Hey, the autumnal equinox is on September 22! We should totally do a challenge for that.

This challenge has weekly check-ins, although that's just for your benefit. You won't lose points or anything for missing check-ins. You can join the challenge at any time. Your goal can be anything related to your personal health or fitness - it doesn't have to be weight loss. You can check in on whatever day works for you. You can use the template provided below, but you're not obligated to. Everyone is welcome to join. :)

Count me in. I started my new health plan on the summer soltice so seems like a first time goal of the equinox is perfect. I'm doing a 100 day challenge, ends on oct.13th, but this is the first one I'll add a weightloss goal. I'll keep it at a reasonable 1 & 1/2 pds a week or 17 pds. I can do that!

I weigh in on Saturdays.

I don't know if I qualify for the 100-lb club, as I've poked around and not yet really figured out what the necessary qualifications are, but I'm slowly coming to the realization that I'm a challenge junky. That being said, I would very much like to participate.

Starting Weight: 174.4 lbs
Goal Weight: 160 lbs (also my goal for the Halloween challenge, but the sooner the better :D)

7/13: 173.9 lbs
7/20: 171.1 lbs
7/27: 167.3 lbs (Been feeling awful all week thanks to TOM...good to see that pushing through the pain is paying off some :D)
8/3: 162.0 lbs
8/10: 162.3 lbs D:

FIL seems to be much better. A lot of his tests came back borderline, but he seems to be retaining fluids since they added another diuretic but its summer so everyone is pushing fluids so no one gets dehydrated. We'll have to wait for the rest of the tests.

Speaking of retaining fluids I'm down 1.6lbs overnight!

Hi Ginger! Keep up the good work! Lovely, cool fall days are coming when you can spend long hours in your beloved garden.

Penguin, I love your quotations, especially "The beauty of every exercise is that it does come to an end...eventually!" ~ Miranda Esmonde-White

I've just started doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, and the best thing about it is that it's over in 20 minutes! There are 3 sets of repetitions, and if I can ever get past the first one, I feel like I'm on the downhill run -- There's only one more set after the second one! ha! Funny how your mind can play tricks on you.

The first day was really hard, and I hurt like heck for the next two days, but it's getting better. I've been telling myself for weeks, "Exercise is only painful for a little while, then you'll get stronger." The fear of the pain kept me from starting for SO long, but, as I knew it would, it gets better every day.

Keep your eyes on the PUMPKIN, girls! We'll be rockin' that flannel come September!

FIL got the rest of the test results. He has congestive heart failure. They are putting him on another diuretic and something else, but we get the feeling that there's not much they can do, especially considering his after-stroke condition. He is home from the hospital at least. More news after we've had a chance to talk to MIL again.

My parents took a short trip up to St Louis over the weekend, they came back to find the new downstairs AC has stopped working while they were gone. So they are trying to get the company to come fix it SOON!

Then my Sis emailed Dad a picture of their backyard. A sewer pipe broke and they had to have it fixed, incliding the yard dug up etc. $6,000! Ack!

Other than the above we had a nice weekend just hanging out with each other.

Congrats! I had my whoosh last week and haven't had a scale all week because of a dead battery. I stepped on once I got a new one today (admittedly a HORRIBLE idea given that it was right after dinner) and wasn't pleased with what I saw. I just finished a second workout (well, second time doing the video...I had bike riding and lap swimming between the two) and I'm going to be sure to take a nice long bike ride before bed tonight. Fingers crossed that the scale decides to be nicer tomorrow morning.

How's everybody doing?

I think I managed my trip pretty well, and I'm happy with what I weighed in at on Friday.

Hi Y'all!

I'm not due for my weigh in till sat., but am droping by because the thread helped me get where I am today. I'm 2 mo. into a new healthy eating plan without a sinle 'cheat" or mishap. I've lost 25 pds as of last Sat. And :) I WENT INTO THE GARDEN TODAY!!:D I took my Penny out to play in garden for first time in over a year. I sat and dreamed of being able to repair and replant my front side walk this Fall. My main reason for new health plan is to be able to garden again. I'm a gardening addict. If you don't believe me check out my garden acre at (www.gingersflowergarden.com) When (not if) I meet this first goal of Fall equinox - 3 mo. OP I'm rewarding myself with Fall flowers and Daffodils for my front garden bed. It's been 3 yrs since I've planted anything.

