Now it's time to start fresh, kinda like back in kindergarten......"

I hope you ladies don't mind that I started a new thread. From what I remember it was 100 posts and then they would close us up.....so I figured I would start a new thread for us!
our neighbor that cut my hair, and well basically gave me my little mini makeover on Labor Day informed me last night that she is going to do my eyebrows again, as well as my hair and my make up. She told me that she was going to make me all sexy and then send me home to seduce Tommy. Tommy then asked me last night while we were getting the kids ready for bed if I was going to turn it down. I said "**** no! it is nice to get pampered even if it hurts when she plucks my eye brows!"
Logan is doing better.....in fact I would hardly even call him sick, but he still has a runny nose. Brandon is almost better but not 100% health wise....if you were to look at him you wouldn't think that he was sick until you heard him sniffle. Marissa seems to be the worst out of all three of them. So, I am keeping an eye on her now.
Oh yeah.....the pediatrician's office called me yesterday! The referral for Brandon to see the ENT is done and so now I am going to call on Thursday to make his appointment! So, hopefully they have somewhat late hours so we can get him in there without any problems!

Good morning ladies- Have been so tired and not getting much done the last 2 days. Tues. DH had to prep for a procedure and had it yesterday. I had to have him at the clinic at 6:30 a.m. plus not getting much sleep the night before. Now I just can't seem to get back up to par. Doesn't help that I am having sinus, allergy issues. UGH!
I only rode 2 miles the last 2 days, so need to get out there and kick a$$ today...where I will get the strength, I don't know. :)
Mindee- Hope the little ones get totally better soon. Glad you are having fun with the make overs. That is something I could use.
Tammy- Way to go on the loss. Be safe on your trip. I can only imagine traffic in DC today. *shudder*
Cristina- You are still teh bomb with your exercise. I had a "woe is me" day yesterday and decided to heck with it. But when it came time to eat I shook it off and did the right thing. Even tho I am stalled at this weight I know I am doing the best thing for my body..so I will continue.
Susan- Cable is good...lol. Really, I watch t.v. in spurts. Right now I am on a reading kick, but I do like my HGTV shows and Jeopardy.
Sassy- *fingers and eyes crossed* for hubby's call back. Sounds promising.
Katy- I love the pics. of your kiddos first day of school. Boys have a way of looking so bored...but they are both adorable.
Asia- Come out and play! Hope things are good with you and the BF.
Jules- Doesn't sound like Teri took Dave back, or did I miss something? Anyway, wanted to wish you luck at WW. I thought my BFF would join with me, but so far no go. Since we plan to go away half the year again I hate to put the money into joining anything.
I know I am missing someone...and I am too lazy to go back to the other thread.... so forgive me. I think I am going to take an allergy tab and nap.
09-11-2008, 02:44 PM
It is Thursday!!
Unless you are Sassy and it is Saturday ( I think)!! :carrot:
wow Mindee- I want a neighbor like you have! haha Beck called me up last night and suggested a pedicure ((for both of us))when I come in this weekend. I kind of said ok but it is like $21 and I might have too many bills. Ok, not might, I know I have too many bills. lol Great about the ENT for Brandon but sorry the kids are under the weather, praying they are all back to 100% asap! And thanks for the new thread!:D
Sue - Ya, I am too lazy too to go back and see what was written. lol
Lets just talk amongest ourselves....lol Ick on the allergy/sinus issues, hope you are back up to speed soon :) I guess cable is good, Gaby keeps telling me that too. lol I just want to be ready for the Bachelor when it comes back on in November!:D
I did 1 application this morning and think that is it for the week.
Good news is I have lost 60lbs in 16 months! Yay, and 1 pound from goal, double yay.
And keep my Hawaii Man in your prayers he is facing a triple bi-pass...3 of his arteries are 80-90% clogged. Has me concerned so I think I will just go and stay busy for the rest of the day.
Hi  to everyone!!
09-11-2008, 03:41 PM
MINDEE..Thanks for starting the new thread!
Sorry this is a short one...I've got Cambrie for the next three days. Went grocery shopping and then picked her up at the hospital...Josh went for bad stomach pains and he thought he would be out in a couple of hours...funny! Anyway, they are still there so I went and got Cambrie. Anyway...I'll be back later tonight to do individuals.
Have a great day!
09-11-2008, 04:37 PM
just a quick one from me right now......all seems quiet for now! I believe Logan did/still is taking a nap. Marissa seems to be protesting, but I think that she is actually sleeping now!
I called and made Brandon's ENT appointment.....he goes on September 25th at 11am. I am taking this all as a good sign because it is my grandpa's birthday (as well as a younger sister's birthday as well)
I am proud of myself, I got in my workout dvd both yesterday and today! I feel so great after doing it and I really do sleep better at night when I get my workout in.
You are all welcome for starting the new thread! I figured it had to be done and since I was online I might as well do it.
Cristina~ How is Josh doing? Did they figure out what was giving him the bad stomach pains?
SuzieQ~ You are doing great! I have lost about 25 pounds in almost 16 months. I was about 254ish when I had Marissa, and now today I am sitting at 229.6. And I am not done by far! Great job on your hard work!
well, off to finish up with my email before Brandon gets home from school.
09-11-2008, 10:18 PM
Susan- You are an inspiration!
I did get a 3 mile ride tonight. Food has been good...not great, but okay. I cooked cabbage for dinner and ate lots of that and carrots. Decided not to eat anything else. With the sinus and allergy prob I am at least not hungry....that might help. :)
09-11-2008, 11:49 PM
SUSAN...missed that earlier...will definitely say a prayer for R.
Sorry ladies...long night and not in the mood for indies...will be back tomorrow for sure though.
09-12-2008, 12:00 AM
just popping back in here while I have a chance....
all three kids were in bed by 8:30......so I was sitting on the couch catching up on some Ghost Hunters episodes from last month. I was ready for bed, and was about to go until I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 9pm!
SuzieQ~ I missed that earlier as well. I will definitely say a prayer for R.

Hi all--woke up with a really bad headache but the coffee * Excedrin Migrane seem to be working--going back to chiro again today--he thinks some of my back & neck troubles are stemming from me bad knee--he gave me some stratches to do everynight on Wednesday--I have to get motivated and get to my WW meeting==if I don't go today I will just keep putting it off...
Sue--having headaches and back trouble here but no allergies yet which is definitly strange for me...Teri is definitely not going back to Dave. SInce he got out of jail (and his monther lied to me about that) he has gone right back to the bad stuff he was doing before. He's been out for about a month and is back to drinking, making up lies, no job since he is always waiting for a "friend" to get him one.....Teri says she loves him and wants to be friends but thats it. He mentioned that if Teri doesn't go after him for child support that he may sign over his rights. Hi other ex is getting ready to take him back to court for delinquent child support so he will probably do another 45 days...I hope Teri's next guy is a good one.
Mindee--Teri used to do my eyebrows--now I go to a place and there are two faves there--an oriental girl and a russian one. Both are really nice and good at what they do...Hope Brandon gets feeling better
Cristina--any word on Josh?? Hope he's ok..have fun with Cambrie
SuzyQ--pedicure sounds nice..hope Rocky is ok--keep us posted.
Tammy--are you ready for the rain again???
Katy--the cleanse is going good...no adverse effects...but can tell it's working....I missed the learn to knit socks class....there is a lady that opened a shop close that is willing to give me 4 weeks of one on one for $50...I am thinking about it...I would like to do more than the knit stitch and scarves...
Francie--hope everything is ok with you!!
Sassy--it's the weekend....
09-12-2008, 10:43 AM
Leigh is home sick...ALREADY. She was home yesterday, and I thought she would be back in the swing, but today she has a little fever, so we are staying home and drinking lots of fluids. I cleaned the whole house yesterday, so I guess I'll have to tackle other parts of my list today. I need to get after the kids' rooms...they tend to stuff things into their closets and under their beds in the guise of "cleaning their rooms". I got a look at my son's closet yesterday and realized an intervention is necessary. Was going to go to the gym, but now that L is sick, I may get a walk before my son goes to school, or I'll do a video. Also, today is hubby's birthday! We are going to take him to his favorite restaurant...all the more reason to get some exercise today!
Susan- will keep Rocky in my prayers today; hopefully he will follow up with diet and exercise...but first, a successful surgery! Congrats on your terrific weight loss...you have been so dedicated; I need to get some of that to rub off on me!
Mindee - likewise - wtg on your 25 pound loss. I've lost 25 since I started my group, but it has been over two years..soo slow! It can be frustrating, but it helps to check in here and see how well you and others are doing and it helps me stay on track.
Jules - glad the cleanse is going well. Hopefully you are getting to the root cause of your headaches...that does not sound like fun. Good for Teri for not getting back with Dave.
Hi to everyone else..sorry I can't ge to everyone right now, but my sick daughter is calling for me..off I goo. Hopefully I'll get back later.
09-12-2008, 01:28 PM
I am paying computer service at $1.50 every 10 minutes...so I ain't chatting much right now! lol
Rocky will find out about his surgery this morning. He did lose a lot of weight over the last 2 years and cut out a lot of the rice and even has his own garden growing. I am not sure what else he has been eating though. A lot of fatty foods, probably??
I bought a bag of clothes yesterday for $10!! It was $10 bag day....I bought (drum roll) 4 tee shirts, 5 sweaters, 1 pair of jeans and 1 skirt. I am wearing the skirt and the black sweater this morning because I have a job interview!! :carrot:,,,,it is just for motel managment but it is a job w/ benefits so I will head for that right now and chat more later today!!
Hope you all are having a good morning.
09-12-2008, 01:49 PM
Susan- Good vibes for the job interview. And prayers for Rocky. Keep us posted on both please.
Katy- Hope Leigh is feeling better. Sounds like you have been full of energy with cleaning the whole house. Something I need to do. As soon as they take in the corn around us I can wash windows again.
Jules- Sure hope you get relief from your ailments. I have never gone to a chiro. I go next week for my yearly exam and mammo. ugh... May be able to get something for this sinus mess.
Cristina- Get feeling better and let us know how it is going with Cambrie. I must admit, I have never heard that name before...what is her middle name? Also, how is Josh? Nothing serious I hope.
Mindee- Well, you should catch up on your sleep when the little ones go down early. They sure can keep you up and at 'em other times. I'm sure you have lost lots of sleep over the years, as do most Mom's.
Sassy- Have a good time off?? Hope DH hears about the job soon.
Tammy, Asia, Francie, Happy week-end to you all.
Well, the scale was still down a hair this morning, so if it holds till Monday I will count it. I don't know how it bounces up and down all week when I think I am being so good. There has to be something I am missing...other people lose 2 or 3 pounds at a time and mine is more like ounces...lol. When I get to 170 it just wants to STICK right there. I get so discouraged. Okay...done whining.
09-12-2008, 03:32 PM
Sue - Remember when I was at 171 for like 6 months?? It was sooo frustrating but it started moving again...it'll happen and ounces add up!! :carrot: The cabbage & carrots sound good, I love steamed cabbage.
Cristina - How is Josh? I hope ok and you are able to enjoy Cambrie this weekend. You feeling better? :)
Katy - to L, sorry she isn't feeling well. When we were in there last weekend the pool was closed for there 2 week maintenance, I bet it is nice to have it back open?!?! I really need to tone up. Now you planted the idea....I need to clean too. I guess I will go home and change into grubbies and do that myself. I need to get a vacuum first,,,,,I have been sweeping w/ a broom - lol ...like a prairie girl :D Happy Birthday to your husband!! Where are you going for dinner?
Jules - hope you get some relief too and start feeling better! It is also great to have you back posting, we missed you!!
