Default Tuesday Thread

OK, it's 3:12 a.m. on Tuesday morning... Only another hour and a half of work. But, the boss is gone so I actually have a little time to write a nice post that actually says something.

My hours right now are 6 p.m to 4:30 a.m. The first few days of last week were really tough, but things are going better this week. I had Sunday night off. It was wierd. I think I'd rather not have any nights off until this whole thing is over. Luckily, we're ahead of schedule and this is scheduled to end on May 30 instead of June 4.

On the WW side, I'm sure I'll probably be down at WI tonight. I just don't know when to eat. (Oh boy, I just got to walk the long length of this warehouse with this super-sexy guy, yum... Guys like him are what get me through til I get to see my lovebug.) Anyway, back to eating--I'll eat a nice big meal (typically chicken breast, couscous, milk, and vegetable) before work, then an apple for break at 9 and a sandwich and Jello for my lunch break at midnight. I'm not even getting my minimum points, but I don't want to cram all that food in so I don't. I figure this way, I have a little more leeway with my eating.

I really miss my nice, normal scheduled day hours, but by the same token, I have too wierd of a schedule to eat "naughty" foods and haven't been spending any money because all I do is sleep, get up, shower, and go to work. Well, ladies, I gotta balance my checkbook and see if there are any more cute guys to escort around here.

Miss you and will stop in again soon.

Morning All -

Just came from the gym - great workout - I feel so energized. I was sorry that I had to quit and come to work. Anyway, Hockey Boy (no one at the gym knows his name) thinks the Avs are going to meet the Wings in the western conference finals and wants to make a bet. He says if my team wins he'll wash and wax my car. I don't know a darn thing about this guy and am having trouble determining a counteroff (if his team wins I will......). Any ideas?

Jess - I can't imagine working the shift that you're working right now. Is it hard to stay awake or has your body gotten used to it in the last week? Why are you working such crazy hours anyway?

Tonya - What will your Master's be in?

And Lexxy - did that guy call last night? Details, details.

I managed to stay OP all day yesterday and feel so much better than I have the last several days. Amazing what even one day of fruits and veggies and water can do.

Angry Hi!

Just checking in for a few minutes before I run off to my meeting... I have only four weeks of work until I leave for Italy and 2 big deals to close before then, so my posts may be a bit sporadic for the next few weeks. Sorry in advance, but my job always seems to get in the way of my fun! My new assistant started yesterday though, so at least I will have some help. I am so excited about that.

Jess - Good to see you! I miss you! Good luck at WI tonight.

Winter - hmmmm, a counteroffer. I would probably offer to take him out to lunch. Not very creative, but a good way to figure out if there is any chemistry between you!

It's PMS week, and as usual, I am struggling. I am soooo hungry, no matter what I do. I hate it. At least I was down quite a bit this past week at WI so I have a bit of room to play with. And the exercise gives me more points to use. I am running tonight with my running group and if I go for 4 miles I will earn 5 points, so that will help. I am going to amend my numbers in my signature now that I have finally gotten below my goal weight! I still want to lose more though, so I am going to continue to go to WW once a week.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey, I am back from Vegas and have a little tan. It was GORGEOUS weather there! I came back to the 50's and it is super cold and crappy here!

Tonya... you cracked me up! I saw the billboard for Thunder Down Under and kept joking with hubby about it!!!! we went to Jubilee tho. I had already been to it, but hubby hadn't. It is done very classy!

I ate horrible while there, but I think I am better now. I think. I did so much walking that my legs ache. That's a good thing I think!!!

OK, work is nuts, so this is quick!

I BOUGHT A CAR!

Well, almost. I pick it up tomorrow night. It's a 2002 Honda CRV, color "eternal blue." I love it. I finally test drove one over the weekend — the last of the mini SUVs I was trying — and the dealership I went to wanted $2,000 over invoice. I couldn't afford that, so I left. Then I contacted autobytel.com, and was contacted by a dealership about an hour from me. They offered me $600 over invoice, and I took it. They're also giving me a good price on my trade-in. I'm so excited! I've had my Mitsubishi Mirage since 1994, and while it's been a good little car, I'm ready for something more comfy. Power windows and keyless entry ... what a concept. BF and I will be testing it out by driving to Florida this weekend! We'll be there all next week visiting my parents.

Hi to everyone! I'd write more but I just realized the time and I have to meet someone for lunch. Have a great day, everyone!

hello everyone! Just got back from a big long walk and feel really good. The weather is unusually nice today, sunny but not too hot and humid. Usually it's already summer by the end of April, so it's nice to get a little break. Anyway, I walked about 5 miles, and I need to walk to the library in a bit to drop off some more books, so lots of exercise for me today! I did a bunch of ab work last night, and I am definitely feeling it today! Ok, off to finish clearing my room out, I can't believe I let it get this messy!

Whoops! I do! Still getting used to this married thing!!!

BTW can anyone tell me why men are such slobs????Arrgh!!! We've only been married a month and i'm already tired of cleaning up after him-this is a bad habit to get into-but my tolerance for mess is so much lower than his! I told him I refused to do all the cleaning and he was like-"well, it doesn't seem dirty to me!" Men!! He would clean the bathroom once every three months! I already told him that once I am a part time worker and have kids I am using my spending money tog et a cleaning person to do the house over once a month-it is $40-$50 well spent in my opinion! And he was like " well, I don't want to raise the kids to be elitist" Is this elitist? What do people think? Should i just suck it up and clean, do the cooking and food shopping and work full time like my mom did????

Lori ~

Here is my .02 worth (coming from a married woman with 2 kids...)

You have to train men. They can't be "changed", but you certainly can "help them out" a bit. My DH has come a long way. I work full time, and do all the cooking, cleaning, shopping and caring for the kids (my DH works swing shift, so part of the time I am a single mom, when he is around, he is a big help with the kids), but when they were babies, he wasn't. I had this fantasy, that when we had our babies, he would volunteer to change them, bath them etc. Dream on...men need to be told what to do and when to do it. So after telling him to pick up the toys, or bath the children, he eventually got it and I don't have to remind him anymore. He picks up after himself, and gets after the kids when they dont.

As far as the maid goes. DH and I just had this conversation. When our house is finished (we are building and should be in by Sept.) he is hiring a maid twice a month to come in and clean. I graciously accepted. I grew up with a mom working full time and my dad working swing shift, and mom doing everything, and realized early that quality time with the kids is a precious commodity. So, if someone can free me of two hours a week of cleaning, that is more time I can spend with my wonderful kids. I say "THANK GOD FOR CLEANING LADIES!".

My DH came from a family that his mother never worked (has never worked a day in her life) and his father supported them very well. He now gets to see first hand how much I contribute to the family and all that I do. (Plus, I always think it is wise to leave for a business trip for a couple days a year, with him watching the kids and taking care of everything, he learns to appreciate you REALLY fast!!)

Sorry I am rambling....I think once your are married, the real test is time, maturity and children.....I see my brother now, just married a couple years ago, and his wife wanting children, and the things she says she "won't" give up...it will be interesting (I wasn't inciuating anything on your part, o.k.??? )

Well, I have to get some things done here at work. I promise I will post properly tomorrow!!!
