I'm just curious on how one focuses on losing 1 lb a week. What I mean is, is that there is no way to know how much we will lose in any given week - week after week after week.
One can safely lose 1 - 2% of their body weight, so provided you eat sensibly (stay on your plan) you *should* be able to lose that 1 lb per week and more. Of course weight loss is not linear and even if you were to do the same thing week after week after week, you most likely will get different results.
I guess my point is, is that we can't control what the scale will do, but we can definitely control what *we* do. So that's where I think your focus should lie. Focus on eating well, exercising, meal/snack planning, finding delicious, healthy, lower calorie foods to eat. Focus on finding strategies and skills to get you through all situations - stress, holidays, birthdays, boredom, anger, etc... Focus on making permanent changes. Focus on making this new way of eating enjoyable. Focus on getting your plan down pat, making it automatic and habitual. Focus on staying on plan.
You're off to a great start. I look forward to hearing of your progress.