Mindee- Congrats on the 25 pounds!! I guess it can seem to go slow at times but when you look back it is like...."I am losing weight!"....I like being able to get into smaller size clothes, I think that is the best part....lol, probably should be for my health first but I am shallow,,,haha. Hope you and the family have afun weekend!
 to Sassy, Francie, Asia and Tammy!
My interview went ok, she even said she had other applications but wasn't going to interview them. The job will only be 25-28 hours a week, good pay though and medical after 6 months. I am not sure if I can afford to take it , I might have to get another part time job, we'll see. It is Friday, I am just going to relax and have some fun w/ the girls.
Thanks for all the encouragement! It means a lot and seeing everyone else do well keeps me motivated to do the same :)
anyway, time is ticking so I will chat more later!
09-12-2008, 03:53 PM
just popping in here for a second!
I got in my workout today, and have for the past three days. I stepped on the scale today and I am down to 227.6!!!!
It is raining here, so it has been a blah kind of day. Logan is protesting on taking a nap, like usual. Marissa seems to be napping, or at least she is being quiet. She has been off in her sleeping since she has gotten sick. So, we are going to probably take her in tonight to get her checked out.
Jules~ I hope you were able to make it to your meeting! I love your new avatar! Dominic is getting so big!!
Katy~ Happy birthday to your hubby!!! I hope L gets better soon! We seem to have a houseful of sickies on this end.
SuzieQ~ Good luck on the job interview!!! And I will continue to say some prayers for Rocky.
Sue~ I am going to try and catch up on my sleep when the kids go to bed early. I try to, and then usually I remember something that I forgot to do...so I get up to do that and then get sidetracked to something else.
nothing really big planned for this weekend. we are going to clean the carpets this weekend.........nothing big or exciting about that!
09-12-2008, 04:40 PM
Another quickie for me...I'm on a computer I don't like and Cambrie is sleeping so trying to be extra quiet. I will be back later this evening to catch up for sure. Also, waiting for Jason to call...he's having problems with his car and trying to get someone to fix it so I might have to go get him...when it rains it pours! And speaking of that...it is flooding in so many places here...rain, rain, go away! Chat later ladies...have a good day!
09-12-2008, 06:01 PM
I was meaning to say that Grizzly Man's Diaries is on tonight on the Animal Planet. I liked the movie a lot and saw the promo for this show last night.
Mindee- Carpet cleaning is pretty exciting! :D Good for you on being consistant w/ the exercising! I will talk w/ Rocky tonight so I will let you know an update tomorrow. Thanks for the good wishes on the job front! I need some good luck w/ benefits ticking away. lol
Cristina - come back and chat :D
I am making a fast run into Portland tomorrow, Gaby is going to her father's til Sunday. Rach wants to do some more shopping and she wants a lip piercing....and here her sister just wants a pedicure. haha. We'll see about the lip.
so, another busy weekend.....suppose to be hotter in Portland??? I think. Have to break out the shorts again.
k- off to get teh Gabster.
09-12-2008, 10:51 PM
nothing new since my last posting.......
the boys were in bed by 8pm AND asleep! Marissa is still awake in the bedroom......but I think she was just missing daddy. she was calling for him as soon as she heard him walk in the door.
Cristina~ How is every one doing?
SuzieQ~ How did the job interview go? How is Rocky doing?
09-12-2008, 11:06 PM
Got 3 miles ridden tonight. I am proud of the eating today also.
I noticed that my legs are looking pretty darn good, and I had to hook the bra over on the next clasp. So...as usual I am losing the girls before much of anything else. And darn, my legs should be slimming with all the pedaling. (I even have calf muscles) :)
I spent part of the day booking flights for our trip. I had booked rooms earlier, and finally got some good prices on air. DH booked the rental car, so we are ready to hit the road next month. I am excited! I get to see "baby boy" and my step-son too.
Not doing a thing the week-end. Well, I will probably do yard work if it stops raining. I want to dig a few things up and it should be easy after the rain.
09-13-2008, 02:06 AM
I'm back...thought I better get back and catch up before it gets too far and I can't.
SUE...Charlotte's mother babysat a little girl many, many years ago and suggested the name...probably told her to name her Cambrie, lol. Apparently her mother has a lot of say so in her life but that's neither here nor there. It's a form of Cambria...makes me think of cheese. Her middle name is Janelle after Charlotte's mother of course. Good job on your biking! :carrot: And the loss...and every little bit adds up in the end so :bravo: to you!
SUSAN...enjoy your weekend in Portland with the girls. The job sounds great! Guess if nothing else comes along, right now it would be better than nothing at all. And :congrats: on being almost to goal! You are doing a great job! :bravo: Almost forgot to say woohoo on the bag of clothes!
MINDEE...:woohoo: on the 25 pounds! You are doing great with your exercise! Hey, when you're done with the carpets there, you can come and do ours! Been meaning to get them done for a while, just get busy with other stuff and forget.
KATY...hugs to L, hope she feels better soon.
JULES...glad the cleanse is going well.
HI SASSY, TAMMY, ASIA and FRANCIE...hoping all is well with you ladies.
Let's see, what's been going on...Josh is fine. We are thinking it is gallstones but for some stupid reason this doc is treating him for acid reflux...what?! They gave him some medicine to take and he has an appt. with a doc next week, or the week after.
Exercise and eating is fine. Never have a problem with the exercise, just usually the food. But I'm workin' on it. I have managed to get my exercise in even with Miss Cambrie here. She can be a handful but for the most part, she is a good kid, and she listens to her Nana. I haven't gotten any reading in since she's been here and that has put me back...I am definitely slacking in the reading department.
Had some errands to run today and it was horrible! It was pouring and I shouldn't have gone out in it but oh well...can't stop living because of rain now can we? I will be glad when it stops though, so I can go outdoors and walk. We've had quite a bit of flooding around the area. They said on the news we got 8 point something inches since last night...that is crazy! And it's not over yet :yikes:
Nothing special planned for the weekend. I am hoping to get some reading in for sure once Cambrie goes home, which is tomorrow. That and catch up on my laundry...ugh, behind in that. Anyway...that's about all I have.
Nighty, night ladies
09-13-2008, 02:40 AM
well, every body is in bed and asleep! I am watching the coverage of Ike. I finally found where my aunt, uncle, and grandma live in Texas on a map. They are up closer to the Oklahoma border, but from the projected path, Ike is supposed to shift up their way. So, I am hoping that they are all safe and sound.
Sue~ I have always noticed that the girls run for the hills first! which makes me kind of sad since the only time I seemed to have had them was when I was pregnant! Now, they like to sag and not stay where they should be! Great job on your biking!!!
Cristina~ Thanks for the nice comments on my weight loss. Actually Tommy is the one that is going to be using the carpet cleaner. He told me the other day that when he is doing the cleaning of the carpet me and the kids are to go outside and play just to stay out of the way. But wouldn't you know it, it is suppose to rain all weekend. So, I am not seeing that happening! (the part of the kids staying out of the way......not the carpets not getting done)
09-13-2008, 09:19 AM
Hey Peeps.
Ya'all been chattin' it up!!! :blah: lol. Today is my last day and night of "Freedom" before I have to go and do my "long week" then its VACATION!!! :woohoo:
I had a bit of a breakthrough. We went shopping at Costco and they had some really nice and soft robes. I wanted to buy one for my mother for Christmas, but she is so darn small, I didn't want it to swallow her, so I of course wanted to see how big they ran. First it was a large, eeeeeee wrong, WAY too big for my mom, just could tell by looking. So then I got a medium, it still looked to big. So I tried it on, figured no way in hades it was gonna fit me, but ya know what? It did! :yikes: Now it didn't close in front, but still, before I'd never even get a darn arm in a medium, let alone both arms and not feel like I'm in a straight jacket! So I was gonna get her a small, but DH reminded me how she likes to "layer" clothes, esp in the winter time. So I went ahead and got her the medium. So I began thinking :chin: if a medium almost fit me, than an XL probably would fit me. So I tried it on. It did fit! :carrot: Ok so not such a big deal, but it is to me. Now it does not close all the way up, but most of the way up and it is so soft, figured I'd get it and I could work on making it "too big" for me. ;) So my new goal is to get into a size that does NOT have an X in it! lol.
Anyways, that is about it from my end. DH scrubbed down the kitchen, even cleaned the OVEN!!! :yikes: (We do not have a self-cleaning oven) Now to get him to do that in the bathroom......:chin: lol. No, I am extremely thankful that I have a DH who will clean like that and to let me sleep while he does it! Now that my friends, is true love!
Cristina -- I guess great minds think alike -- love your Avatar! hee hee. (see my signature! I put mine in even before I saw yours!) ;)
Well folks, have a Great Saturday, enjoy yourselves!
A fast morning hello.....made it to Portland and going to head out for some shopping w/ Rach. Still have Gaby and need to meet up w/ her father for the *change over*....I love Gab but I sure could use some time without her. awww, now I feel bad for writing that.
Mindee- Job interview went good, I think I pretty much got it if I want it. I wasn't going to start til the 22nd though because I wanted another week of vacation....lol, like I have already had over a year off. ha. Rocky is scheduled for net Friday on his surgery.
Cristina - Cute about Cambries name and how it reminds you of cheese. lol
Sue & Sassy!! Hi ......
chat more later when I have time.....everytime I get on the computer that is when everyone else is finally ready. :)
09-13-2008, 11:09 PM
Good evening...Rode 3 miles, ate OP, feel very good...the scale was still down, so Mon. looks good. *fingers crossed*
The best...I found the measurements I took of myself in March...I am down a total of 10 inches. I couldn't believe that. And of course 4 inches was in my chest...so see, I said the girls were the first to go. :)
Talk to you tomorrow.
09-13-2008, 11:18 PM
Hello, and a Happy Saturday! Even though it is almost over, lol :D
SASSY...such an awesome NSV! :carrot: :bravo: to the med & large! And yes, great minds do think alike ;) It was so darn pretty and it brightened my day so thought what the heck, I was ready for a new avatar. Isn't that always the way it goes...your days off go faster than your work days.
SUSAN...you should never feel bad...I know you love your girls but I think we all need a break from the kids sometimes. It does us good to have some 'me' time. Enjoy your weekend in Portland and congrats on the job!
MINDEE...woohoo, all the kids were asleep at the same time! I just saw something about IKE...was wondering if my Aunt and Cousin are okay...need to write my other cousin. They live in Houston...scary stuff there. We have had so much rain here, ick! Hoping to have a rain-free day tomorrow, for the next few days.
HIYA KATY, JULES, FRANCIE, TAMMY, SUE & ASIA! Hoping all is well with you ladies.
I didn't do much of anything today. For some reason (thinking it is the gloomy weather) I was sleepy all day. But I did manage to get out and mow the front yard...it was WET! And Cambrie wanted to ride her bike around the neighborhood. Watched some cartoons and movies while going in and out with Cambrie. She couldn't make up her mind what she wanted to do, too cute! She went home about 5'ish. Love her to death but glad when she goes home. Now I can read! Finishing up my last load of clothes as well. Other than that, not much going on. I took my free day today since she was here and it was raining this morning. Although, I probably could have done it today...just thought she would be too tired to ride her bike 3 miles. Always tomorrow.
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! Hugs
09-13-2008, 11:21 PM
HIYA SUE
WTG & :bravo: on the inches! That is wonderful! Good job on the three miles and being OP! Keeping my fingers crossed for a good weigh in on Monday! :crossed: You reminded me that I forgot to weigh today, oops!
09-14-2008, 10:42 AM
Good Sunday Morning, ladies!
