DEBBIE.......HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you find a stove you like and can agree on it. That is what I'm going to ask for for Christmas. I want a stainless with a smooth top. I hope you have a wonderful day filled with joy and love.
Well, we managed to slide into work this morning. However, I just heard on the radio that the road to our house has been closed. Sooooooo, we will probably leave here about the middle of the afternoon and park at my BIL's house. Then we will have to walk about a mile through the woods to get to our house. I only wore tennis shoes this morning which will never work to hike up the mountain. But, guess what.......I OWN A BOOT STORE!LOL
I think I can find something on the shelf to keep me dry on the hike home. I am NOT looking forward to it. I'm so out of shape, hubby will probably have to drag me up the mountain. So, if you don't hear from me in a few days, send out a search party!!!!:lol
I hope you all have a wonderful, happy, OP day!!!!
Love ya,

Hey there all!! I know, I know.... I am so bad. I just can't seem to get into the habit of posting.
I did want to at least post today and tell Debbie: :hb:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRL!!!! :grouphug: I miss you!!! Hope you have a wonderful day. It has to be better than mine was. It was on my birthday that I fell and broke this darn leg!
I do miss you all... I don't know why I can't seem to get on here and post.
Please feel free to email me any time ladies because I do check those daily. I just can't seem to get on the computer at night after I have been on one all day long at work.
My leg/ankle is still on the mend. I am still in a boot cast for one more week. I can drive some now without having someone else take me everywhere, so that is good. With all the snow and ice around here these days, I am still pretty leary of walking around outside too much though. I am turning into a big chicken where ice is concerned.
Well, just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.
Please take care and drop me a line if I get forgetful again about not posting. Someone has to keep me in line!!!
Love you all!! :grouphug:

Happy Birthday, Debbie. I'd love to head over to Tunica sometime again, perhaps my next trip to Tennessee. Maybe Jennelle could meet us. How about you, Ramona? How close are you? Anyone else??
What is this about snow again? Here we are getting COLD COLD COLD. I keep watching the weather forecast, as there is a possibility I will be making a trip to southern Illinois.

Thank You everyone for all my birthday wishes. You are the greatest!!!
Today has been so nice with the snow and not having to work. At the end of May, I hope I am still thinking about how nice it was not to work on my birthday. Nothing wild planned for tonight, just the kids and grands coming up for a quiet dinner. I'll wait and do my wild thing this weekend when Sherry, Wayne and us go out. :D :dancer:
BTW...Glad my birthday even brought Carol out to post. !!
Got to run and pull myself together. Hope a quick shower and a little makeup helps me not feel so old.
Have a wonderful day Debbie! I hope this will be one of your best birthdays. It is nice that you had the day off from work.

Sorry that I haven't had time to post of each one of you. I have been stressed out over Desiree's situation. She has not been able to sleep much. I brought her to the doctors this afternoon for a different perscription for sleeping pills. He wants to put her on antidepressents again but she does not want to take them. We will be going back next week to see how she is doing. She is off to see the psychologist right now. Her mood can swing so quickly that I don't know what to expect from her from one moment to the next.
Well I got to get to making dinner. Hope you all have a good day.

Hi everybody!
Happy Birthday, DEBBIE!! :hb:
Dee--I'm so sorry to hear about what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Well here I am almost through day 2 of Atkins. I have finally gotten myself on a program. I read through most of the book over the weekend, went to the market to stock up on half&half, butter, cream cheese, protein, jello, etc. Kind of an unusual shopping list for a diet. My dh found the ketosis sticks for me yesterday, so I will check tomorrow to see if it is purple.
I definitely feel kind of weird (light headed, queasy stomach) because I have given up all my vices in one fell swoop--caffeine, sugar, breads, alcohol, pasta, etc., etc. I'm hoping that the no caffeine head ache goes away by tomorrow.
DH has been very supportive. He is drinking decaf with me in the morning and asking me what he can do to help.
So that's the word. My plan is to see how I feel after a week and then go from there. I'll keep you posted.
Take care Floozies!

Dee...how old is Dez? I'm thinking that if she's under 18, whether or not she takes medication prescribed by a doctor shouldn't be her choice to make.

Jennelle-I'm dying to know if you have lost any inches yet. Have you measured? I know how hard and committed you have to be to BFL to get results. You are doing great. I've been keeping up with the posting over at that thread. I used to post there constantly.
Dee-See my answer to your challenge. I think I will set my goal to 100 for March, since I will be on Spring Break for a week. Give Dez a hug for me, and I continue to keep you in my prayers.
Debbie-I'm so proud of you for going back to Curves this week!! You are doing great. I hope you had a wonderful birthday.
Maui-Good luck on Atkins. I've tried that too, but I just couldn't stay away from my carbs!! Some people love it though. I'm sure you'll do great. Just take it 1 day at a time!!
Carol-I agree with Sherry!! Just pop in to let us know that you're still alive and kickin'!!

