Hey everyone! I am a newbie here (I hope I'm doing this right!) and I really need some support! I am 21 and looking to lose some weight. I gained weight while I was on antidepressants (ugh!) and now I just want it all gone! The thing is, I have a really hard time with sugar cravings. It drives me nuts!!!
Does anyone have any suggestions for that?
I really need some support...I'm not getting a lot of support here...not because no one wants to help, but because I'm too shy to talk about it with just about everyone

Aww don't you worry hun! I am here for you day or night =) just ask! There's no need to be shy here, everyone is going through the same stuff as you are, and some have a lot longer way to go. We all need to support each other and the best way to do that is by getting out there and speaking up ^_^
I'm Jadeyn, and I'm also new here, and I will certainly be willing to give you whatever encouragments you need!
I'm up all the time, so if you ever need to talk or vent I am here for you and I know all about shyness (pretty much an expert on the subject).
I actually eat altoids as a craving deterrent. So I almost always have minty fresh breath. I mean altoids have calories but I'd rather have the small amount to eat them and then to eat what I'm craving (which is normally something sugary or salty).
I wish you the best of luck and you came to the right place. Not everyones open about what's going on in their lives, but this is a really safe place to actually open up and vent and let it all out.
I find if I don't allow myself sugar for a good week or so, the cravings go away. If I treat myself to some reese peanut butter cups those cravings come back for another week and it drives me nuts.
Be strict for a week and see how you feel
There's a lot of great people here, I find I only stay on plan when I visit daily and chat with people.
south beach is awesome! just a little headache at the beginning but it's like you feel your body kicking away the sugar addiction!
my problem is that i'm italian and here if you say you're on a diet like the southbeach they both think you're crazy and you're harming yourself!!
like other did, i'd say GO FOR IT!!

I love sweet tea, especially after dinner when I always want something sweet. Nice black tea with a splash of milk and two proper sugars always sorts me out and fills me up