I am so happy! The sun is actually shining today! Hey, it's the first time in days so it's really nice to finally see. But...always a but in there, the wind is horrible and it made for a cold walk this morning. Only did half because everytime I get outside, and especially in the wind, the allergies start. So I cut it short and will finish up on the treadmill.
And...today is my 30th day...can't believe how fast the 30 days went by. Will weigh tomorrow to see where I am at. I weighed Saturday and was still at 182.6, lol which is what I weighed in at on the first day of the challenge. I laugh because I thought all my eating out was affecting my weight loss, apparently not. Not that I am going to run out and pig out...just wanted to challenge myself. I'll get there. I did this when I was in the 190's...stayed there forever and them something happened and it started coming off. Now I am stuck in the 180's, ugh! At least when I get where I want to be I know I can maintain.
Anyway, hello to everyone  Hope you have a wonderful Sunday! Hugs
09-14-2008, 11:48 AM
Good Sunday morning to you Cristina and everyone else too.
I haven't done much yet this morning, not being a morning person. I had a nice breakfast of scrambled eggs with fresh mushrooms and a piece of wheat toast. I made the eggs with only half whole eggs and half whites. (mom and I both have to watch cholesterol)
It is hot here again today so we have the A/C on for the second day. The humidity is what is brutal. Mon. is going to be cooler...so I am putting off the yardwork for yet another day. (It was too wet from all the storms anyway)
Scales are still down, so tomorrow I can tell FOR SURE.
I put on a top that is way looser than when I wore it last...isn't that always nice?
Back later...gotta go goof off....drink coffee and read papers.
09-14-2008, 12:35 PM
You're so good Sue, at any hint of a weight loss I am so ready to change my ticker. lol
:bravo: on the weight loss!
Cristina - Good for you on the challenge! Do you continue it or is there another challenge you want to work on?
I am heading home this morning. Ate, Ate and Ate my whole visit.....I don't look forward to the scale tomorrow. Up n down,,,up n down,,,,cross fingers it isn't too bad.
Slept good and enjoyed seeing my R's , hope they make the trip down net weekend.
anyway, see ya on the flip side!!

Hey all........nothing new.........its back to work for me tonight.........:( Well at least only 4 nights until my vacation starts............Cristina.........sorry didn't mean for you to have to change your avatar......I can change mine.......
Have a Great Sunday.
09-14-2008, 05:23 PM
just a quick one from me right now.......Tommy brought the insurance stuff home from his work, and now we have to pick out doctors for me and him, and I have to find another one for the kids.....which I really don't want to.
so wish me luck on that endeavor!
I will have to come back later and catch up with every one...........
09-15-2008, 01:41 AM
Well we had some major winds here in Southwestern Ohio!!! They said it was like us basically getting a Category 1 Hurricane, only without the water. There are trees down everywhere, there is about 666,000 people without power, its just a mess. Our grill on our deck almost blew off! And we have a very heavy grill! I know its nothing like what the poor people who are experiencing the full affect of the Hurricanes, my heart and prayers go out to them.......But wow!
Well that is about it. I feel better, I was really kinda down this morning, (if you couldn't tell -- lol) I guess this massive wind storm woke my butt up! lol.
09-15-2008, 01:35 PM
Happy to hear you are safe Sassy! I was able to watch a little of Ike on Friday but not much since.
Mindee- Yay for insurance! Hope you are able to get doctor's you will be happy with. My daughters seem to have some really great ones.
Out applying for jobs still. There is one I just called on and had to leave a message. It is at the military camp site out here on the coast, food prep position. Serving hash to the guys, how much better could it get??:D
Don't know if you remember when I went to camp w/ my job for a week 2 year ago???
Anyway, same place....and it actually sounds like fun to me. So, hope to hear back from the lady today, otherwise I will call again.
Up alittle on the scale, no biggie...always am up after the weekend, if I don't go back down by Wednesday, I will change it.
Found a a place that sells sunflowers by the road side yesterday! There are a lot of those and last week I bought 2 bunches of mums but my all time favorite flower is a sunflower so I was thrilled.
Gaby hates flowers though, thinks there are bugs in them. lol
k- I guess that is it, I have some more errands before I can get out of this skirt for the day. Look forward to the beach after school! :)
You all have a great day!
09-15-2008, 03:23 PM
Good morning..or is it? After flirting with 168 for four days I actually weighed in at 169 this morning. Geeze, I hate this up and down. At least I have been below 170 for a few days. The dreaded 170 that is so hard to leave behind...lol.
Other than that, doing the Monday chores...
09-15-2008, 03:26 PM
Happy Monday, Ladies...
SASSY...you did NOT have to change your siggy missy. I changed mine just because, but definitely not because you had it in your siggy. I have changed it like 5 times since...always trying to find one that fits me, or that I can deal with for more than a few months...haven't found it yet...probably never will, lol. So...you go and put yours back up! Please :p I just saw that on the news last night and was going to ask if you guys are okay. Scary stuff for sure. Was watching the Today show this morning and Matt Laur is in Galveston...poor people, my heart goes out to them. I emailed my cousin in Denver because my cousin & Aunt (her sister & mom) are in Houston and I've not heard if they are okay or what.
SUSAN...awww, thank you so much for the card and pics today! Made my day! Love the card, and your new place is awesome! Also love Gaby's pink jacket/coat, lol. So stinking cute she is! Glad you had a nice visit with the girls over the weekend. I know they will love your new place, it's nice! I think the camp/caf job would be perfect! Hoping you get it :crossed: And I do remember when you did the camp thing, I remembered you really enjoyed it.
MINDEE...lots of luck on your endeavor...did you guys pick a new doc. I hate that. Mine quit a few years ago and I was forced to choose another, ugh. Such a pain...never know if you are going to get a good one or not.
SUE...your breakfast sounded good. Hope it's a cooler day today for ya.
HIYA TAMMY, KATY, JULES, FRANCES & ASIA...hoping all is well with you ladies.
More drama on the homefront, lol. Hey, I have to laugh about it so I don't get mad. Apparently, when Cambrie leaves from Nana's she has fits and doesn't want to listen to the mom & dad so guess who gets blamed? Whatever...so tired of all the BS. Of course there was a long discussion about the boy and I had to set her straight on him. The kids lies...he will say whatever comes to mind to get out of trouble and I for one am tired of it all. I am a bad MIL & Nana, lol...again, whatever. I'm not mad, really. I've never had so many issues with someone like this before and I am trying my best to not tell her to f'off. Because I know if I do it will mean not seeing Josh ever. But jeez louise. Anyway...
Susan...not sure where I will go from here, with another challenge or what. I have been thinking about what I will do. I did break down and go to McD's for breakfast but kept thinking to myself, I know this is not going to taste good. And it didn't...didn't finish it. So...I don't plan to go straight out and start binging on eating out. But it sure feels good knowing I did it and can do it...pass on it that is. Maybe my next challenge will be just working on losing 5 pounds. :dunno:
Did a dvd this morning, went for 1/2 my walk because I plan on mowing the backyard this afternoon...that's a good workout in itself. Other than that, not much going on.
Have a great Monday, ladies!
09-15-2008, 03:28 PM
just popping in while I can.....
Wednesday is Brandon's curriculum night......then next Thursday, the 25th, is his ENT appointment. I can't wait for that because I want to know exactly what is going on with his hearing.
Sassy~ It is good to hear from you and that you guys stayed safe!
SuzieQ~ The pediatrician that we picked for the kids is one that we tried to get them into a loooong time ago.....but they weren't expecting new patients at the time. good luck with the job!!!
09-15-2008, 03:33 PM
you ladies snuck in on me.....
Sue~ How are you doing on this Monday?
Cristina~ breathe in........breathe out........breathe in......breathe out.....repeat as many times as needed. Me and Tommy basically haven't had insurance through his work in a good two years if not more. When I was pregnant I was able to get onto the state insurance, but that is only while you are pregnant.
09-15-2008, 06:01 PM
Checking in for a second, have to dash to the school for Gaby. I was laet for her one day by 5 minutes and she will never let me live that dwon! haha
Sue - yay, on the 169!
Mindee- yay on the doctor for the kids!
Cristina - Yay....to nasty tasting fast food!! lol jk,,,,sorry about the drama w/ kids, it is kind of amusing how you write it though, had me laughing. I hope it calms down though :)
So, I start Monday on the motel job. I haven't heard back on the caf/food prep thing. At least the motel job offers medical and is basically the same hours as when Gab is in school, so I like that...plus the ladies are nice.
News on Rocky is he will travel to another island for the surgery, he will have no family , which made me tear up. He is always there for everyone else and no one will be there for him. His mom did want to come from CA but she is in ill health too. Anyway, just keep him in warm thoughts , especially Thursday and Friday as he is prepared for surgery. Thanks!!
k- better dash!
09-15-2008, 08:05 PM
Hello again
Glad I could amuse you Susan, lol. Hey, I have to take it all with a grain of salt because otherwise I would be mad at them all the time, lol. Anyway...after I set her straight, kidding of course...we got things worked out. We talked, she cried and apologized for her sons' bad behavior, almost made me cry.
SUSAN...I am sorry that Rocky won't have anyone there for and with him. Can his in-laws not be there for him? That is sad, and I will definitely keep him in my thoughts. Yay to the job! :carrot:
MINDEE...lol, I was breathing, or rather trying to, lol. Funny, because I tell myself that all the time.
Okay, sorry for cutting this short, but gotta go. Jason has had some problems with his car and they've had it all day. It is going to be ready at 6:30 and they close at that time so he needs to be there then. And yes, I am the taxi service.
Have a good (what's left of the day), ladies!
09-16-2008, 01:07 AM
well, the school year has officially begun......Brandon brought home his first fundraiser for the year! I was breezing through it and found a couple of things, then Tommy chimed in and said "we are completely broke right now" and then I flashed by the Harley stuff and I heard a "ohhhh.....yeah baby.....oh yeah!"
I am going to send my sisters and my mom an email to see if they want to buy anything from him. I have to set up an account online for them to get access to it so that he gets credit for them.
we bought a couple of things from our friend's son last year.....in fact, that is how I got my subscription to All You was through the fundraiser.
but anyways......I hurt my ankle trying to get off the couch. I had some ice cream and I got up to put the bowl in the sink, and my leg gave out under me. thankfully the floor wasn't too far for me to get to, but my ankle has been bothering me. I have been keeping it up and I am about to get some ice here soon to put on it.
SuzieQ~ I will definitely keep Rocky in my thoughts and prayers. Good luck with the motel job!
Cristina~ Just continue to do that and you won't have any more issues......well, one can hope anyways!
I am off to send the email off to family and friends about Brandon's fundraiser.
09-16-2008, 01:38 AM
Some people still have no power yet, but its a lot less, I think they said its down from 666,000 to 550,000. Lots of trees down, shingles blown off roofs, etc, etc. We found some big scratches on the back of our car from shingles blowing off that we have to get fixed. Already called the insurance, we just wanted to get into the system, we realize it will be a while with everything going on right now. Its not major, but it is down to the metal.
Well that is about it...............sorry I haven't done indies, I will once I am off. I do read everybody's posts. .............I hope you all are well.
09-16-2008, 01:16 PM
Sassy - glad you are alright and that you have vacay coming soon. Are you still having a stay-cation?
Susan- congrats on the job. Having bennies and a good schedule is awesome. I envy you being in beautiful Astoria, especially this time of year. Keeping R in my prayers...is his son going to be able to be with him?
Cristina - Too bad the gks are being little pills, but I'm glad you worked it out with their mom. Hopefully, they'll get a little older and settled into the new family routine and their behavior will improve. You and V are a good stabilizing influence and I bet their mom is very happy to have married into such a nice family. Having been in a blended family before, inevitably there are bumps, but it can work...ours didn't, but that's beside the point, lol!. My DH's family did, and it has been such a good thing for us especially since our kids came along.