Howdy girls!!!!
Deb: I hope you had a great birthday!!!!!!! Did hubby surprise you with the stove??
Jeanne: Good luck on your plan!!!! I am starting Protein power, have you heard of it? From what I gather, it is not as restrictive as Adkins, plus you still get coffee!!!! Click on the 3FC, and go to low carb diet guide if you are interested in learning more. BTW: How many carbs do you get a day?
Shelley: I am packing up some of this snow and sending your way!
Sher: I vote for Joshua too!!!! If Corey is the one with funkey hair...then he also got my vote! Simon was full of comments last night wasn't he? My opinion, but I thought a few of the singers spoke pretty harsh towards him. After all, without him, they would not have the opportunity to be there....
Dee: I second what Jennelle said. You are the mother, and you should be able to know what is in your childs best interest. If the meds will help, then Dez needs to take them, regardless if she wants to or not. I use to work with a young group of people that needed medicated, I would stand and hand out meds one by one and even go as far as to have them open their mouth after each dose to make sure it was swallowed. One young gent was notorious for stashing the pills then crushing and snorting!!!
Ramona: Did you make it home???? Ready for spring???
Titan Dee: Sorry, I probably can't make it to Tunica.....stuck out here in Kansas!
I am on day 2 of my new goal: To be "FIT & FORTY" by my birthday in May!!!!! Wish me luck!

aaagggghhh!!! Shelley....I'm doing okay, I guess, considering anything BFL-related has fallen by the wayside for the past two weeks. I'm really having trouble finding my motivation again, and I'm not sure why. I don't like being fat, but I must not want to be thin very badly.
With that said, I still have lost two inches off my waist.

Gayle, if Nashville doesn't quit getting snow or snow predicted, Debbie & Sherry will be going back to school for the fall before they get out of this year. I'm not sure if they had school today or not. I just clicked onto a live scene from Nashville and it looks awful though I can't tell if there is snow on the highway or not. It's too cloudy to see much.

Jennelle-2 inches off your waist is terrific!! Like I said before, BFL is very slow, but it will start showing all at once. What do you do for your aerobic days?
Gayle-You will be fit and forty, and you know it!!! I tried Protein Power a few years ago. I have that book lying around here too, among all my diet books!! Isn't it amazing how many diet books you can gather over the years? I even have the very first WW book by Jean Neiditch. Of course, that is probably way before your time, since I am soooo much older than you!!
Hope everyone's snow is melting and go bye bye!!

Hey Shelley, you might be older, but you are soooooo much more physically fit then I am!!! I can hardly run a block...let alone the miles you put in!!!!! Whats your input on the protein power program???
Starting day 3!!!!!!!!!! Longest I've had in a while trying to stay OP!!! Honestly, I am not hungry and as of this point, I am not missing the carbs. But I am sure the next time I smell a loaf of bread, I will have drool down to my knees!
Titan Dee: While we are all enjoying the Summer break, Deb & Sher will be making up snow days!!!! It snows so much here, that we have not even begun to use all of our snow days alotted for the year. Did you get the furniture put together?
Jennelle: GREAT JOB ON THE 2" OFF OF THE WAIST!!!!!!! Did the scales show a weight loss too? You will get your motivation back, we all derail......
Well, to all my other Floozie friends: Please try to find time to post a quick message about how lifes treating you, we care!!!!

Sherry.... Hope you are feeling better. Rest up, remember we have a date this weekend..Party!!!! :dancer:
Jeanne.... How is the Adkins going? What day are you on now? Try to stay on it until you lose all the weight you want to. I speach from experience, it's hard to get back on after you quit for awhile.
Gayle.... What is the difference between Adkins and Protein Power? Maybe it would work better for me, no luck with Adkins these days. :( After about 3 days, I'm ready to eat everything in sight. :( Help!!!!!
Shelley... How do you stay motivated to excerise? I love going to Curves and feel so good after I work out but having a hard time putting excerise and diet together.
Dee...titan fan.... I'm done with the snow!!! I love summertime too much, to extend the school year any.
Got to run for now, I'll try to post to everyone tomorrow night.

Debbie-Lately what keeps me motivated is being able to fit in my older clothes. Also, I don't think I would have gone as many miles as I had if I wasn't on the 25 mile a week challenge on the WW board, and trying to keep up with Dee!!! I have now been journaling for almost a week---that definitely helps with the eating part!! I am eating more points than I should be, but I'm sure it would be more if I wasn't accounting for everything that I am eating during the day.
Gayle-I really wasn't on the diet long enough to be able to tell you anything. I just can't do the no carb thing.
Dee-How is Desiree today?? I hope she is doing better. You know you have to take this 1 day at a time!!

