Good Morning! I thought I'd start joining you guys for the food logging, if you don't mind.

7:00am 1 egg and 1 sausage (2)

10:30am cucumber slices (2)

12:00pm Spinich salad w/cuc., and tomato (6)

3:00pm Seeds (2)

6:00pm Pork Chops, and salad (6)

8:00pm String Cheese (1)

Total: 19

Wow, I just realized what a good tool this is. When I originally started to figure this I was around 28 carbs. Which could be why I haven't been losing much weight. So, I re-organized the day. I'll try to get lower on the carbs tomorrow and see if that helps.

Have a great day!

Me again. I just have to add... I am feeling SO INSPIRED! Now that I realize "counting/estimating in my head" may not be what my actual count is for the day, I know I can lose more! I'm having one of those a-ha moments. Seems so simple really. I almost feel dumb, but the inspired feeling is outweighing it (thank goodness!)

That's what I thought too, but the swiss cheese package said 0. What do you think? Is it really like .4 and they chose to round down?

StarPrincess
05-04-2004, 03:02 PM
If it's under 1, they're allowed to say zero. I think swiss is really like .8 per ounce.

 Grrr about the cheese. I'll round to 1 from now on. I was actually looking at packages to see which ones had one and which ones had zero. Oh well, better safe than sorry anyway!

Thanks for the input. I like that we have a forum where these tricky little things can be caught.

Good Morning T.G.! My son is 6. Very cute and sweet, but I'm sure I'm biased.

T.G. and Star: I was looking at the calendar last night, after I posted and noticed that next Saturday is the 15th - which happens to be my birthday. So, I can't do next Saturday if you guys are still up for a get together. The following weekend I'm out of town on a girls getaway to Seattle, but the following weekend I could work something out. It's the weekend of the 28th. I know that's really far away and all. Just let me know what you guys think!

Brenda - My advice is to lighten up on the saturated. That's a lot of sausage in there! Add more veggies to even you out and maybe exchange some of the sausage for a leaner meat.

I know that fat is our friend, but the kind of fat and amount matters. Remember, ketosis only means you're burning fat. It does not discriminate where that fat comes from.

By no means should you try doing 'low fat', but you should try having a variety of fats. Nuts, olive oil, fish, chicken, etc.

Make sense?

Sorry. I messed up. It was lunch meat, not sausage. Probably not a whole lot better fat wise. I had chicken for supper. I usually don't eat that much sausage. I'll cut down on the breakfast sausage also. Maybe trim down the eggs? And cut down portion sizes for supper. Maybe that would help.