Sue - congrats on your loss. Sounds like you and I lose the same way. The scale flirts with me for a long time before a single pound manages to stay off for good. I have learned to live with it. As long as the pounds stay off, I can deal with losing them slowly.
Mindee - ugh - fundraisers...just wait til you have three of them each bringing home that stuff - oy. I started just donating a lump sum to the school and calling it good. I don't have time to sell the stuff for the kids, and if they sell as much as they want to win the prizes they want, it cuts into school and extracurriculars. No win. My son wants to sell magazines and win an itouch. I think that's an iphone. Never mind that the internet service on that is out of the question. I said, just save your money and get an ipod! The school doesn't get that big of a cut from those things.
Hi to everyone else! I scooted over to myspace earlier in the week and saw a post from Francie. They are in Annapolis, but with no internet. Hopefully they'll get it up and running soon. I also started a facebook page this week, so if any of you are on there and want to add me, pm me and I'll tell you what name I'm using this week ;)
I'm getting back on track this week after eating way too much chocolate cake over the weekend. We had it THREE nights in a row, all to celebrate DH's birthday. But does HE gain any weight? NO. Of course, he ran 21 miles on Saturday, but that's beside the point - hee hee. So, today I started off with my standard egg white omelette, with some homegrown zucchini and tomatoes, and a bran muffin. I did the pilates class and will get a walk in before picking my DD from the bus stop.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
09-16-2008, 01:21 PM
Have 1 job thing to do this morning. All set for Monday though to start at the motel *eyes roll*. Rach was cute , she asked if I was nervous....hahaha. If i can survive my last job I can survive anything. I mean my last job was extreme stress, this'll be easy peasy.
Cristina - Happy to hear you and Char talked it out, that always helps. It takes a village to raise a child, those kids need you!! Especially Chase.....lol...psst, my trick is to drink a glass of wine, you can deal with any bad behavior tipsy! :D
Ya, that is a pink sweater Gab was wearing on her 2nd day of school, kind of old fashion with a zipper and 2 front pockets. I didn't notice she had zipped it all the way up til I saw the picture, it was actually warm that morning.
I asked "what about Nana??" and he said she is in ill health too. He wants Kris there but he can't find anyone to travel and be with him while Rocky is in the hospital. Kind of burns my butt...........because surely. His sisters had just been there twice this summer and are weathly. I can't believe they can't go over. If I could afford it I would be there.
Mindee- What is Brandon selling? How is your ankle?? I told you to stay away from the ice cream!!!! haha
Sassy- come back and chat!
k- out of here for a bit.
Hope you all have a great morning.
09-16-2008, 01:24 PM
awww, you snuck in Katy!!
Astoria is beautiful, it was socked in this morning w/ fog. We went to the beach yesterday afternoon and the sunset was so peaceful.
mmm, chocolate cake..sounds yummy. Men don't gain , do they?? lol
anyway - have a great morning , chat more later!
09-16-2008, 01:31 PM
I went and got my yearly "poke" and "prod" this morning. (physical exam) Everything seems okay and I have to get a bone density and mammo tomorrow. I did find out why I have felt like crapola...I have an ear infection AND a sinus infection. He prescribed a Zpack, so I should feel better soon.
Will get the results of the blood work later today.
Oh, and I discussed my weight loss trials with him...I discussed..he said "Just keep up what you have been doing and the weight will come off." LOL...
Oh well, off to fix a spot of lunch. I had to fast, so I am hungry.
09-16-2008, 01:47 PM
Hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We finally have cable & internet at home now!! YAY!!! I'm so happy. We still havent unpacked everything. We're being totally lazy about it too, lol. But ya..lol. I'm totally loving Maryland!! Its nice and warm here. And theres been lots and lots of sun!! Totally not depressing like crappy ol' Washington state. I feel so much more happier here. Plus, I love city life of course, lol. So thats also made me happy. Anyhoo..lots of stuff to catch up on. But will do it laters.
09-16-2008, 03:32 PM
There is Francie! Geez, lady I have been unpacked for 2 weeks now! Course I only went 90 miles :D. My momo finally made it past me last night when the door was open. I worried about him but after 20 minutes he was in the drive way rolling around, he let me pick him up and take him inside. I would be so sick if anything happened to him. Glad you are enjoying your new home!
Sue - hey....glad to hear your poke and prod went well :D..what was for lunch?
Katy - your breakfast sounded really good! I am still doing the banana & yogurt. I sneak ((from Gaby)) pancake and sausage on demand. haha.
Some *maybe* happy news. I applied at a retirement center for a part time dietary aide and he said it could be full time if I wanted to do some caregiving ((not like CNA or heavy duty bathing..lol......this is a retirment home, more like light cleaning and helping around their apt))along with that and I said YES....so, he wrote that down on my application and I have an interview in the morning. I would love to work with the elderly and it is a nice place...plus benefits and more in the line of work I have done. So, see if it pans out tomorrow. Cross Fingers!
 hi to everyone!
09-16-2008, 03:52 PM
Susan~We have a thousand boxes to unpack. Plus..since theres no washer & dryer hookups, we have to call some storage place to come pick them up for us. But we're having trouble finding one. Then the boxes are mislabled. The ones that ended up in the bedroom were really for the living room. Grrr..its just a big *** mess. We have the living, bedroom and kitchen unpacked though. Well..no i lied. We have the couch & entertainment center all nice and purdy in the living room, lol. And you know..we've been going out and exploring mostly every day..so ya..lol. Hopefully we'll get it done soon..cuz I'm sick of not knowing where the computer, toaster, mixing bowls..etc are. I need to BAKE!!!! LoL!!
09-16-2008, 04:18 PM
just popping in while both youngsters are napping and Brandon isn't home yet!
It is such a relief for both Logan and Marissa to be napping.......Brandon is the one that gets super cranky now that he is in school in the afternoons. It makes for an easier bedtime none the less. Today is my long day since Tommy has lodge, but somehow I will manage.
I am going to watch Biggest Loser tonight when it comes on. I find that if I don't watch it from the beginning of the season, I just can't get into it.
SuzieQ~ Yes, you told me to step away from the ice cream, and I guess that is my punishment! LMBO It is better today, still kind of sore, but I did manage to get my work out in. The fundraiser is the usual one with the christmas paper, food, calendars and that such.
I already got an email from my mom asking when the money is due, so I sent her an email back telling her and she said "well good....that gives me some time to order then. do you want me to email you with what I want to order?" I sent her an email back telling her that she can order it off the website as long as she kept the email with his seller id in it.
Francie~ It is so good to hear from you!!!! sounds like the move was just the thing you guys needed!
gotta cut this short, Logan is banging on the door to get out
09-16-2008, 05:24 PM
KATY..thank you for the kind words. I think, no I am pretty sure we all will make it, mind you there may be some bumps in the road along the way but we will be fine. Your omelet sounded so good...I am going to have to fix me one one of these days. You know, I have a facebook account but for the life of me can't remeber what it is, lol...when I find it I will let you know.
SUSAN...a sweater eh? Well, it is still cute! As is Gaby of course...can't believe she is in first grade already...her and Leigh both...they have grown too fast! Well, I feel bad for Rocky...someone should definitely be there for him. Still can't believe none of his family is. :( Keeping my fingers crossed for the job! :crossed: Sounds like a good one! Ha! I'm thinking next time some wine and then throw him in the backyard to fend for himself  I'm kidding of course. I would never do that. I think if we all just keep the communication open everything will be fine. I guess too, every time he comes over I need to give her a detailed report for the next few times to ensure he's not going home with lies-one of his big problems. Anyway...
SASSY...saw some of the damage and that was bad. Glad you guys are fine other than the car. And it's a good thing to put in a claim right away, or I think so. Hope all is well at work with you and the new girl.
FRANCIE...there you are missy! Glad to see you posting and :yay: to cable and the internet. But sorry everything is marked wrong...what a pain. Just take your time though...better to do it that way than to get stressed about doing it all at once. Glad you guys are enjoying your new hometown.
MINDEE...isn't it nice to have quiet time? I too plan on watching The Biggest Loser this evening...one of my favorite shows now. It truly inspires me to never quit! Even if I don't lose this weight fast, I know I will eventually and watching these people is just great. It's amazing to me to see how they change through out the show.
SUE...glad all went well at the doc's today. You reminded me that my mam is coming up soon, ugh. I know it's something we all have to do though. Hope you enjoyed your lunch!
HIYA TAMMY, JULES & ASIA!
Nothing much going on today...got my exercise done and I always feel better for doing it. Had some errands to run as well. Other than that, not much going on.
Have a great day!
09-16-2008, 07:06 PM
Nah, didn't enjoy lunch much. DH had pizza so I also took a piece about the size of the palm of my hand. It wasn't near enough...lol...but that is all I had. So now I had a salad and a piece of home made bread for dinner. Also a clementine. I know I will be hungry before bedtime. Rice cakes are already my planned snack.
The nurse called and told me my numbers were good except on my triglycerides. Doc wants me to try to bring those down. She said cool it on sweets and alcohol...which I already cooled. She also said watch calories and exercise...which I am doing. So, why are they so darn high? Ugh... Need to find a dietitian to straighten me out I think.
Hey Francie---Welcome back. Glad you are falling in love with your new home. Hope you get to meet Tammy and Jules.
09-17-2008, 12:28 AM
So...Fonzo did some unpacking. Well not really. He was looking for my computer and couldnt find it, lol. But he did unpack other things while he was doing that, lol.
We watched TBL tonight. It was pretty good. My mind started to wander during the 2nd half, lol. BUT we are gonna go to the base (aka the Naval Academy!!!) and check out the base. Ohhhhhhhhhhh ya.....we went to the mall the other day (omg, I wanna move into that mall, lol). And there was a LOT of soon to be officers there. They looked so nice in their whites. And YOUNG too. It made me think back to when Fonzo got home from boot camp all young and fresh faced, lol. He was only 19 at the time. So cute, lol. Now he's a salty sailor, lol.
OKay..my (other) man is gonna be on Leno. So ttyl!!
(oh ya..I LOVE watching my shows before the west coast does, lol)
09-17-2008, 12:58 AM
I am back now.......every body is in bed, should be sleeping......
my ankle is bothering me a little bit, so I am thinking of taking tomorrow off from doing my walking dvd....and maybe just doing some ab work.....so I feel like I did something.
Francie~ Which team are you rooting for? I am rooting for the Purple team because I went to school with Amy.
Cristina~ that is the exact reason that I watch it! so I see with my own eyes that doing it gradually makes it all more worth while. I hate the shows where they should someone over weight, and then in the blink of an eye they are toothpick skinny.
Sue~ How are you doing?
09-17-2008, 01:03 AM
mindee~omg you went to school with her?? no way!!! i dunno which team i'll be going for yet..maybe the pink and purple.
09-17-2008, 05:02 AM
Not much going on, just work.........:p One more night after tonight :carrot:..........hopefully anyways. We just got an email about mandatory training. I emailled my boss asking if I could possibly do it once I get back from vacation. :crossed:
 to anybody who may need a hug today!
09-17-2008, 02:29 PM
I am taking today off from my workout dvd because my ankle is bothering me again. I am going to put it up and put some ice on it here in a second.
we have Brandon's curriculum night tonight....hopefully our neighbor remembers that she said that she would watch the kids for us. other wise it will just be Tommy going to it.
Francie~ Yup, I went to school with Amy C. She graduated the year before me. And we were in choir together.