I wish that I could address everyone but my energy is getting sucked out due to the stress Dez is creating.
Sherry you promised that you would go to the doctors tomorrow if you weren't any better, Remember?
Just when I thought things couldn't get worse they did. I found out Desiree was smoking pot last week. She told me about it and that she was trying to stop. Well today I found her stash and it was bagged 25 ways. I am about to have a chat with her when she gets home from work. I believe that she was dealing. Oh boy, I wonder why I ever had children. I wish at this point of my life that I wouldn't have. The only good thing I can say it is wise that we stopped at two. They are both dissappointments. If Dez can sell drugs and she is a good kid I wonder what the kids I consider bad are capable of doing? I will give her the benifit of the doubt this time because she told me about the pot she was smoking and trying to quit for the last week and a half. If it wasn't for that, the police would have been waiting here for her after school. We will see what will happen tonight. Talk about stress.
It has just become to much to cope with these kids.

Hey Ya'll........
Just on here long enough to say hello and to tell you that I'm taking off tomorrow to go to the Dr!!
I'm so sick :( My throat hurts, eyes watering, nose runnning, sneezing & a dry hacking cough that's getting worse! My back is feeling a lot better but I'm going to have it checked out too.
I'm sure Wayne is sick of listening to me complain about feeling awful. Reckon he wants to trade me in on a NEWER model!??

{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} Go out to you, Dee. I am so sorry that your kids are behaving the way they are. I am sure you and Larry are wonderful parents, so don't start blaming yourselves for the actions that your kids take. Maybe part of Dez's depression could be due to the pot? Let us know how life is treating you when you have a free minute. Also, remember when things get to tough, shut your eyes, breath in deep and remember your friends here who care about you.
Deb: If you go up to the 3FC marking and click on it, it will take you to diet plans. Click on low carb and you will find protein power along with several others. The plan helps anyone with blood sugar, high blood pressure plus other medical issues. The book says to stay at around 30-35 carbs per day to lose, then I believe 55 to maintain. You are not to watch calories or fat. What's weird, I've been keeping a list going and at the end of the night, my calories are right inline as if I was eating a low fat diet. The fat count scares me, seems high, but they all say disregard it. So far I am not having any cravings and I feel content compared to the hungry feeling all of the time that I have living on low fat/fat free items and salad.
Sher bear: {{{{{{{{{{YIPPPEEEE}}}}}}} FINALLY!!!!! Glad to hear that you decided to go to the Doc!!!! Make SURE to mention the back even if it is feeling better!!! I might just call the ol' doc myself!!!! I hope your feeling better today! {{{{GET WELL HUGS}}}}

Hi all!
Dee, I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through with your family. My sister went through a very difficult situation with her son 2 years ago (he is now 19)--drugs, alcohol, suicidal girlfriend, ditching school, trouble with authorities, violent behavior at home, and he ended up going to a residential treatment center. My sister also had a lot of the feelings that you are experiencing. She is a big fan of al-anon. This program really helped her get through some difficult times. I think you need to deal with what you are going through so you can help your family too. I'm happy to say that my nephew is doing well now and is clean and sober. One day at a time.
Sherry, glad to hear you are going to the doctor. I hope you kick this thing soon!
Gayle, Sounds like you and I are neck and neck on the low carb plan.
I've just completed day 4 on Atkins and am feeling so much better. My keto sticks are getting darker (I'm burning FAT!), my caffeine headaches have gone away, and I am not hungry. Of course, I'm obsessed with this whole thing...it's hard for me not to think of anything else. I'm looking forward to having this feel more natural. I'm in the induction phase of Atkins which is basically the first 2 weeks of the program and only 20 grams of carbs per day. So I'm eating eggs and bacon or an omelette for breakfast, a chicken or tuna salad for lunch, and meat and vegetables for dinner. I've tried the Atkins shake and protein bars--not the best tasting but they certainly fill me up.
Have a flooziriffic day!

Jeanne, PP says to stay in the 30-35 carb range to lose. I decided to go a little lower. I have been staying in the 20 carb range also. I'm having a hard time realizing that fat can be a friend! Although, I still choose lean cuts and weigh everything, it is still nice not to live just on a head of lettuce! My headaches are gone and I'm starting to feel better. So far, I have not had to much of a hunger issue, if so, I just grab a sm. handful of peanuts or a slice of cheese. If your interested, I can give you a site address that has several low carb recipes.
Starting day four girls!!!! Did I just say four!!!! OMG!!!!! I'm actually staying OP!!!!!!
To all of my Floozies with problems, remember even though we have not met, you have a friend thinking of you today!

