of the Spa visit but the problem was the cost and the location. I am in Amish country PA and the nearest Spa to me would be several hours away.
JEO1982, Thats not a bad idea at all. I may just do something like that. I have to figure out how to pull it all off with this weekend being a Holiday weekend, (family Bar-B-Q's ect)and my Son's birthday to boot! Thanks.
That is an excellent idea. I actually had a guy do that for me once and...oh, that was a dream. My bad.
Ruckus, have fun and congrats on your new woman! She has accomplished MUCH and is very lucky to have a man like you that appreciates all her hard work.
Yeah, are there classes that you could teach for those of us with less than... aware husbands??
Another idea is a shopping spree to get some new clothes? I know I would like that. The pampering is a great idea too. And even a gift certificate for a massage would be appreciated...
Thank all of you! You ladies are too kind! I’m sure that there are even sweeter guys out there than I, but in today’s day and age it is hard to find a truly caring person of any kind whether they be man or woman, gay or straight. My wife and I consider ourselves to be very lucky. She understands that I loved her when she was 200lbs, when she was 340lbs, and now that she is 240lbs. That number has never meant anything to me and it still doesn’t. I don’t care if she looses another pound. I have enjoyed her beauty the entire time. I only want to do this because she has worked so hard and yet she doesn’t fully realize how much she has accomplished already.
Due to my overactive weekend I may just have to opt for the shopping trip. She doesn’t spend money on herself, and now I think I can convince her that it is time she did. Do you have any recommendations to which stores have a larger selection of plus sizes? I’m sure some of you can understand that it is very frustrating to go to places that consider a plus size to be a 12.
I would have to say that Lane Bryant has the best selection, and they only sell sizes 14 and over... 12 is not a plus size, and they know it. Best of all you don't have a little tiny size 2 selling you clothes!