Sassy~ How did the email go? I hope you can do it after your vacation time!
09-17-2008, 02:52 PM
I'll take the hug  Sassy, thanks!!
I am so distracted, forgive me for just doing a fly by. Yesterday I was so spacey I left my wallet at the library, didn't even notice it til I got to the grocery store to buy some food. Ugh, that was scary, but at least a kind person handed it in.
I did the interview this morning. Sounds like I have the caregiving/personal care position. He needs to get 2 personal references first to make sure I don't abuse seniors...those are my words. lol I don't abuse anyone,,,,haha. The dietary aide lady said by Monday, I don't have til Monday though. We'll see. ...the personal care guy said it would take him 2 days and I guess if I was offered that I would skip the motel thing, not sure. I just see more of a future at a retirmement center over a motel.
My mother had a hissy fit and said "now Susan,,,,what are you doing at this motel??" and I replied cleaning and she said "oh, no.....you have too much experience and you didn't leave your family to clean motel rooms"....
Course I hung up the phone feeling like 2 feet tall (no offense to all the short people out there.....lol)....I didn't *leave* my family and any decent job is worth doing and Gaby is the priority and if the hours allow me to be there for her..... what else matters??? I think we all know what a f-ing *career* job did to me, I was burnt out from the stress.
Mindee- cool that you know Amy! I will have to watch now. Hope your ankle is feeling better.
Sue - I watched Racheal Ray last night, I don't think that woman knows how to make a low cal meal. lol It is kind of fun to watch, I think cheese is a must in any of her recipes..haha
Cristina - Drink the wine and throw the kid in the backyard! lol Trust me once you drink the merlot you won't care where the kid ends up. lmbo....awww, jk!!
Francie - Happy Unpacking and a big YAY to internet, we missed you.
Sassy- Hope you get out of the meeting!! :)
k- better get going, the days go by so fast. Did make 145.8 this morning , so whoop-de-do.....:carrot:
09-17-2008, 05:26 PM
SUSAN...hugs to you missy  And shame on your momma for making you feel 2ft tall. You just gotta find the right job for you, doesn't matter what it is. And you didn't leave your family...your just a couple hours away...not like you moved across the country. Hey, I think I will just give the kid the wine, lol. I'm kidding of course, about all that.
MINDEE...that is so cool you went to school with Amy! I know it is kinda early but I am liking the pink & purple team. No offense to the green team, but I am glad they went because they were too cocky for me. Just right off the bat saying we are going to be the biggest loser. And then seeing them sitting on their booty and laughing. I don't know, just rubbed me the wrong way. Kind of rooting for the orange team too and glad they didn't go. What was shocking me was the biological ages they said some were...that was sad. Anyway, hoping your ankle is better and yes! Make sure you rest!
FRANCIE...sounds like you guys are definitely finding your way around, and liking it! You talk about the young sailors like you are so old, lol. But I bet they did look handsome in their uniforms.
SASSY...hoping you get to do the mandatory training after your vacation. :crossed:
Not a lot going on with me...who would have thought it would take three freakin' hours to make a new playlist for myspace?! :yikes: I just wanted to get it done and over with but geez, what a pain. Glad I did my exercise this morning.
Sorry this is sort of a quickie...spent too much time doing other things I am feeling a little rushed now. Darn washer is beeping like crazy.
Take care
09-17-2008, 05:46 PM
Children open windows for us," Sandy Sasso says, "or can crawl through windows that we can't crawl through, and they open part of our life that maybe has been dormant for a long time." The rest is mystery, and our children will help us embrace that more joyfully too.
I loved that quote! And it doesn't say anything about wine, children must be a blessing afterall. lol
Cristina - awww, thanks. I am feeling better, just in a pms state of mind, maybe? wow, on your 3 hour playlist chickie! lol
I did step on the scale because I am anal ..and was pleased to see 145.4! yee haw.
My mom is a pill, I don't know why I let her get to me so easliy.
I heard from this other part time (actually only 10 hours a week) position w/ the city. It is managing the community center. You schedule events , take rental monies and make sure the place is stocked, it pays good...enough to bring in $450 a month, flexible...I bet I could even take Gaby with me..... it is easy $$$$, I interview in the morning. So, every thing is up in the air....just think time will tell me what the heck I am doing.
09-17-2008, 11:30 PM
Susan~Mothers are just like that. LoL!! My mom used to take Fonzo's side a lot when it came to me working, lol.
Mindee~Sorry about the ankle. When I read that you put ice on it, I thought it said that you put ice cream on it, LOL!!! I need to get my eyes checked again.
Cristina~I AM old!!!! LoL!!! Those guys are probably 3 or 4 years younger than me. I wanna be 17 again!!!!!!!! They did look so handsome in their uniforms. Makes me so proud to know that my hubby is a sailor, and will be working at the Naval Academy. I love all the awesome Naval history there is there. I wish Fonzo wasnt so bitter about the Navy. He sometimes ruins it for me, lol. Like, let me be proud of you damn it!!! LOL!!!
OKay..We took a seriously long nap and missed dinner..so I'm gonna go and find something to eat, lol. TTYL!!!
09-18-2008, 01:26 AM
well, I think the not sitting still for too long has caught up with me.....my ankle is still hurting. It felt fine when I had it elevated on a pillow while sitting on the couch, but now it seems to throb if I don't have it on the pillow...or at least elevated. not to mention, I am getting another headache..........so it will definitely be an early night again for me!
SuzieQ~ Good luck with the job interview!!! This makes, four or five jobs now? See......you were living in a rut, now that you moved, you are getting job opportunities left and right!
sorry to cut this short, but I am off to take some motrin and then heading to bed.
09-18-2008, 02:15 AM
Well I came in to a surprise tonight at work. The girls I work with decorated my cube with streamers, balloons, etc.........and bought me presents (perfume and bath and body stuff!) and even bought me cake! It was so sweet........:)
So tonight is my last night..........then at 9:30 am, my vacation begins! YES! :D :woohoo: :cheer2: :cheer3: :carrot: :celebrate: :woo::woo:
What r we doing? Not sure.......just gonna be taking it day by day..........all our friends wanna hang out with us because usually when I'm off, they are all working and vice versa...........
and I think that for my bday/anniversary present to myself this year I am going to get me and my DH a gym membership again. :trampo::lifter::swim::exercise:We had one a couple years back and then stopped due to financial. I mean I know that I can exercise at home or just take a walk, but I just need some serious exercise because well I just need it! lol. Plus I can do both, work out at home and the gym too.........I just wanna get motivated!!!
My DH has had his 2nd interview and I am extremely hopeful that he will be getting this job and he so wants to go and work out and swim and all, sooooooo that is what I want to do. Also my coworker that I work with every night, all night long wants to do the WL thing with me, so we can encourage one another and that is important. I mean this site is great, but to have support IRL as well is extremely important...........................;)
09-18-2008, 02:33 AM
sassy~ that is so great!!!! and for the gym membership, that is even better! there is a gym not that far from us, but I am not sure how much their memberships are.
09-18-2008, 11:47 AM
Hey just real quick cuz we gotta return some dvds to blockbuster...
We're getting another kitty on tuesday!! This one might either be full or half maine coon!!! It's a female kitten, and I hear that she's friendly. I'm sooooooooooo excited. This will be our last cat for sure, lol.
09-18-2008, 01:03 PM
Yippy Skippy..:carrot:....made it past goal overnight, weighed at 143.4 this morning. And I was on and off the scale several times to be sure. hehe
I woke up w/ a head cold too.
Rocky called and he will have his sister & mother ((from California)) there for him at the hospital afterall! Thank goodness, he will take Kris w/ him now for the trip over since his sister can be w/ him. I am so glad.
Mindee- How is the ankle this morning??
Sassy- yay for the vacation!!
Francie - awww, I want another kitty too. I let Momo go out this morning and he came right back after 20 or so minutes.
I better go! Tons to do, bbl when I have more time!
09-18-2008, 01:12 PM
Good morning ladies- Good news abounds in here today. Everyone sounds very happy! Yay for all of us!
I have been taking it easy due to my infections and feeling loopy on the allergy meds. I am hoping the antibiotics kick the ear ache soon. I feel like I am walking sideways...lol. I rode the bike a couple rounds last night , but one neighbor was blowing junk into the street and another was burning. My head couldn't take the dust or smoke. Today the street cleaner came by, so I am going to enjoy the ride without dodging limbs and nuts.
Not doing a darn thing however, except laundry. I can manage that even if I am walking into walls. Hahaha.
Mindee- sorry about your ankle..you might need it looked at.
Susan- Yay for all the job options.
Francie- Good luck on the new kitty. Glad you like your new home. I didn't know Fonzo didn't like the Navy. That is too bad...how long is he in for?
Sassy- Hooray for a celebration at work and a vacation. Enjoy!!
Cristina- Had to laugh at giving the kid the wine. No, you are supposed to enjoy that! I have a step-son and step-grands. Let me tell you, it is hard...and you feel un-appreciated for all you do. Sometimes I wanted to throw my hands up in the air and walk away. (and probably did..lol) But once it all smooths out it can be rewarding. Usually if you stop and look at it objectively the problem is not due to the kids...it is the adults in their lives. Kids have been trained to act the way they do. They have to be re-trained. (which is tough if the other g-ma is the culprit) Hang in there!
Katy- Hey, your pickles look good. Have you done any drive-by veggie tossing yet? LOL. (just trying to give you an idea on how to get rid of them)
Asia..Tammy...Jules...Hello to you ladies also. Hope things are good in your neck of the woods.
edited to ad: Susan, I am so glad Rocky is not alone today. I feel much better for him now. Still he is in my thoughts and prayers.
09-18-2008, 02:22 PM
popping in here quickly..........
I am sitting at the table with my leg up and some ice on it. I would go get it looked at but our insurance doesn't go into affect until October 1st. So, I am taking it easy and not too any more then I have to.
Francie~ That is so exciting!!! a friend of ours has a Maine coon cat. She is really friendly and very soft and fluffy!
SuzieQ~ Great job on getting past goal overnight!!!! My ankle is still hurting, but I am icing it now. I meant to do it last night but I didn't get a chance to. That is so good to hear that Rocky will have his mom and sister there with him.
Ugh, I am wanting to go to the doctor! These allergies are killing me! Can't go out without coming back in feeling icky. I mowed the front yard and now my head is stopped up and the doc is not in on Thursday darn it! Going to call tomorrow to see if I can get in and get something stronger because the claritin and benadryl are not working.
FRANCIE...you tell Fonzie to let you be proud of him, lol. Josh was like that about the Army. He had days he loved it and others he wanted out. But he had planned on making a career of it until he met Char. Yay to a new kitty! :yay: Is this the fourth? What will you name it? And what do you think the other kitties will think? Just full of questions aren't I? :) Bet it is a cutie pie!
SASSY...that was sweet of your co-workers. Now was that for your BD? And how long are you going to be on vacation? I know you said before, just too lazy to go back andl ook, lol. Well, whatever you guys do...enjoy your vacation!
SUSAN...yay to yet another job! Girly, how the heck are you going to choose with so many to choose from? And they all sound good to me! You are welcome...I am the same way...I let things my mom say get to me. Or did...she's better now because we had some long talks. She slips every now and again but I truly think she is trying now. I think they mean well but at the same time forget we are grown adults. I am so glad to hear that Rocky will have some family with him afterall...no one should go to the hospital and have surgery alone. And YES! Children are a blessing! Love that quote.
MINDEE...sure hope your ankle gets better soon. Don't let it get too bad, insurance or not. The Army made Josh go ahead to basic when he had twisted his ankle bad and it did not heal right and he has problems with it once in a while. So be careful missy.