Dee, all I can say is I know Exactly what you are going through. All the signs were right in front of me, I just wasn't willing to see them. I finally had to face reality when I found a marijuana pipe in his pants pocket while doing the laundry. He finally admitted he had everything in my house including cocaine and yes, he was dealing. From all indications, that part of his life is over. Now we have to deal with the alcohol. If there is any way at all, please get Dez into a treatment program. I don't mean to be a downer, but they will lie to you while looking you straight in the eye. The drug just takes over and changes them completely. They get lazy, they steal, they lie......I always think that if we had gotten help early on, things may have turned out differently. I don't mean to be negative, I just want you to be able to stop this before it gets to the point of no return. You are angry and hurt and confused. You never thought your kids would betray you the way they have. DO NOT BLAME YOURSELF!!!! I is not your fault. It isn't anything you did or didn't do. I've been down that road and played the blame game. It will eat at you until it makes you sick if you let it. DON'T LET IT! You must take care of yourself and stay healthy. I know this sounds very preachy, but it is coming from my heart because I know the pain you are feeling. If anything I said has hurt you, I'm sorry. I just want you to be able to get help and be happy again. Since she is underage, you have the right to get treatment for her. Perhaps her therapist could speak with her about this. OK, I'll hush now. Please know I'm thinking of you......always.
Sher, let us know what the Doc says. I hope you will feel like celebrating with Debbie tomorrow night.

Gayle, while Sherry and Debbie are making up snow days, we will find better things to do. I just may sit in my family room on my new furniture with a glass of flavored water or ice tea. How about you? Instead of having to put the furniture together, I had to haul it in. On the way, I found something I liked better and ended up getting a glider, chair, 2 small tables, and a baker's rack. Except for the chair, they each have their own story, and I'm not done yet. I want to see if I get glass tops for the tables.
Ramona: have you been to Tunica? I was there one day last year, and went to every casino (not much gambling time). I also went shopping.
Debbie: Hope you're right about being done with snow. There is still some in our forecast for tonight, but I'm ignoring it. I guess St. Louis got some yesterday afternoon but apparently the roads are clear.
Sherry: Get well soon. I'm still planning to be in Nashville before too long. I have the Protein Power book if you don't find it. I bought the book but never used it. I was going to put it in the next garage sale with several other diet books. I'm keeping Weight Watchers and Atkins, but getting rid of the rest... too confusing. I'd be happy to mail (or maybe even bring) it to you.
Jeanne: I have been on Atkins more than once. The first 2 weeks are very restrictive. What worked for me (until this year) was to go on Atkins for the 2 weeks, and then switch to Weight Watchers. I found that Atkins did a better job in jump starting. I didn't see as much weight lost as I did size reduction.
Dee: Hopefully you will get your daughter into some treatment program. I have no idea how that works in your area.
Have a great weekend, and we'll chat more Monday.

Howdy Ya'll
Well I went to the Dr. at 10:00...they didn't call me back to the room until almost 11:00!! If you aren't sick when you go...you sure would by the time you left!!! Sitting in the waiting area for an hour sick with a fever and coughing, sneezing and ear hurting is no fun!!
The Dr. said that I had strep throat and 2 ear infections (but only ONE ear hurts!)My throat was full of puss bags! The 5 minute test only took 3 minutes to confirm strep. She gave me a BIG shot in my booty and put me on Augmentin. She said that I must have pulled a muscle in my back because it is feeling better and not hurting me very much now.She said that if it continues to hurt, then come back.Duhhh!!
I have slept most of the day and I think the shot is finally kicking in!! :D
Dee.....I hope that you're ok.I really don't know what to say except please follow Ramona's advice. She's been there and KNOWS how you feel.I'm so sorry and I wish that I could take away your pain! I love you!!

Oh yeah.....One more thing:
When I went to the pharmacy to get my medicine filled, I was going to have my hormone pill filled also (I have been out for 2 days). Well guess what???? My insurance company changed to Cigna Healthcare the 1st of the year and they won't cover all meds!!!! They won't cover my "Cenestin." They WILL cover Primerin but that hurts my stomach! Now I'm waiting for the Dr. to call in something that they will cover!! Here I am...paying 135.00 every two weeks for family coverage and they won't pay for my medicine!!!!????
I have always had problems with my estrogen ever since my hysterectomy in '95. I have been on several different patches & pills. We FINALLY find one that I can take and then find out it's not covered!!!!!! :( I sure miss Blue Cross insurance!!!