Hi healthyginger! Congratulations on your weight loss and on being able to get out into your garden with your cute puppy! :carrot::carrot:

Keep us updated!

Hi Ginger! Congrats on the big loss! And I know how happy you are to get out in the garden again. What a good idea to buy daffodils for a reward -- how exciting to see them bloom in the spring when you're that far along to your NEXT goal! I'm going to have to think about that for one of my rewards.

Wow...slow month is slow. On the plus side, I'm less than a pound from my challenge goal, but I had such a good head of steam worked up at the beginning and now it looks like it's trickled off. *Sigh* Hopefully things will get better once I'm back at work.

You've lost a lot in the past couple months, Hotaruchan! :carrot: Maybe your body just needs some time to adjust.

I've been doing pretty well, but TOM is coming up.

How are all of the other Autumnal Equinox Challenge chicks doing? I know some of you are plugging away (whether or not you see any movement toward your goals), but some people haven't been active on here in a while. I hope you're all doing okay. Feel free to check in with us, even if you haven't made the progress you'd hoped to or you've fallen off the weight loss wagon. That's how life goes, sometimes.

Hi Y'all! I'm still here. It's my TOM, so I'm just hanging in there...going up and staying the same. I'll pray for a woosh eventually -- seems like that's the way it happens for me.
September is almost here! I need to ramp it up so I can meet my 20 lb. goal!

Hey chicks, how are we doing?!

Only 2 weeks left! :carrot:

Kitcherella - welcome back from your vacation!

Anybody up for another challenge when this one's done? I'm thinking THE HOBBIT might make a good theme for a challenge.

I'd be up for another challenge! Should we celebrate the end of this one? Maybe we could all buy plump pumpkins to symbolize our "un-plumpness"? ha!

I don't think I will have lost 25 pounds, but I will be darn close! Pounds lost are pounds lost!! :p

Finish strong y'all!! :carrot:

It looks like I 'm going to come pretty close to my goal. I'd much rather blow it out of the water than be borderline but I'm having a terrible time wanting to give up my comfy carb security blanket right now while things are so stressful in my life.

HI! I usually just check in on 1st page to put in weight-but had to post again how proud I am. This week I lost 4 pds. Still amazed, considering due to hurricane issues - my water and exercise was way off and I went to the upper limits (1,450) of my calorie limit daily. :?: Any way so :carrot: I reached my weighloss goal of 17 pds and passed it by 2 pds. 19 pds since Summer Soltice. This was my first Challenge and am so happy to see myself succeed.:carrot:

I hope I will be in onederland but this week sucks, I had minor surgery and I can't exersice.

:congrat: healthyginger

Hey Kitcherella - I hope you're healing up well from your surgery.

I hope everybody is doing well, whether you're losing weight or not. Thanks for participating in this challenge! It would be pretty cool if you chicks would post your final outcomes for this challenge next week, along with whatever thoughts you want to share. If you want - no pressure.

Here's a link to THE HOBBIT Challenge (http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/100-lb-club/266251-hobbit-challenge.html) - I hope to see you chicks over there!

HI! Glad to report another 2 pds down. Feel better Kitchella! I'm on another challenge where I wanted to get to onederland by New Years-but have now decided that was way unrealistic-seeing where I'd have to loose 3 pds a week. I was high off loosing 3 pds a wk 3 wks in a row-but have since learned my lesson. On another thread a lady vows to just always be loosing- even if in fractions. I like that one-less pressure and disappointment.

:dancer::carrot: Happy Equenox All!! I came down another pd this week. That makes 22 for this challenge (my goal was 17) but 35 pd since I began my new healthy lifestyle on The Summer Soltice 3 months ago :D I love doing this at 3 month intervals on the soltices and Equenox. This time I challenge myself to stay on my program both physical and spiritually to show that each Sat. When I weigh in I'm on a downward trajectory. Loved this- see Y'all on the boards.

Congrats on your 15 lbs AwShucks! Healthyginger, you go girl! That's amazing! I'm really happy I met my goal. This challenge was really helpful for me since my drastic weight loss really tapered off right as I was starting this one. It's helped me see that I've still made progress even if it's slower and even though I made goal by the skin of my teeth. ;) Thanks for the support!