SUE...ick to the dust and smoke! Hope you are able to ride later with the clean streets and air! I have felt exactly like that several times with the step-g-kids. actually with just Chase. And I am trying my best to not hold it against him the last time he was here. I'm hoping that between Josh & Charlotte he will be lot's better when they come over next, we'll see.
HIYA JULES, KATY, TAMMY & ASIA...hoping all is well with you.
Not much going on with me. Did my grocery shopping this morning and then mowed the front yard. Going to do a 40 minute dvd later and call it good for the exercise. Was going to take a free day today since I got a late start. But I am finding it very hard to not exercise, at least for 30-40 minutes. I have been doing a Susan ;) and weighing every day and am happy to say I am down to 180.4, that's 2 pounds since Saturday's WI...I changed the weight Monday or Tuesday when it was 181 so...here's hoping it stays at that or even down another pound. :crossed: I would love to see the 170's even if it is something like 179.8 Probably just jinxed myself now
Hoping everyone is having a GREAT day!
09-19-2008, 01:21 AM
well, I put some ice on it yester day afternoon, and it has been better since I did that. I am about to do it again here shortly after I make Tommy's lunch and cut up the watermelon that our neighbor gave us.
Sassy~ Have fun on your vacation!
Cristina~ I have been taking it easy. I haven't worked out since Tuesday and right now, I don't plan on it either until my ankle feels better. I joined a challenge with Leslie Sansone that starts on the 29th of this month, so I am going to take it easy until then. God willing, and the crick don't rise.
09-19-2008, 02:21 AM
Hola! We went out with friends and ate at Outback Steakhouse........Haven't been there in a long time! Then we went back to our friends house and watched a movie, Mr. Brooks with Kevin Costner..........pretty good.........
Cristina -- It was both for my bday AND my Anniversary. I will be off until September 28th. ;) We're not going anywhere, just bummin' around our "city" we would have gone away if DH had not had gotten fired, but thats ok.......we'll go away another time. :)
Mindee -- Thanks! :D
Well tata all! I am tired (yes this coming from a "Nightshifter") I purposely went to bed late today and then DH woke me up a few hrs after so yes I am tired and ready to go to bed now!! Gonna be weird getting up and its gonna be daylight!!! :sunny: LOL!
09-19-2008, 01:55 PM
popping in here shortly before heading off to take a shower.....
Sassy~ That is so nice that you got to have a relaxing night without having to worry about anything!
09-19-2008, 02:20 PM
Lovely morning here, sunny and Fall-like. I am still feeling kind of wonky in the head due to allergies and infections. I hope it eases up soon. I did go out and ride 2 miles. Thought if I did it before the dad's in the neighborhood get home I might avoid all the grass mowing and burning. It did help greatly.
My weight is still holding..below the dreaded 170, so I guess the brownie I ate and the Olive Garden this week was okay. I tried to watch calories even though I was eating something I shouldn't. Only soup, salad and bread at OG, and the brownie was low-fat. So I think I squeaked through on those. LOL..
Nothing going on here for the week-end, how about you? DH is cooking out tomorrow, chicken breasts and I am making a veggie of some sort. Otherwise we have no plans.
09-19-2008, 03:06 PM
MINDEE...hoping your ankle is better soon! It should be better by the 29th for sure.
SASSY...Okay...I figured that was what it was for but wasn't sure if I missed your BD or not. I bet it is odd getting used to a regular schedule with always working nights. Definitely would be different. Anyway, enjoy your time off.
SUE...glad you were able to get your biking in. I wish I were able to go out and come back in without sneezing my head off. I'm not letting it stop me but it sure is a pain. I haven't had OG in ages...I bet it was good!
HIYA SUSAN, FRANCIE, KATY, JULES, TAMMY, ASIA and anyone reading this
Nothing much going on today, or the weekend. Did go for my walk this morning. It wasn't too bad...luckily the wind wasn't blowing. But I know it will be bad when I mow later. Plan on taking some tylenol severe allergy before I do it. Couldn't do it this morning because the grass was wet from the dew till mid-morning. And the wind will be blowing later. Need to find one of those masks to cover my nose and mouth. Had a couple of errands to run and nothing planned other than doing a load or two of laundry. Trying to finish up my book and get started on another. Hoping to get more than 5 read this month. I started out good and then slacked off...but I am still making my goal of 3-4 for the month so that's good enough.
Susan...my thoughts are with Rocky today. When you know something please let us know how he is doing.
Have a good day!
09-19-2008, 05:52 PM
I wrote a post yesterday and lost it, how frustrating!
My head cold kept me miserable all night until I bought some Tylenol cold med today, so I am feeling better.
Rocky did call last night and I had an email from his sister. His surgery started at 7:30 Hawaii time and should be over or ending now. His sister was suppose to send out an email or I could call Kris but I don't want to do that. *sigh...he will be fine, I am sure.
Had the interview for the catering position this morning, the one on the military base,,,did I mention this before?? lol....anyway, we'll wait and see what happens. Thinking I will just go w/ the motel because it keeps me available to Gaby and offers the medical. I mean that is the most important thing, right? Oh.............and paying bills. lol
anyway, sorry for no indy's right now, I slept most of the day away and need to pick up gaby now....chat more later!
09-19-2008, 06:19 PM
just popping in quickly.....
Brandon has learned two new things to say.........He can now say Brandon when you ask him what his name is. And then if you ask him what his middle name is, he will tell you Thomas. Although when he says Thomas, it sounds more like dumba$$ but he is at least saying it so that is a HUGE breakthrough for him.
09-19-2008, 07:40 PM
This week was a busy one...Teri went to NYC and Hubby, me and the babysitter took care of the little guy--boy am I tired and then I had to work today....
God news though--first weigh in at WW and I am down 3 1/2 pounds!!!!
09-19-2008, 10:21 PM
Back again for a few minutes...everyone is gone for the evening so it's just me and Ernie dog.
JULES...:bravo: to the 3 1/2 pounds gone! That is wonderful news! Hope Teri enjoyed her visit to NYC!
MINDEE...kind of funny about Brandon saying Thomas  He'll learn soon enough.
SUSAN...hope you heard something about Rocky by now. Hugs to you and especially him.
Chat tomorrow sometime...think I will take this opportunity to get some reading done. Nighty, night ladies
09-20-2008, 07:55 AM
Yup I just got up opposed to be still being up. Very strange being on a "dayshift" schedule..........It took my body a couple of days to "adjust" but now I think I've got it.........I think we're going out today. DH and his friend rode their motorcycles out to an Amish bakery and DH wanted to take me, said its a nice drive and that the bakery is amazing. Yeah, I know, a bakery is the last place that I should be going, but hey, its my vacation, and my bday and 10 yr. Anniversary next week, so yeah not too worried about my diet right now. Not that I am gonna overdo it, but ya know...........;)
You know this will sound strange but it was so nice having a "normal" day yesterday. I got up, made my DH breakfast, did dishes, cleaned up a bit, it was just a nice feeling doing things that "normal people" do. After working nights for 2 1/2 yrs now, it was a nice change of pace. Its weird what we take for granted and once we no longer do those things anymore and then have a chance to do them again, well it just makes you appreciate things a lot more. I think I am definitely tired of working nights, but, if my DH gets this new job he has had two interviews for, he will be on nights as well, so won't be a good time for me to change shifts.........But maybe someday, it is wearing on me + working the long shifts, it just takes it out of you. My fil mentioned something about me working part time or even 8 hr shifts, I just was like, "Wow 8 hr shifts........wow.....that would be so nice...." So we'll see. Maybe if my DH gets this job and it goes well, maybe by next year I can begin looking for a new job or maybe a part-time position will open up at my current one............who knows? Well sorry to have rambled on.....but it has just been on my mind a lot recently..........
Was up bright and early for my morning walk. Did half of it because my head is stopped up and feeling crappy. Tried to lay back down and go back to sleep, but just couldn't so I got up. Going to hit the treadmill in a few minutes...then I have the Biggest Loser dvd to do and weights. Other than that not much going on with me today...will work in the yard later and just read. For once I plan on reading all day...going to finish up with this book (The Last Time They Met...Anita Shreve) and then read Big Boned by Meg Cabot.
Have a GREAT weekend!
09-20-2008, 03:47 PM
Good Morning -
No word on Rocky yet, now I am worried. I might call this afternoon if I don't get an email from his sister.
Cristina - I like your Christmas challenge ticker! Christmas will come so fast, I can't believe it is just around the corner. Yay, for getting out there and doing the exercise so early in the day! btw - what is the book about?
Mindee- haha about how Brandon pronounces Tommy. Sometimes w/ Gaby's speech she will (I think) say naughty words when she isn't.....it is kind of cute.
Jules- :cheer2::cheer3::cheer2::cheer3: on the 3 1/2 pounds! Good for you.
Sassy - working nights I hear is so hard, you deserve a day shift!! Hope you get that day schedule soon :)
hi to everyone else......in my usual funky mood, so not too chatty. I am lowering my weight goal again to 138, that way I can bounce from 138 to 140.......once I get there of course. lol -duh.
Hope you all have a great Saturday!
09-20-2008, 09:03 PM
Hey ya'll, just stopping in to let you know that I'm still around. Had an extremely busy week and worked all 5 days in a row. Exhausted me when I'm used to just 3-12 hr shifts a week. Then they had the nerve to call me this morning and ask if I wanted to work today!! Notta!! Sounds like everyone is having problems with their allergies....ditto here. It didn't help that I did yard work for several hrs today, trimming hedges and pulling up dead annuals. My nose dripped the entire time. Then spent the rest of the day making 3 different bridal veils for my future DIL. I'm afraid that the one she originally wanted will not match her dress. So now she had 3 to choose from. All different tulle and lengths.
Going to a Balto Raven's game tomorrow. Never been to a football game. DH got 8th row 48 yd line seats that included a parking pass. We are taking a few friends with us. DH got the tickets from a vendor that he works with. :D
Weather has been great. I haven't been back to WW due to traveling to MIL last week. Hopefully will get back there this week before heading out of town for future DIL shower next weekend.
Francie--If you think the Annap Mall is great, you gotta check out Arundel Mills. It's about 30 min. from Annap. I was there on Fri on my way home from work. It has a ton of different stores than Annap. If you need directions, give me a yell. Yes, I do agree that the Naval Academy cuties sure look handsome at the mall. The weekends are loaded with them ;)
Sassy--I was at Outback last night also. Haven't been there in ages.
Mindee--Hope you ankle feels better.
Jules--Congrats on the 3/2 lbs! :carrot:
Cristina--I still hear Justin complaining about the CG but he complains about any authority period. He continues to claim that he is staying in and doing his 20 yr.
Hugs  to everyone else. I'm achy from all the yardwork and crawling around the floor in my living room working on those veils (the only place to get away from the dogs). A hot shower is calling me. Ah crap.....I just remembered that I stripped the sheets off my bed and washed them and need to remake it. I think I'll go grab dh and make him help me :D
09-20-2008, 10:43 PM
Quick "hi" and "good-bye" from me. I got in a 3 mile ride and my sinus/allergy is doing better.
Otherwise, not a terrific day here today....but "stuff" happens.
See you all later.
09-21-2008, 01:06 AM
Hey all..nothing much is new with me. Had an unpleasent day of unpacking. Dont really wanna talk about it. Fonzo checks in today (sunday). So while he's gone I'm gonna clean up the kitchen & bathroom.
So we're watching LOTR: Two Towers right now. We checked it out from the library, lol. So ya..I'm gonna go then.
Tammy...I will totally check out that mall!!! We went to this other mall called Murphy mall..or something with a M. LOL!!! I cant remember now. But we bought some sheesh there. Gotta go back and get some more. OHH..it was called Marely mall??
OKay...I'm off now. Laters.
09-21-2008, 02:26 AM
All I can say is I hope AF comes soon because I was very witchy yesterday and I have no idea why! Although I did find something from the past, that came back to haunt us........but this time it seemed more to calm me then aggravate me.
a quick update on Brandon's speech. In just the short time since he said his names on Friday, he has gotten so much better and they are all coming out clearer now! In fact, we even tried him with saying our last name. It was rough at first, but he is getting it! Now, I am so excited about his ENT appointment this coming Thursday.
sorry to make this short......but we had a BBQ and bonfire last night and I am so tired.
09-21-2008, 08:35 AM
Mindee---great new's about Brandon. I get witchy myself sometimes...hubby usually informs me just in case I can't tell...too bad he only gets madder when I tell him he is being an arse...
Francie--glad you made it to MD safe and sound--I was enjoying your traveling pics on MySoace but somehow I lost you....
Sue--glad the allergies are a little better--my neck is still killing me..
Tammy-the weather has been great--you sure are a busy gal with this wedding stuff...
SuzyQ--140 sounds great--it's my ultimate goal....I will be jumping for joy if I can get back to 175 which is where I landed after gaining all the weight with Teri's pregnancy in the first place. Hope Rocky is ok
Cristina--I can't believe Christmas is coming so fast--Dominic will be a year old in January. I'm reading The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx
Sassy--Happy bday/anniversary--I really need to write down everyone's bday and address
Well the boy's up...gotta go...
09-21-2008, 11:26 AM
Good morning, ladies...
JULES...I don't think I have heard of Nikki Six, will have to check it out. I need some different reading for sure. Yeah, Christmas will be here before you know it, ugh. Can't beleive that Dominic is going to be one already...the year is definitely going by too fast!
MINDEE...I think we all get a little witchy at that time of the month. I don't even have an AF the majority of the time, which really is kinda nice. But a lot of the times I still get the symptoms...get the cravings and the witchy-ness for sure! Yay to Brandon :yay:
SUSAN...have you heard anything about Rocky, how he is doing? Hugs to you missy  The book is okay so far...didn't get it finished, was too busy with other stuff. I really don't care for books that start from 'now' and then go back. It starts with the woman being 52 and then 26 and then 17.
FRANCIE...sorry the unpacking is not going so good. Of course it is a major pain-period. But look at the bright side, once it's done your place will be all nice and together and you won't have to worry about it for a while, hopefully. I bet the malls are GREAT there! I would love to be in a bigger city...I think. There is nothing here...if you want good shopping you have to drive 3 1/2 hours.
TAMMY...Josh is the same way as your Justin, lol. Surprised me when he said he joined the Army. I think the Army is the worst. When we went to bootcamp I wanted to tell some of the SGT ummm, back off. They treat them like crap. But then I know that is supposed to be part of the training...break them down to build them back up. I think if Josh would have joined the Airforce or something else he would have stayed regardless...who knows. Sounds like you have been a busy little bee. Completely forgot you went to visit MIL...hope you guys enjoyed the visit.
SUE...hi & bye  WTG on the 3 mile bike ride! Hope your allergies are better, mine sure are thank goodness.
SASSY...how was the bakery? Did ya get anything good? Hope you are enjoying your vaction!
HIYA ASIA...hoping all is well with you and we hope to see ya posting soon.
HIYA KATY...hoping all is well with you too!
Hoping I didn't forget anyone, sometimes feel like I have.
Not much going on today. Was up early again for my walk...was actually really nice. But I am feeling sleepy now, lol. Thinking I will go lay down as soon as the washer stops...throw those in the dryer and start another load and then sleep some. I want to read...didn't finish the book as planned. But I will today for sure. But I have to be rested or I will start dozing.
Couldn't think of a challenge for myself so thought I would do a 10 pound one, sort of goal. I hate doing any kind that has to do with the weight because I feel like I am setting myself up to fail. It always seems like I do. But thought, what the heck. If I can't lose 10 pounds in 3 months I might as well quit, lol. Nah, I will never quit, no matter what. I am bound and determined to make it to 160 at least. Of course that is my sort-of-goal. I don't have a set goal I am aiming for. Figured once I got there I would decide...who knows, my body might like 160. Haven't been that low since who knows when so we'll see. Anyway...
Hoping everyone has a lovely Sunday!
09-21-2008, 11:32 AM
Sassy- Happy Birthday and Anniversary! Hope you are enjoying your vacation
Jules- now that book sounds interesting!
Susan- sounds like a good goal, you've done such a great job so far, I'm sure you'll make this one, too. I would love to get to 140...I'm just taking it a day at a time, sigh. Did you ever hear from Rocky? Hope he's ok.
Mindee - yay on Brandon's speech! That was cute about "Thomas" Hope you can get some rest today.
Francie- good luck with the unpacking..yuck. Hope it goes fast. We're all big LOTR geeks around here...saw them all in the theatre. TT seemed like it was just one long battle...
Sue - Sorry you had a bad day..hope today is a better one for you
Tammy..are your allergies getting better? I get all drippy when I have to dust..yeesh. All my allergies improved when I cut out dairy...I don't know why that worked, but it did and I can't complain.
Cristina - hope you are feeling better. How's the book? I read the Pilot's Wife ages ago and didn't like it too much, but my friends tell me that her other books are better.
I am so sore! I hit the gym yesterday morning, then spent several hours in the afternoon replanting the front beds. They look great, but my poor body is aching. Today is a busy one, church picnic, DS to Lego Robotics, then soccer pictures, dinner at IL's. DH's aunt and uncle are in town. Busy, busy busy. I could use more time in the yard to day, but I don't think I'm going to get it.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well and that the allergies are letting up!
09-21-2008, 11:33 AM
Hey Cristina! You snuck in on me! :)
09-21-2008, 02:08 PM
Katy & Cristina--Nikki Sixx was the cute guitar player in Motely Crue--used to love them..then got sober and quit doing the other bad stuff I used to do....the book is interesting to say the least...back to laundry....
09-21-2008, 02:20 PM
Thanks for the well wishes. Well we went to the Amish Bakery yesterday, it was neat, they had lots of things there, not just food! :) They had furniture, a mini-log cabin, gazebos, childrens playground stuff that was cool, it was awesome and as DH said, an awesome drive up there, very pretty. We stopped and Great Steak and Potato after, as we both haven't had that in a long time, we only each ate 1/2 our sandwich and 1/2 a small fry. I told him, "We are pathetic, maybe next time we should order a "Happy Meal"" in which he replied to me, "you still wouldn't finish that either." Ahhh it was a good feeling though. :)
Cristina -- Sorry to hear you felt bad. :( I felt bad yesterday before we left, then once I got out and go moving, I felt better. :) Good Luck with your 10 pound Christmas Goal! ;)
Susan -- Thanks yes as much as I would like a "dayshift" schedule, as I said, if DH gets the job he just had a 2nd interview for, he will be working nights too and so therefore, I need to stay on nights, plus I get paid more $$. ;)
Tammy -- Yeah Outback was a nice change even though I hardly ate enough to justify it! lol. Wedding stuff sounds nice....I think yardwork has to be some of the best exercise there is! Now we don't have a yard to do at our apt, but we do help my in-laws out once in a while and phew!! It is a great workout!!! :carrot:
Hi Sue, bye Sue!!!
Francie -- UGH I HATE unpacking!! Packing, I can handle, but the unpacking...stinks!!! lol.
Mindee -- I wish my AF would go away and come back NEXT week!~ GRR! Why does she always have to ruin things! lol. Its just like that commercial on tv, I think its for Playtex tampons or something, where the AF comes to ruin peoples honeymoon, vacations, etc....it is so true! lol. WTG Brandon!! :D
Katie -- Thanks. Bday is Wed and Anniversary is Friday, hard to believe we've been married 10 yrs. I know that is only a "drop in the bucket" for some folks, but its our "first big" milestone.....;) Not too excited about turning another year older.......but whatcha gonna do?
As I said to Tammy, yardwork is some of the toughest exercise!!! If we all did that everyday we'd probably all be toothpicks! lol. Hope you can get you some rest after you run around like a :chicken: with your head cut off! lol!!!

Waiting for friends to get here and then we are off to the game. I did my mom's grocery shopping early this moring. Between the allergy meds and my dogs deciding that potty time has changed to 1:00 a.m., I'm sleepy but I'm sure the yelling at the game will keep me awake.
Francie--I live about 3 miles from Marley Mall. It used to be the best mall around but has dropped off the favorite list. If you came down Ritchie Hwy/Rt 2....you drove directly by my house in Severna Park. You will like Arundel Mills. Take 50 west to 97 north then 100 west. An easy drive and that mall is huge with a ton of restaurants and other stores surrounding it.
Friends are on the way...gotta go. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!
09-21-2008, 02:27 PM
Hey Sassy, we were typing at the same time. Yes, my arms and thighs are sore. I'm popping Motrin like candy!! I do believe you burn a ton of cal doing yardwork because every gardener I've ever seen was skinny.
09-21-2008, 05:12 PM
OMG! JULES...that's where I heard the name, lol. I know who he is because that is who Kat VonD is dating, lol. Just didn't know he wrote book. Just didn't click...airhead sometimes for sure.
KATY...good to see you posting. Was wondering where you were off to. I too read the Pilot's Wife and wasn't thrilled with it, it was okay though. This one is okay as well. I have read some of her books and they are good...and still have more. But I have to take her in small doses...can't read a lot all at once. Sounds like you are one busy woman.
SASSY...glad the Amish Bakery was a nice outing for you guys.
TAMMY...enjoy the game!
Hi again to everyone else
Was at the computer typing some things up and thought I would come b and say Hi...didn't realize the time though and need to get some lunch!
09-21-2008, 05:36 PM
just popping in here......
we had intentions of going through Marissa's clothes but we just hung around and gabbed with some friends.....then Marissa went to lay down so we are out on that one. I will try and get to it sometime during this week..........hopefully!
09-21-2008, 10:32 PM
Okay, so it takes me weeks and weeks to lose a pound or two. Then I can put it back on in 2 days?...I don't think so. I did over eat just a tad, but not THAT much.
So, today I was good (after seeing the scales) and passed up brownies and ice cream. I rode 2 miles...so we will see what this week brings. I know I have to step up the exercise, and I am counting yardwork today. I dug up all my irises and some other plants. Re-did some beds and cleaned up some debris.
Other problems still abound, so another not so good day. *fingers crossed* and prayers needed.
Indies tomorrow.... Thinking of you all.
09-22-2008, 12:17 AM
Tammy - from your lips to God's ears, lol! I spent about three hours this weekend working my a$$ off in the yard. Dh hauled off a half ton of yard debris..and I pitched most of that into the back of the truck myself. Ibuprofen, here I come!
Jules - I remember Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue...makes me feel like an old broad. Remember when Tommy Lee was married to Heather Locklear? Gee, wonder what happened to that marriage...hee hee
Cristina..glad to see your weekend is going well. I'm sorry I don't get on as regularly as i would like. Life has a way of intruding...
Mindee - give that baby a hug...
Sue - I hear you! My DH baked his awesome yummy chocolate chip cookies today and I indulged in several. Ok - 6...but they were smallI did pass on the pie and ice cream at our family dinner this evening, and I stuck to salad and chicken, no bread or rice. One of the nutritionists thats working with our weight loss group keeps telling us that "You can out eat any exercise" I need to write that down and put it on my fridge because I never remember it when I really need to.
Hi to everyone else! Can you believe it? I made it here twice today. I did get another big load in the truck today..that had to burn off some of those cookies, lol! Now I am going to get some tea and ibuprofen and watch The Rachel Zoe Project on my ipod before I go to bed. Great fashion po*n, if any of you are interested in that sort of thing. I also checked out Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style so I will definitely be getting my fashion fix in tonight and tomorrow. I can't afford fashion, but I can live vicariously!
09-22-2008, 01:36 AM
stopping by while checking my email and relaxing a little bit before going to bed. Tommy wanted some cookies, so I just got done baking them. now I am checking my email and then heading to bed.
Brandon has his ENT appointment this coming Thursday at 11am. And then on Friday, he has school pictures!
speaking of ice cream, my neighbor bought me some ice cream. she bought me some light low calorie ice cream. Now, I have to work on cutting out the ice cream/pops and other things that are bad for me. So, I am going to really kick myself into high gear and work on that this week!
Sue~ I hope the other problems get resolved soon, and I am sending you some prayers.
Katy~ I will definitely give him a hug for you! We are just in awe that this is the same little kid that at the beginning of this year, was basically using pointing/gesturing and grunting to communicate with us.
09-22-2008, 10:08 AM
Good morning everyone!! Today is my first day home alone. YAY!!! LoL!!!
Sassy~There are so many Amish stores in PA. I didnt get the chance to go to one while I was there for that week..so maybe not tomorrow, but the next time I'm there, my friend & I will go. I really want an Amish quilt. When I was little, I used to have an Amish doll. It didnt have a face, lol.
Tammy~Does Marely Mall have a Fredricks of Hollywood?? It seemed okay to me. Not really as huge as the Annapolis mall. Fonzo & I will probably be heading over there after payday. We should get together and have lunch sometime!!! Oh and you know..I think I live like 10 or 15 mins away from the Academy.
So does anyone wanna come over and wash my dishes?? We dont have a dishwasher and I dont feel like doing the dishes. And you know something else that sucks? We dont have hook ups for the W&D, right? So in order to do laundry...we have to go all the way to the basement and pay to use the washer & dryers. That is such crap. At least make it free ya know?
Anyhoo...Heroes comes on tonight!! YAY!!!! OKay...gonna go look at the kitchen and decide that I dont wanna wash the dishes, lol. BBL!!
09-22-2008, 12:23 PM
I am dashing to that motel job in a sec , so I don't have ANY time right now.
I did speak w/ Rocky yesterday and he made it through the surgery in good shape. He is just in a lot of pain at the moment, so pray that eases for him.
k- off I go......finally a working girl again...haha
09-22-2008, 01:09 PM
Hello, and a good Monday to all
SUSAN...hoping you have a good day on your first day back at work! And glad to hear R is on his way to healing.
Hoping everyone is having a good day, chat later
09-22-2008, 01:57 PM
a quick one from me right now........
all is quiet on this end, so I hope that means that Logan and Marissa are both napping! I am about to do some ab exercises on the floor since I forgot to pull out my workout clothes to do my workout dvd....so some is better then none, right?
Suz~ I hope that the pain starts to ease up for Rocky soon! I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
Sue~ I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers as well!
09-22-2008, 04:08 PM
Mindee- Quiet? Sometimes that means trouble. haha.. Seriously, enjoy the quiet time. Thanks for you prayers and well wishes.
Cristina- Sorry to hear that your dad is ill. Hope your trip is safe and that you find him in better health. Sounds like you will be busy for a few days.
Susan- Hope the first day of the new job went well. Is this the job with the good hours for being with Gaby? I am also praying for Rocky. The next few days will be hard for him I'm sure. I hope he recovers nicely.
Francie- Wow..no dishwasher? I would hate that. I still hand wash several things, but at least can load up the every day items and wash once a day or so. Sounds like you are enjoying the new area and getting to know the Malls. :)
Katy- I know I can out eat exercise. I think I have done it for years.....hence my size. LOL. My DH told me this morning he has never seen a person try so hard and lose so slowly. Ya think???
Sassy- Hope you are still enjoying yourself. And early Happy Birthday to you.
Tammy- I hope you enjoyed the game.
Jules and Asia. Hi to you both.
I have had a busy day. Monday laundry, you know, bedclothes. Then I cleaned the bathrooms, dusted and Swiffered. I rode 2 miles before it got hot and hope to ride more tonight. I also re-planted the irises where the darn squirrels dug them up from yesterday. Went to CVS, which is about 5 minutes away, ran into an old friend I used to work with...so gabbed a few minutes and back home. Now I am resting and trying to compose a blurb for the newspaper about DS's graduation from law school. I like being busy, so I am going back out into the yard to work for awhile.
Dinner is beans and corn bread (which I do not eat) and fried potatoes (which I love, but will bake mine instead) I am out of tea so have been drinking water all day...ugh..not my favorite thing.
By the way, when I weighed this morning I was still under 170...so the week-end scare was just that, a scare. :)
09-22-2008, 05:43 PM
Sue - good job staying under 170...i was so close to 170, now my little cookie binge has messed me up. So I am really watching it over the next few days.
Cristina - hope you have a nice visit with your family, so sorry your dad is not well. Hope he is comfortable and improving.
Susan - Congrats on the new job...hope you had a great first day!
HI to Mindee, Jules, Tammy, Sassy, Asia, and Francie. Hope you gals are having a great day. Francie - don't let the dishes get you down. I lived without a dishwasher in our duplex, and I kind of got used to it, believe it or not.
Well, I went over to Sparkpeople, where they have a lovely little feature where you can enter the ingredients in your recipe, then it will tell you how many calories are in each serving. DH's cookies are 216 calories!!! EACH!!! Dang! Of course, I should have figured that out when I got on the scale this morning and it said 178 :( so I I have tied my hands to the chair and keeping them out of the cookie jar. Oy. what a mess.
09-22-2008, 07:29 PM
I am back! I survived......work! yay...
I actually liked it. It is the motel job that is only 24 to 28 hours a week. It is basically the same hours when Gaby is at school. 2 of the days would be Sat and Sun, which I don't really like per se but at least Gab would be with her father and it is only 9am to 3pm most days. Other 2 days are Tues/Wed. So, Iwork tomorrow and get Wed,Thurs,Fri off....lol. Wednesday because I worked today.
Blah - blah...and I am off to interview for the city community now....one that pays good and is only 11 hours a week. So, I will see if that can be worked in to this one. Also, I am still waiting for the retirement center to call back.
Mindee - that avatar is adorable!! Way cute. :)
Chat w/ you all tomorrow when I have more time.
09-22-2008, 10:28 PM
again, I am back enjoying the quiet time......Tommy went to the store about an hour ago. he first went over to our neighbors house to take them some cereal, and then he was going from there to the store. so I will give him a little bit longer before I send the search party out.....as in me.
well I have proof that Logan took a nap today.....he is still wide awake in the bedroom right now! so, I know that him being quiet earlier today was him actually napping! now....if we can get him to take this whole going to be thing as seriously as he took it when he didn't nap!
Sue~ Man, you really are one busy girl! Great job on staying under 170!
Katy~ I have been on SP for some time now, and that must be a new feature. Well, that or I just never noticed it before!
SuzieQ~ YAY!!!! I am so glad to hear that your first day went well. thanks for the nice comment about my avatar! He wasn't doing that when I took the picture. When I put it up to take the picture he was sitting on it nicely.......or so I thought!
09-22-2008, 10:55 PM
Just a quickie to say..I did ride 3 more miles tonight for 5 miles total today. I feel real good about my eating and I think I am finally completely over the infections. Yay!
I am going to TRY not to weigh until next Mon., but since we go out of town for Thurs. and Fri. I might have to step on the scales to make sure I am not over-doing the food. :)
Sweet dreams ladies.
09-22-2008, 11:35 PM
I went and found Tommy.....he was still at our neighbors house. her dad told Tommy to sit and finish watching DWTS, so he did. he is now at the store and should be home soon. we had to borrow some milk from our neighbor because Marissa was holding out for daddy to bring her some.
Sue~ That is good to hear that you were able to get some more riding in. I wish I had a bike because I would be riding that thing all over the place!
we have this stray cat, well, it looks like a kitten if you ask me. so I took some pictures of it. I am going to email our office manager with the pictures in a little bit to see if she knows whose cat it is or if anyone has asked her about it.
09-23-2008, 05:53 AM
Hola Chicas!
Wowsers you have been busy!!! :yikes:
We started to go out yesterday but I started feeling bad.......:barf: So we went home and I went to bed and slept like 6 hrs! :faint: I dunno what the bleep is wrong w/ me lately! All I wanna do is SLEEP!!! I know that vacations are for relaxing, but this is ridiculous!!!!! Have I really run myself down that much??? :( We did manage to make it over to the in-laws and even my mil said I looked tired.........I guess work has taken it out of me......... But I am thankful to have a job to make me tired, lemme tell ya. We saw this poor man standing on the side of the highway with a sign and ya I know there are loads of people out there who do it who do not need the $$, but he looked sooooooooo in need ya'all. DH asked if I had any cash and I had a $1..........So we gave it to him and you'd think we'd given him 1 million $$.....
Well in less than 24 hrs I will be another yr older.....woopeee...lol. And I am STILL battling my insurance for my two prescriptions. They are really really frustrating me! Yes I am thankful I do have health insurance, but geez.....I pay for it and all they do is deny, deny, deny.........UGH drives me NUTS! Okay off my :soap: now........lol.
Well I was gonna do indies but DH is grumpy and wants to watch a movie.... So maybe lattta! Catch ya on the flip side! ;)
Anywho.........I sure hope that you all are doing well.
09-23-2008, 12:43 PM
Sorry for another fly by, I will catch up later today or tomorrow.
Heard from Rocky last night , surprised he was feeling good enough to call. He is up walking and hopes to travel back home by Wednesday, it will be a 6 to 8 week recovery. His sisters and mother will be with him, thank goodness.
His sister was sweet enough to send a picture of him in the hospital. I think it is before he went into surgery, though he looks kind of rough. I will have to ask.
The city job was a no go....too bad. With different meetings on the weekend and me needing to be there to check them out I couldn't have done it w/ this motel job, so I passed. No biggie.
It is adorable Mindee- priceless :)
I better dash...chat later!
09-23-2008, 02:34 PM
KATY...OMG to the cookies, yikes! And that's just one? Holy cow! Well, at lease they were good, lol. Thanks you.
SUE...glad you are still holding in the 160's. And thank you. Mmmmm, I love beans, cornbread and fried potatoes! Can't remember the last time I had that meal...been years for sure. But...making a pot of chili today and having some cornbread muffins, it sounds good to me right now. WTG on the bike ride.
SUSAN...glad you like the job and hope you get the next one. At least you are getting a variety so you won't get bored with doing the same old thing day in and day out.
MINDEE...been meaning to say that too...the avatar is cute...love the black and white.
FRANCIE...no dishwasher? WHAT?! :yikes: Of course there's just the two of you so it shouldn't be so bad. I used to have to wash for 5 and I swear the minute I would get all the dishes clean someone went in the kitchen and started over with messing them up  Hoping the packing is going well and you are almost done.
SASSY...wishing you an early HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Anniversary too! Hope your day is special.
HIYA TAMMY, JULES and ASIA
Well, I did half my walk this morning. Didn't have time to do it all unless I got up at 5...wasn't going to do that. Bad enough having to get up at 6. Had to get up early to get a walk in and then get DS to the airport to rent a car...only place he could find to rent one for a 10 days that was the cheapest. A zillion other things to do today as well. And I am hoping to hit the hay early so I can get a good nights sleep. Anyway...off to finish up my exercise and take the dog for a walk.
